When Megan Fox was wearing gowns with thigh-high splits during her “Transformers” promotional tour, many of you said she was trying to hard to be sexy.

The same can not be said about Paz Vega, because even if she dressed in a bin liner she still would be sexy. It just comes naturally and oozes from her every pore.

Last night she owned the red carpet wearing a black Gucci Resort 2010 backless black long sleeve gown with a dangerously high split.

Her look was paired with diamond bracelets and Gucci Fall 2009 patent pumps.  I would’ve preferred a strappy sandal like the one presented on the runway, but other than that she’s perfection.

Sofia Milos matches Paz in the sexy style stakes wearing a midnight blue and black striped Herve Leger by Max Azria Fall 2008 bandage dress, which has a high collar with a corsage detail on the bodice.

You may remember back in December 2008 Jenny McCarthy wore this same dress on the red carpet.

Ingrid Muccitelli wore a black Balenciaga Fall 2008 dress with a fold detail on the hip, an embellished detail on the waist and a thigh-high split.

I love her dress but those sheer embroidered arm warmers leave me so confused.

I am still not crazy about Penelope Cruz’s half up, half down hairstyle, but here is no denying how great she looks in this gorgeous Chanel lace dress.

Maribel Verdu wears one of my favourite dresses from the Christian Dior Resort 2008 collection.

The tangerine dress has multiple tiers, and exquisite embellished details on the neckline and belt.

She completes her look with an orange clutch, and gold heels.

If you are going to wear a black dress, my advice would be punch up the look with an amazing stand-out pair of heels. That is exactly what Manuela Velasco did by wearing a pink platform pair of Christian Dior Spring 2009 heels. You may remember that Mischa Barton wore a yellow pair last week.

Belen Rueda looks absolutely outstanding wearing this white Carolina Herrera Spring 2009 gown.

The ruffle details that cascade down the whole of this gown is simply breath-taking.

The embellished straps and waistline details may seem harsh on a white gown for some people, but I think the gown would be too plain without them.

Rosana Pastor’s Carolina Herrera Spring 2009 strapless leather-look gown, was equally outstanding. Talk about hugging every curve.

This was another one of my favourite Spring 2009 gowns, and Rosana more than did it justice.

Best actress winner Carme Elias, wore a delicate taupe chiffon gown by Rosa Esteva for Cortana. I just love how regal she looks in her gown.

Speaking of regal. That is very much the vibe Leticia Dolera was giving us in her ethereal floral Josep Font gown.

Dafne Fernandez wore a black liquid deep plunging gown from the Hannibal Laguna One & Only collection.

The gown was accented with a square brooch detail.

Monica Cruz tends to outshine her big sister Penelope at these occasions, but her Roberto Cavalli Pre-Fall 2009 gown just doesn’t hit the spot for me.

Actress and singer Olivia Molina arrived wearing a white Azzaro gown with crystal embellished neckline and belt.

That’s because Anne Hathaway wore it to the SAG Awards recently.

Maria Leon’s Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2009 strapless ivory dress, with a sculptured skirt is way too plain. It’s missing the jewel encrusted belts that were part of the collection.

Actress Malena Alterio wore a purple column dress from Juanjo Oliva’s Spring 2008 collection.

I love the cute butterfly on the waist. Mimi would approve.

Goya Toledo’s satin Christian Dior gown, is not my favourite dress of this ceremony. The skirt is way too busy.

Cinema Academy President Angeles Gonzalez Sinde, arrived wearing a stunning gown from the Devota & Lomba Spring 2008 collection.

I love the purple, the stripes, and the way she looks better than some of the actresses on this red carpet.

Aitana Sanchez Gijon opted for a chocolate brown Oscar de la Renta Resort 2009 strapless ruffled gown.

Kudos to Maria Botto for trying something very adventurous by wearing this Juanjo Oliva Spring 2006 gown, but I just don’t get it.

Leonor Watling’s Josep Font blue and black turtle neck gown was just not the right choice for her imo.

The gown looks so fantastic on the Josep Font website, but Leonor fails to bring it to life.

Model and TV host Mar Saura dared to follow Gisele Bundchen by wearing this satin pale pink Verasce Fall 2008 gown.

Mar looks great in this dress, but Gisele totally owned this dress, so Mar just comes off looking second best.

For the Palme d’Or Closing Ceremony at the Palais des Festivals, the actress wore a beautiful ice blue Louis Vuitton Fall 2008 strapless gown, which had been modified from the runway.

Spanish actress Paz Vega attended the Marie Claire Prix de la Mode 2008 Awards at French Embassy last month in Madrid, wearing the runway version this dress.

The added detail of a white fold on the runway version, makes this dress more interesting so Paz wins this for me.

I must say I am always disappointed when the voluminous pieces on the runway are watered down on the red carpet.

The Spanish actress wore an eggplant Elie Saab Fall 2008 Couture sweetheart necklined gown, with a lace ombre skirt, and gold diamante heels.

Paz could have pulled of the runway version, so as gorgeous as she looks, I do feel a slight sense of disappointment.

Eva Mendes wore an ivory off shoulder dress embellished with sparkling peacock feathered patterns. She accessorized with snake print pointy pumps and gorgeous diamond earrings.

Her hair was styled in an elegant updo.

Scarlett Johansson turned heads dressed in a black and gold Stella McCartney Fall 2008 skirt with a lace sleeved top also from the Stella McCartney Fall 2008 collection.

This for me is not her best look, as she took to very different looks from this collection and tired to marry them together.

She accessorized with black Christian Louboutin pumps and chunky diamond earrings. Her hair was elegantly styled in an updo.

Her hair was swept up in an updo, and smoky eyes accentuated her sultry looks. She accessorized with champagne peep toe pumps with a glitter detail on the front, triple drop earrings and a golden snakeskin clutch.

Menswear as womensear is very much on trend, but Scarlett Johansson make heavy work of this ivory 3.1 Phillip Lim Fall 2008 satin embellished blazer and black pants. It is just not very endearing at all.

As I have said before, this look works better for me when it’s more tailored.

The supermodel accessorized her dress with multiple bangles and stunning heels also from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2009 collection.

Chanel Iman legs appear to go on forever in her grey mini dress. The model wears her dress with Burberry Prorsum Ruched strap platforms.

Miranda Kerr is stunning in this red Herve Leger bandage dress, with nude heels.

Alessandra Ambrosio also wore nude heels, but with a cute white dress with a drop waist.

Doutzen Kroes’ LBD also incorporates the lace trend.

Black is very much everywhere on the red carpet, but a new trend – started by Beyonce – of high hair seems to be hitting the red carpet.

I love this sexy off-the-shoulder look on Ciara. Is it me or has she lost weight?

Kim Kardashian’s freshly cut bangs are not too bad, but the ruffles on her grey chiffon dress are too distracting.

Ashanti and her boo Nelly, who hosted the event were perfectly co-ordinated.

The singer showed off her stunning figure wearing a Notte by Marchesa black gown trimmed with lace and a satin bow.
