Padma Lakshmi In Ester Abner – Elton John AIDS Foundation Gala

With va-va-voom flair, Padma Lakshmi whisked onto the red carpet of the Elton John AIDS Foundation Gala on Tuesday (November 7) in New York City.

There will be no denying the sultry seduction of her Ester Abner Resort 2018 corset and lace gown.

But, this is the kind of boudoir glamour I love, as it maintains a superior level of streamlined elegance and never ventures into try-hard or overly embellished territory.

With an oxblood lip for a touch of added drama, all she needed to finish the look was the chic effortlessness of a long, wavy bob.

Padma Lakshmi In Cushnie et Ochs – 2017 Inspire A Difference Honors Event

Padma Lakshmi joined Julianna Margulies and Gabrielle Union at the 2017 Inspire A Difference Honors event on Thursday (November 2) in New York City to show her support for ACLU.

The television host and author showed off her statuesque beauty in a Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2018 white column dress. The floral print across the hem enlivened the snow white base while also serving as a marvelous counterpoint to the gathered shoulders and chest cut-outs.

The gown was just as stunning on the reverse as the cut-outs carried around to reveal a low back detail.

2017 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is our roundup from Sunday’s 2017 Emmy Awards.

Shannon Purser: I felt this was quite a magical, fairytale moment for Shannon. Her custom Sachin and Babi gown was simply breath-taking. Not only in colour, but also in design. The look was styled with Swarovski jewels.

Judith Light: Some might say this Christian Siriano gown is dated, but Judith brings so much energy to the look, that one can’t help but be left in awe.

2017 Entertainment Weekly Pre-Emmy Party

In advance of the 2017 Emmy Awards on Sunday, Entertainment Weekly hosted its Pre-Emmy Party on Friday (September 15) in West Hollywood, California.

Sophia Bush: This red Stella McCartney body-skimming dress with car wash slits held potential, but I wish the styling had been more complementary. A tonal red sandal like the Edie Parker clutch would have provided a more streamlined effect but I would have stopped the red at the makeup—red eye shadow is always a tough look to pull off.

Padma Lakshmi: The ‘Top Chef’ host also went bold with the eye shadow, hers an intense shade of violet. However, her sultry Cushnie et Ochs Spring 2018 floral-embroidered dress commanded enough attention on its own. I love that she didn’t resort to black pumps, but I’m wishing for a sandal here.

Mandy Moore
: With a shiny new play on an LBD, the ‘This Is Us’ actress donned a Sally LaPointe Pre-Fall 2017 sequin dress styled with Sophia Webster shoes and a red Jimmy Choo clutch. The style-forward edge of the turtleneck sweater piece grew on me, although at first, I did want to remove it.

2017 Time 100 Gala Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more looks to grace the red carpet for the 2017 Time 100 Gala on Tuesday (April 25) in New York City.

Naomi Campbell: The supermodel opted for an Alaia piece which was selected not only to colour coordinate with the step and repeat, but also because of its fine craftsmanship. Yes, it’s a bit heavy for spring, but Naomi has always marched to the beat of her own drum.

Margot Robbie: While I wish this Prada dress wasn’t so shapeless, the colourful embellishments – which reminded me of 100s and 1000s – the pale yellow hue, Delfina Delettrez jewels and the pretty pink purse did soften my stance and I have to say I love the look.

Ashley Graham: I love Ashley’s style, but I couldn’t get on board with what I feel is the over-styling of this look – starting with that choker. The look consisted of a Cami NYC camisole, Nili Lotan ‘Maya’ maxi skirt and Fleur Du Mal corset.

11th Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball

11th Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball

A host of celebrities attended the 11th Annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball on Tuesday (December 1) in New York City, honouring UNICEF ambassador Orlando Bloom.

Patina Miller: Following her stand out performance in ‘The Hunger Games’ we are thankfully seeing a lot more of the actress on the red carpet. On this occasion she wore a dove-grey Naeem Khan gown with floral appliqués which also have a snowflake quality to them. I can’t say I am a fan of the black Rodo clutch here, but I guess it was to complement the waistband.

Michelle Monaghan: The actress wore a Vivienne Westwood Red Label Spring 2016 strapless dress styled with a matching bolero. Westwood’s dress can often possess a samey quality, so I really appreciate the attempt to make this one stand out with the styling which included an intriguing bejewelled tarantula brooch.

Padma Lakshmi: The TV host and Naeem Khan make a dynamic pairing, yet I just can’t forgive that sheer yoke. I would’ve loved gown had it been strapless.
