Paloma Faith Front Row @ Spring 2014 LFW

Paloma Faith also hit the front-row sevearl times during London Fashion Week over the weekend. Her over-the-top, eccentric style had no danger of being in short supply, either.

Julien Macdonald: The British songstress set a fittingly glam tone at the Julien Macdonald show in a slinky white, one-shoulder gown with spidery gold sequin detail crawling down the statement sleeve. To go with the slit-to-there gown? Metallic-gold platform pumps and a wide-brimmed hat, which actually didn’t match the mood of the dress, but checked the quirky Paloma box.

Ashish: Sparkling with plenty of personality and pizazz the singer donned a salmon sequin show-stopper with wearing her flame lock down which on most would upstage her look, but it just adds to the theatrics here.

Vivienne Westwood Red Label: Pouring on the funky appeal, Paloma paid homage to Vivienne in head-to-toe plaid with a mannish green-and-blue suit. The bold moves continued with her gold platform pumps and neon cotton candy-pink lip, whilst she skipped a hat in exchange for a pile of fiery red-orange locks twisted atop her head.

Paloma Faith In Dolce & Gabbana & Julien Macdonald - V Festival

Paloma Faith performed at V Festival on Saturday and Sunday this weekend in England.

Saturday – Hylands Park, Chelmsford: No one should be surprised that the Dolce devotee wore a Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2013 head-to-toe look for the occasion, selecting this beautiful multi-coloured mosaic-print strapless dress, adding an embellished scarf, opulent heart-shaped gold earrings and ankle-strap espadrilles.

I know many of you feel her style is OTT, but as a performance look this is exactly how to stand out when performing to 100,000 people.

Sunday – Weston Park, Stafford: For her second performance, Paloma wore a Julien Macdonald Fall 2012 purple sheath with gold-and-black embroidery styled with yet another pair of statement earrings and a purple satin fascinator with gold detailing.

Of the two looks, the Dolce & Gabbana frock is much preferred. As a performance piece it stands out and allows more movement.

Who Wore Diane von Furstenberg Better Rita Ora or Paloma Faith

Here we have two British singers and one Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2013 dress.

Rita Ora was the first to wear this Grecian-goddess white gown embellished with clear holographic sequins, for the 2013 Brit Awards announcement back in January.

On this rare occasion she wasn’t sporting a red pout; styling included nude pumps, a red manicure and a selection of rings.

Paloma Faith wore the same dress while performing on stage at T in the Park last month, adding a decorative floral accent perched on top of her red-and-blonde updo, with Steve Madden sparkly pumps completing the look.

I am not a fan of either shoe choice, so I will give this one to Paloma for making this performance piece a showstopper with the headpiece.

Paloma Faith In Diane von Furstenberg - T In The Park

Paloma Faith wowed the 85,000 sunburnt revellers who basked in the 26˚C heat and sunshine for her incredible set at T In The Park in Kinross, Scotland on Saturday.

The singer shimmied on stage wearing a Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2013 fully embroidered sequin gown with a deep plunging neckline that twisted into a daring central slit.

Her look was styled with equally sparkling platform Steve Madden heels, with a lily floral accent perched on top of her head for a signature quirky touch.

You may remember that Rita Ora wore this same dress to the BRIT Awards 2013 nominations announcement back in January.

Anna Dello Russo

Leave it to drama kings Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to top off the recent haute couture shows with an elaborate flourish. The design duo orchestrated ‘Ballo in Maschera,’ an extravagant Venetian masquerade ball held in the halls of the historic Palazzo Pisani Moretta along the Grand Canal last Saturday. A collection of brilliantly costumed guests, each having received a mask created by the designers, arrived by gondola or boat to celebrate the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Fall Winter 2013/14 presented in Venice, Italy.

Anna Dello Russo: ‘Understated’ is not in this ‘Vogue’ Japan editor’s vocabulary, so it’s only natural that she put the costume in this costume party with a spirited ship fascinator atop her expansive wig. Flaunting a period costume with layers and layers of ruffles and piles of frou, ADR was definitely the fashion queen of the evening.
