Poppy Delevingne confirmed her status as a trend-setter at the 2014 Elle Style Awards held at London’s One Embankment (February 18) by wearing an Emilia Wickstead Fall 2014 outfit seen only just a few days ago on a London Fashion Week catwalk.
Breaking away from her usually pretty palette, Poppy opted for much more grown-up shade of ochre which was certainly refreshing.
It was also great to see Poppy break away from her usual look and opt for a cropped lace high-necked long sleeve top with mid-length pencil skirt.
While I’m thoroughly enjoying seeing London’s socialite scene experiment with ladylike looks by Emilia, I do however think the skirt looks a little frumpy which is surprising considering Poppy’s super slender frame.
Overall this is a well thought-out look even though slightly unexpected, but I know Poppy has much more to offer. Do you agree?
The Burberry Prorsum Fall 2014 fashion show took place during London Fashion Week this afternoon (February 17).
As we’ve come to expect, the hottest ticket in town attracted a lot of celebrity faces, some of whom also attended the menswear show last month. Bradley Cooper didn’t take to the red carpet, but you can see him seated next to Anna Wintour below.
Paloma Faith: After working a summery BDOTY-worthy look for the menswear show, Paloma was in a more Fall-like mood. Wearing pieces from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection including a London landscape printed tee and green jacquard pencil skirt, she wore the same maroon hat she wore for her last red carpet appearance, but it worked much better on this occasion when styled with a matching coat.
Naomie Harris: While the coat-and-open-toe-sandals fashion police may not favour this look, I have to say I’m loving the chic combo of the velvet devore coat with the chartreuse velvet sandal. Did I say love? Yes, LOVE.
After a busy day front row at the London Fashion Week shows, Poppy Delevingne hot-footed it to Annabel’s in Mayfair last night (February 15) for the Charles Finch and Chanel pre-BAFTA party.
Chanel is a firm favourite for Poppy and you can see why in this elegant burgundy and pink ankle-grazing Chanel Spring 2014 dress. With a waist-cinching leather embellished belt, Poppy looked every inch the demure and sophisticated red carpet star.
A black quilted Chanel bag and classic pumps were all this look needed to retain its elegant allure.
I particularly like the cut-out sleeve detailing as it’s so refreshing to see a dress appropriately styled for the seasonality of London, and quite the opposite from the Burberry Prorsum dress Poppy had sported at Harvey Weinstein’s pre-BAFTA dinner the previous night. Do you agree?
Poppy Delevingne joined sister Cara Delevingne at Harvey Weinstein’s pre-BAFTA dinner last night (February 14) held at Little House Mayfair, London.
The model continued her love of pretty frocks by opting for one of the new season’s most covetable catwalk pieces, the Burberry Prorsum Spring 2014 pale blue lace dress with lilac one-shoulder petal applique strap.
You may remember that Gemma Chan wore this same dress to the ‘Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit’ London premiere last month, and in my eyes styled it much more elegantly.
But while Poppy is fresh from her trip to Sao Paulo and with a glowing tan to prove it, she ticked off not one but two key trends in this pastel lace number.
Always one to add a sparkly spin to her feminine style, Poppy paired her dress with a Jimmy Choo ‘Sweetie’ clutch and glittering gold shoes.
While the look is on-trend, Poppy’s relaxed beach hair and minimal make-up channelled a more vacation vibe rather than dinner party, and seemed quite unseasonal for London.
We’ll no doubt see this key dress on the red carpet again so I’m really looking forward to seeing who will put their spin on it next.
The model, who’s known for her love of pretty frocks, took a walk on the vampy side wearing a Louis Vuitton Spring 2014 sheer black gown with a gathered skirt, leather detailing, enhanced shoulders and beaded embroidery emphasizing the waist.
Opting to wear a bra rather than go commando like the model on the runway, I appreciate the change of pace and theatrical nature of the look, but I can’t help but feel like this is a bit too costumey.
A deep-rouge lip, high ponytail and Louis Vuitton bucket bag rounded out her look.
