Pixie Geldof raised more than a few eyebrows on the red carpet at the 2013 British Fashion Awards held at the London Coliseum in England on Monday.
That’s mostly because she opted to carry a green furry toy as a clutch, but also because the Topshop silver spaghetti-strap dress, styled with a deep-mahogany lip colour, wasn’t particularly flattering.
London’s It girls took to the front row of Erdem’s Spring 2014 collection to see what lace-accented floral delights the designer had in store for us this time, with one PYT sticking out like a sore thumb.
Alexa Chung: The DJ didn’t appear to get the floral or lace memo, opting for a cosy Topshop knit sweater (which I have in pink) styled with a leather mini skirt, ankle boots and a Burberry Fall 2013 clutch. While she might not have towed the line with the dress code, the look is very much in tune with her style.
Poppy Delevingne: The socialite donned funky crystal-accented DSquared2 shades while wearing a pretty white frock with colourful floral appliqués from Erdem’s Resort 2014 collection which she styled with black pumps. While the footwear wouldn’t have been my first choice, they coordinate well with the black trims on her dress.
Pixie Geldof: I saw the socialite several times yesterday. While she changed her dress for each show – here she’s wearing an Erdem Pre-Fall 2013 floral frock – she did not part with her trusted Dolce & Gabbana animal-print clutch, or her burgundy booties showcased during Christopher Kane’s Fall 2013 collection.
Daisy Lowe: The model channeled her inner Courtney Love, styling her pretty white lace Erdem Resort 2014 frock with workman-like lace-up boots, with black Prada Heritage cat eye sunglasses and a Miu Miu ‘Bowling’ bag completing her look.
Longchamp celebrated the opening of its London flagship store on Regent Street on Saturday evening, inviting a host of celebrity guests.
I was lucky enough to be invited and mingled with a host of celebrity guests across the three floors while being thoroughly entertained by Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof, who were spinning the decks (see my pictures below).
Zoe Saldana: The beautiful actress, who is currently in London filming her next blockbuster ‘Guardian of the Galaxy’, looked effortless wearing a draped-front ivory silk blouse and shorts from Longchamp’s Spring 2014 collection, which she styled with a ‘Roseau Box’ clutch and taupe Louboutins. She was such a delight, happily posing for a picture for us.
Kate Moss: The model, who has a very strong connection with Longchamp having designed bags for the brand, was the one person who everyone wanted to see close up. She didn’t disappoint, wearing a sexy black keyhole romper with a unique whiplash leather belt, which she accessorized with a blue Kate Moss for Longchamp clutch for a pop of colour.
Alexa Chung: The DJ was in great spirits on the night, opting for a black vinyl Jonathan Saunders ‘Jemima’ bustier dress from the Fall 2013 collection to showcase her darker and sexier side, which she styled with a cute pair of houndstooth ankle-strap pumps. The ivory cardi was just for the red carpet.
Pixie Geldof was also at The Club at The Ivy in London yesterday afternoon with Kate Moss for the exclusive preview of Kate Moss’ Carphone Warehouse accessories collection.
The socialite wore a floral Topshop look which consisted of a cami top and front-slit skirt, both with blue underlayers which are part of Topshop’s Reclaim To Wear’ collection.
Reclaim To Wear is a method of producing beautiful clothes using the fashion industry’s surplus, such as stock, remnants and off-cuts, to ensure that a large percentage of pre-consumer textile waste is reused in a creative way and reintroduced into the market as a new, upcycled product.
Metallic-silver Mary Jane platform pumps and a Louis Vuitton shopper completed her daytime casual high-street, high-end, accessorized look.
Pixie Geldof attended the launch party for the Fashion Rules exhibition, a collection of dresses worn by HRH Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Margaret and Diana, Princess of Wales, held at Kensington Palace in London yesterday evening.
The socialite wore a look by one of her favourite designers, Henry Holland.
Opting not to wear the full House of Holland Resort 2014 look, Pixie selected just the teal leather skirt with playful starburst appliqués, which she paired with a printed blouse from the same collection.
The bralet is really sexy on the model, but it wouldn’t have been quite right for this event.
Adding a touch of glam rock to her look via her metallic-silver Mary Janes, Pixie also styled her look with an animal Dolce & Gabbana shoulder bag and a dark-berry lip colour.
Pixie really had me loving this look until I got to the lip colour. Even though her Resort pieces do have a Pre-Fall feel, the colour is still too dark and sombre for this look.
