Shailene Woodley In Jonathan Saunders – 51st Annual Publicists Awards Luncheon

Shailene Woodley In Jonathan Saunders - 51st Annual Publicists Awards Luncheon

Shailene Woodley injected some pretty spring colour to the 51st Annual Publicists Awards Luncheon at Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, California, on Friday (February 28).

The young actress chose a peachy Jonathan Saunders Resort 2014 dress with cap sleeves and with subtle embossing.

During a season where so many stars are piling on the glitz, it’s quite refreshing to see something so simple and cute. And as this was a daytime event, I think it’s the perfect cut and colour.

Shailene’s most recent red carpet outings where she’s worn Calvin Klein and Proenza Schouler, have seen her in quite dark palettes so I’m really pleased to see her break-away from this. And the Gianvito Rossi ‘Sparkle’ rose gold sandals were the perfect finishing touch.

However I do think the dress would have benefited from slightly bolder make-up or a little more body in her hair. What do you think?

Jaime King In Christian Dior – 7th Annual Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party

Jaime King In Christian Dior - 7th Annual Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party

Jamie King attended the 7th Annual Women in Film Pre-Oscar cocktail party held at Fig & Olive Melrose Place, West Hollywood, Friday evening (February 28).

Wearing a beautifully tailored Christian Dior navy wool and silk jacket and eye-catching print silk shorts, it was a look that combined vibrancy and sophistication.

It’s refreshing to see someone as gorgeous as Jaime skew the typical cocktail dress for such an occasion. And although the proportions of the jacket may not be to everyone’s taste, I think Jaime really pulls it off.

The directional dresser opted against a pointed pump as seen on the runway and instead wore a monochromatic pair of Giuseppe Zanotti ‘Saftey Pin’ sandals complete with, you guessed it, a giant gold safety pin. To me these were far too fussy for the already-busy look so think Jaime should have stuck to the runway-approved colourful pump.

Loose, glossy waves and a bronzed smoky eye were the finishing touches to this quirky yet polished look.

Cate Blanchett In Valentino Couture – Rodeo Drive Walk Of Style Awards Ceremony

Cate Blanchett In Valentino Couture - Rodeo Drive Walk Of Style Awards Ceremony

Cate Blanchett attended the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Awards Ceremony held yesterday evening (February 28) at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, California.

The ‘Blue Jasmine’ actress rose to the stylish occasion by opting for a taupe tasselled Valentino Spring 2014 Couture dress.

This was a dress that skewed the glitz and drama of typical award ceremony dresses and instead offered a whole new take with its exquisite craftsmanship.

Just like the runway, Cate kept the styling minimal. While I can imagine this being worn with flats and bohemian jewellery, Cate added polish with a chic up do and strong eye-make-up.  My only change would have been to add some sparkling jewellery such as an ear cuff or cocktail ring.

To me it doesn’t necessarily have serious wow factor but it does have some sort of ethereal quality and Cate’s glowing complexion really gives it a lift.

I always find a delight and sense of excitement in Cate’s sartorial choices and this just proves how different her style is. But what do you think?

Lupita Nyong’o In Michael Kors – Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party

Lupita Nyong’o In Michael Kors - Women In Film Pre-Oscar Cocktail Party

Lupita Nyong’o continued her red carpet success last night (February 28) at the 7th Annual Women in Film Pre-Oscar cocktail party held at Fig & Olive Melrose Place, West Hollywood.

Still wowing us night after night with her red carpet choices during her first ever awards season, Lupita hasn’t faltered despite her hectic schedule which is really admirable. And once again the actress has made an inspiringly bold choice in an indigo and white Michael Kors Spring 2014 dress with an abs-baring cut-away panel.

I’d not realised until now just how muscular this petite lady was but this dress shows off her hard work to full potential.

It’s quite a bold look, but Luptia’s amazingly chic ‘do and pretty in pink lip shade really help to soften it. The Graziela Gems custom made ear cuff and wave ring add a cool touch of sparkle too.

And the bold accessories didn’t stop there. Lupita has worn stand-out blue shoes quite often now as she did at this week’s LoveGold party, and although this pair of Pedro Garcia ‘Rosette’ cobalt blue stain pumps are in-keeping with her unique style, I would have much preferred the look styled with a sandal or a more feminine pink or red pump to complement her lip shade. Do you agree?

Unite4 humanity Red Carpet Roundup

Alicia Keys: The songstress struck a pose wearing a Fleur du Mal bustier top and super wide-legged Proenza Schouler Spring 2014 pants. Accessories included Walter Steiger heels and a metallic clutch by Tom Ford. Sultry cat-eyes and the red pout completed her look.

Demi Lovato: The singer, who was presented with the Young Visionary Award, opted for an edgy black leather Jitrois frock featuring artful cut-outs at the neckline. Black Saint Laurent ‘Janis’ platform pumps and silver Demarco earrings accessorized her look. A maroon-hued updo and XIV Karats bracelets provided the finishing touches.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus: The actress looked lovely wearing a black-and-white printed David Meister sheath dress with red grosgrain belt styled with red hot Casadei pumps, Irene Neuwirth earrings and a Jacob & Co. ring.

Only Julia’s typical lady-like look works for me. I am not a fan of the other two.
