Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Pixie Geldof took to the red carpet at the 2012 MTV European Music Awards on Sunday evening in Frankfurt, Germany.

The lead singer of the band Violet wore a House of Holland Spring 2013 dress.

I wasn’t surprised to see the quirky singer wearing this look, as she was front row at the designer’s show back in September.

Pixie’s striped dress was styled with a fuchsia pink Maison Martin Margiela for H&M clutch, which is due to hit stores on November 15.

Navy satin platforms and a selection of gold jewelry completed her look.

On the red carpet, Pixie said “My red carpet essentials are very high heels, a big bag and moisturiser! On stage with Violet I like to wear long, floaty things”.

Do you like this laidback approach, or would you have preferred something more dressy?

Celebrities gathered in London last night for the Tunnel of Love event in aid of The British Heart Foundation at Proud in Camden.

Pixie Geldof: The TV star opted for a blue shirt dress with mustard-and-cream detailing. She completed her look with Topshop silver shoes and a McQ Alexander McQueen Kingsland transparent shopper. I have never understood the concept of having a bag where the world can see the contents.

Peaches Geldof: The glowing new mum looked radiant wearing a Dolce & Gabbana maxi floral dress which she styled with a red clutch and a gold necklace. I can’t fault a single thing about this look.

Laura Bailey: I don’t care if she’s wearing white shoes on this occasion; I just love her summery Jonathan Saunders Freda degradé jacquard dress. I have been waiting for such a long time for this dress to hit the red carpet.

Daisy Lowe: The model also wore a summery white dotted strapless Dolce & Gabbana. These types of cutesy sugary dresses really suit her quirky style, but her shoe choice could’ve been better.

Here we have two Brit stars with added spice from Italy.

Pixie Geldof was the first to wear this red, green and white chilli-print Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2012 fitted dress whilst attending the 2012 Elle Style Awards in London back in February.

She channelled her inner Marilyn Monroe with voluminous waves and red hot lips.

Black peep-toes completed her look.

Paloma Faith was spotted outside the BBC1 studios last month wearing the same dress.

The crooner added a matching headscarf, red platform Mary Janes, a bright red hat bag and a black and gold embroidered cardigan.

Even though many of you hated the cardigan with this Dolce & Gabbana dress, I would take Paloma’s cardigan over Pixie’s black peep-toes.

Paloma for putting her signature twist on this red hot dress.

Pixie Geldolf hit the red carpet at the 2012 Elle Style Awards at The Savoy Hotel in London this evening on the arm of designer Henry Holland.

She wore a look from Dolce & Gabbana’s produce-inspired Spring 2012 collection, which we’ve seen on the likes of Felicity Jones, Kirsten Dunst and Eva Herzigova.

The socialite’s veggie of choice for the evening was chili peppers, which covered her classic sheath dress.

It seems as though Pixie is going for a modern take on Marilyn Monroe, with bleached blonde hair and bright red lips.

The shoes throw this whole thing off for me. Clunky black suede pumps are far too heavy for the dress, but I have to be thankful she finally decided to dye her roots.

What do you think about Pixie’s shoe choice?

We first spotted the Topshop navy polka-dot midi dress on Fearne Cotton early last month.

She wore the dress with red crisscross suede pumps, when she attended Freddie Mercury’s 65th birthday in aid of the Mercury Phoenix Trust in London.

Pixie Geldof wore the same dress a week later when she helped open the new Westfield Stratford City shopping centre in London.

Sporting golden curly locks, the socialite accessorized with gold-hooped earrings and black peep-toes.

Model Laura Bailey wore the same dress to the Quintessentially Awards in London.

She also accessorized with black peep-toes plus a black quilted Chanel bag. Messy hair and red lips completed her look.

A few days later, Kirsten Dunst wore the same dress whilst arriving at Heathrow airport en route to the US following her ‘Melancholia’ premiere.

Brown shades, triple-strap ballet pumps, a Celine Boston tote and a Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton bag completed her look.

Finally, Saoirse Ronan donned this now very popular Topshop dress for the grand opening of ‘The Lir’ at the National Academy of Dramatic Art, Trinity College Dublin in Ireland last week.

On the fifth outing for this dress, the young actress added tan lace-up heels and a gold necklace.

Save Fearne, I’m not crazy about any of their shoe choices, but my final vote goes to Pixie.

It’s refreshing to me to see her looking quite cute and girlie for a change.

Lily Cole posed on the red carpet at InStyle & HFPA’s annual event during the 2011 Toronto Film Festival last month wearing a Giles Fall 2011 dress.

The model/actress teamed her long-sleeved dress featuring Paul Delaroche’s painting of ‘The Execution of Lady Jane Grey’ with a black waistband and eggplant pumps.

Pixie Geldof wore the same dress when she sat front row at the Giles Spring 2012 presentation in London a few days later.

The social butterfly tied her hair back into a loose bun and accessorized with gold bag and black Miu Miu peep-toes.

I love that Pixie wore her hair off her shoulders to show off the details on her dress, but I think this dress works better on someone statuesque like Lily.

Lily’s eggplant coloured heels also complement the dress better so she wins for me.
