Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Daniela Virgilio attended the premiere of ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which was also part of the 69th Venice Film Festival opening ceremony on Tuesday evening.

The Italian actress wore a unique gown for the event, standing out amidst a sea of goddess gowns.

The silver-embroidered Fendi dress, covered in light-blue floral embroidery, features an unexpected netted neckline and bow detailing.

I bet Michelle Williams is kicking herself for missing this dress for herself.

A blunt bob, strappy Fendi sandals, smoky eyes and black Fendi clutch, which feel a tad too heavy, complete the look.

As one of the jury members for the 2012 Venice Film Festival, Laetitia Casta took to the red carpet tonight for the premiere of ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which also served as the Opening Ceremony this evening.

The French actress was of course wearing a Dolce & Gabbana gown. You could ID this signature gown from the moon.

Her black-lace sheer gown with tonal embellishments was allowed to dazzle due to the effortless styling, which included black platform heels, smoky eyes and a simple bun.

I know many of you are tired of this bra and panties baring formula which works so well for the brand, but how do you feel about this look on this occasion?

Violante Placido also took to the red carpet tonight for the 2012 Venice Film Festival premiere of ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which also served as the Opening Ceremony this evening.

The Italian actress wore a fiery Alberta Ferretti strapless red gown with a sweetheart neckline.

I love everything about this look, especially the red accessories, but I can’t get on board with the hair on this occasion.

Not being a fan of ombre hair I wish she had styled her hair in a more sophisticated manner to complement the gown.

Naomi Watts and her partner Liev Schreiber (in Ermenegildo Zegna) joined Kate Hudson on the red carpet during the 2012 Venice Film Festival for the premiere of ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which also served as the Opening Ceremony this evening.

Like Kate, I’m not surprised at Naomi’s choice of designer as Naomi, film festivals and Marchesa seem to go hand in hand.

On this occasion she wore a nude lace overlay gown featuring a bateau neckline, ruffle sleeves, a layered skirt, and a low V-back with tonal ruffle accent from the Resort 2013 collection.

The colour is divine as is her choice of accessories which included a Lanvin two-tone light blue & mustard lacquered ‘Red Passion’ minaudiere, nude peep-toes and gold statement jewels.

Naomi opted for a rich red lip colour instead of nude, which may have been one nude step too far.

The only thing I would change about this look is Naomi’s posture. Such a stunning gown needs more poise.

To say that Kate Hudson was radiant on the red carpet this evening for the Venice Film Festival premiere for ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which also served as the opening ceremony, is the understatement of the century.

The actress wore a stunning Atelier Versace gown from the Fall 2012 collection.

I knew Kate would go for Versace, because Versace gowns have served her so well in the past, and what better way for a look from this collection to make its debut than at a European Film Festival?

Her nude Swarovski-crystal-embellished asymmetrical gown is giving her a breathtaking silhouette.

I love the chic wavy updo, the pearlescent Edie Parker clutch, Versace heels and the dazzling Fabergé jewels.

We all knew she would deliver, but she has exceeded my expectations. Does she exceed yours?

Kasia Smutniak now has a serious contender for BDOTW.

Kate Hudson made a long-awaited return to the red carpet this afternoon for the Venice Film Festival photocall of her latest movie ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’.

She kept it sleek and simple wearing a Gucci Resort 2013 suit.

The cream fine-wool double-breasted jacket with slim flared pants paired with a simple taupe top has a 60s vibe to it, which is an era both Kate and her stylist BFF Rachel Zoe turn to for red-carpet and street-style inspiration.

A yellow-gold Bulgari statement necklace plus a pink-gold and diamond pave Bulgari bracelet and Jimmy Choo ‘Tame’ pumps accessorized her look.

We all know Kate is very playful on the red carpet, so how do you feel about this grown-up chic look?
