Paula Patton In Gucci - 'Disconnect' New York Special Screening

Paula Patton was back on the red carpet last night attending the ‘Disconnect’ New York Special Screening held at SVA Theater.

It’s been a while since I liked anything that Paula has worn on the red carpet, and judging by this look, I will have to wait a while longer.

I loved the Gucci Spring 2013 collection but I don’t like this white silk gown, which features a high-neck decorated with coral-jewelled embroidery and an open back.

I had envisioned seeing this gown on the red carpet at Cannes. It would be perfect with the French Riviera in the backdrop.

Paula looks really boxy in this look, plus considering the high decorative neckline she should’ve pulled all her hair off her face and not worn those large gold hooped Kara Ross earrings.

As always, I think Paula needs some guidance. I can’t remember a red carpet look of hers which I truly loved.

Either Paula Patton has a new stylist, or her existing one upped her game for the 2012 Met Gala, held in New York City on Monday night.

The ‘Mission Impossible’ actress, who was only beaten to the punch for least-inspiring promo tour for 2011 by Salma Hayek, looked outstanding wearing Vera Wang.

Her rose strapless silk faille gown with pleated detail at the bodice and skirt is one of her best looks ever.

I would say it is an amazing turnaround, but I always knew that Paula had this moment within her.

The gown was complemented by some breathtaking statement jewelry and a metallic clutch.

A clean updo and simple makeup shades finished off her look.

Dear Paula,

Your stylist hates you.

I mean why else would she dress you in this cutesy dress which even teen stars Chloe Moretz, Elle Fanning and Hailee Steinfeld would reject, to a Vanity Fair party?!?!?!

P.S. adding a leather jacket doesn’t make it look cool.

P.S.S Call Miss J to help you work on more appropriate red carpet poses. The ‘I wanna go potty’ look is not very chic.

My reaction to seeing Paula Patton at the 2012 NAACP Image Awards, held at The Shrine Auditorium in LA last night was, “YES”.

Finally the beautiful actress is living up to her potential and giving me nothing to complain about.

She looked outstanding wearing a Monqiue Lhuiller Spring 2011 gown.

The apple red raffia embroidered strapless column gown was teamed with some magnificent gold jewels.

Seeing her looking so good here, I can’t help it wonder why things went so wrong during her MI:4 promo tour.

Paula Patton attended the eBay Celebrity and Brad Pitt’s Make It Right Celebrate Pop-Up Gallery Exhibition at Chelsea Market in New York City last night.

My first reaction to seeing her in this Versus Spring 2012 dress was, ‘Hmmm…’

Why does her stylist continually get it wrong?

This baby-blue cold-shoulder dress with a pleated skirt is too young for her, tight on the arms and wrong for her body type.

I pictured this look on Leighton Meester, Shailene Woodley or Chloe Moretz; actresses that are 10 or 20 years younger than her.

I can’t even start on the shoes, but as least her jewelry was complementary.

I was hoping Paula would start 2012 on the right foot; I guess that wasn’t to be.

Vanity Fair’s March 2012 issue, which is the annual Hollywood Issue, features eleven of the most up-and-coming actresses who were shot by Mario Testino.

The main cover features Rooney Mara, Jennifer Lawrence, Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain.

After the fold we have Elizabeth Olsen, Adepero Oduye, Shailene Woodley, Paula Patton, Felicity Jones, Lily Collins and Brit Marling.

There are always great debates that go on with regards to this cover every year.

I would’ve swapped Mia with Elizabeth and had her on the main cover, and I’m not sure Paula should be considered up-and-coming as she’s been around for a while. Also Shailene is totally unrecognisable.

Each actress wore a pastel-coloured satin dress for the 20s boudoir-themed shoot with screen-siren hairstyles and bold lip colours.

They all look great, but Jennifer steals the cover for me as she’s in full-on bombshell mode. Very Jessica Rabbit.

Here are some extracts from their interviews:

Jessica on her superstar crush:The English Patient. Of course. Those love scenes!”

Jennifer on who else she’s like to work with: “I’d love to work with the Cohen brothers. Tommy Lee Jones. Jack Nicholson. And I’d love to work with Renee Zellweger. I’m a huge Renee Zellweger fan.”

Rooney on her crush growing up: “Thom Yorke.”

Jennifer on her childhood crush: “When I was little, like 90s, era, I had such a big crush on Justin Timberlake from *NSYNC that I almost thew up.”
