Christian Dior Fall 2014 Couture Front Row

Christian Dior Falll 2014 Couture Front Row

Christian Dior presented their Fall 2014 Haute Couture collection this afternoon (July 7) in Paris, France with a host of familiar faces in the front row.

Charlize Theron: The brand’s golden girl shimmered in the front row wearing a metallic-gold short-sleeved mini dress which showcased those gorgeous gams, which were elongated further with nude pumps. Yellow-gold Anita Ko diamond earring completed her look. Glamour in its simplest form.

Marion Cotillard: Of all the Dior ambassadors, the French actress has perhaps worn the brand most consistently. While not every look has been a hit, she is always a delight to watch. On this occasion she wore a Resort 2014 black top with a fold-over detail and printed silk-scarf panel paired with a high-waisted skirt. The styling was kept simple with Dior pumps and a Miss Dior bag, as was the hair and makeup. Anyone else think this look was crying out for a pair of red pumps?

Jennifer Lawrence: Despite going into her second term as a Dior ambassador, she is still the new kid on the block. Like Marion, Jennifer’s selections for Dior haven’t always been so well received, but on this occasion she proves herself a worthy ambassador, wearing a Resort 2014 ‘Noeud Dior’ printed silk-scarf top paired with a white suede high-waisted skirt. J’adore the two-tone black and white accessories, which included pumps with both ankle and asymmetrical straps, a patent-leather clutch, and Dior tribal earrings. We whine about Jennifer often looking too old in her Dior looks, but I’m sure you will agree this look doesn’t age her at all. This is one of my favourite JLaw/Dior looks (although not a fan of the makeup). And thank God her hairstylist realized they were working with a 20-something star and not Hillary Clinton.

Olivia Palermo In Haute Hippie & Zara – Shutterfly By Design Event

Olivia Palermo In Haute Hippie & Zara - Shutterfly By Design Event

Olivia Palermo hosted the Shutterfly By Design event alongside Brit Morin and Michelle Workman on Wednesday (June 25) in New York City prior to her nuptials.

The socialite wore a colourful exotic look with a touch of Moroccan flair which is quite a feast for the eyes

You don’t know whether to look at her Haute Hippie ikat-print free-flowing blouse in vivid hues or her beautiful Zara embellished shorts first.

Your eye is then quickly drawn to her embellished loafers.

The top and shorts are perfection; the shoes, not so much.

Perhaps it was one embellished piece too far for me. I would’ve added a pair of nude sandals or ballet flats.

Do the shoes work for you?

Olivia Palermo’s Pattern Play Inspiration

Olivia Palermo's Pattern Play Inspiration

The Spring 2014 runways saw a rush of print-spiration at every turn—from painterly pop art and abstract graffiti brushstrokes to more ethnic motifs, striking digital prints and whimsical geometric collections of dots, lines and circles.

But rather than sending mixed messages, the mash-up of patterns proved a delightfully fresh way to wear the designs—which the celeb set was none too shy to model.

Resident trendsetter Olivia Palermo brought her street style to the next level when she indulged in a bit of pattern play.

Monochrome took on new meaning when she combined a striped Tibi top with a polka-dot Tibi blouse and checkerboard, high-waist Zara shorts for a super-chic assortment. Even her Nathalie Trad clutch provided another contrasting pattern, while those green Aquazurra wrap pumps couldn’t have been a better accessory to add a splash of sophisticated colour to the mix.

Design houses gave us even more mixed prints to consider, including Rodebjer’s loose silhouette of bold black-and-white stripes, Holly Fulton’s playful, swirling peach and pink polka dots, and Libertine’s ladylike blouse-and-skirt blend of dotted fun.

Olivia Palermo In Tibi – ‘Yves Saint Laurent’ New York Premiere

Olivia Palermo In Tibi - 'Yves Saint Laurent' New York Premiere

Olivia Palermo attended the Weinstein Company’s ‘Yves Saint Laurent’ premiere held at the Museum of Modern Art on Monday (June 16) in New York City.

I haven’t been the greatest fan of her recent red carpet looks, however, this sees her back on track.

The socialite wore a look from one of her favourite designers, Tibi, donning a white cropped jacket, pretty green, white and black asphalt striped cami top coordinated with a green Tibi ‘Sonoran’ eyelet skirt, which was partially adding some allure to her look.

Opting for exotic accessories, she styled her look with an animal-print skirt, snake-skin clutch and Sergio Rossi sandals.

The queen of accessories was on fire on this occasion.

I adore this look from head-to-toe.

Olivia Palermo In Ann Taylor – 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

Olivia Palermo In Ann Taylor - 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards

Olivia Palermo attended the 2014 CFDA Fashion Awards held at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on Monday (June 2) in New York City.

I’m not sure when I fell out of love with Olivia’s style, but this fur and fringed Ann Taylor number is just another example of why she fails to excite. I mean, a fur sweater, in June? Baffled beyond belief.

I wish she’d had more fun with the look.

Not even her Aquazzura ‘Madison’ feather-accented sandals, quirky Lulu Guinness perspex ‘Lips’ clutch, gold chunky cuff or reverse choker can get me on board with this look.

Olivia Palermo In Tibi - ‘For The Love of Cinema’ Dinner Party

Olivia Palermo attended the ‘For the Love of Cinema’ dinner hosted by IWC Schaffhausen and Tribeca Film Festival at Urban Zen on Thursday (April 17) in New York City alongside Karolina Kurkova.

The fashionista wore a mix of black-and-white prints wearing a Tibi cropped sweater and checkered pants styled with a divine =black Emporio Armani jacket with Mongolian fur detailing.

Donning a pair of mesh ‘Lulu’ pumps by her favourite shoe designer: Aquazzura, she completed her look with a feathered clutch, flawless makeup and glossy tresses.

Was the clutch too much when considering the fur detailing on her coat?

Olivia Palermo In Matthew Williamson – Creative London Party

Olivia Palermo In Matthew Williamson - Creative London Party

Rounding off a day of shows in London, Olivia Palermo joined the fashion pack at the Creative London Party held at Princess Diana’s former home, Spencer House, yesterday evening (February 17).

The ever flawless socialite wore an elegant midnight blue embroidered Matthew Williamson Pre-Fall 2014 jumpsuit.

Always one to experiment and put her own feminine quirk on a piece, Olivia layered a boat neck white shirt under the jumpsuit for a refreshing take on this new eveningwear staple.

The rolled sleeves give a cool nonchalance while her gold Jimmy Choo ‘Jane’ sandals add a hit of sparkle and shine.

Overall it’s a lovely, well-polished look and it’s great to see the jumpsuit given a new spin. I just wish she’d added a pop of colour to this star-studded evening. A pink lip would have complemented the navy perfectly, don’t you think?

Fashionista of 2013 – Olivia Palermo

Fashionista of 2013 – Olivia Palermo

Stylista, fashionista, accessory aficionada… Olivia Palermo has marched to the beat of her trendsetting style drum throughout the year, whether she’s on the red carpet or on the sidewalks of New York City.

More often than not, the socialite favours a signature boho-chic, ethnic-inspired approach matched with a feminine aesthetic, which is often manifested through a range of refined, yet relaxed, looks by London designers.

Her ensembles are never without an accessory (or five), as she always fluffs up her ensembles with plenty of accoutrements—think armloads of bangles, doorknocker necklaces, oversized shades, her go-to Aquazurra heels, and bold belts and handbags.

We’ve seen her in everything from Alexander Wang to Louis Vuittion, Tibi and Willow, with her embrace of the high-street quite evident, as well. Over the past year, she’s shown off outfits from ASOS, Topshop, Whistles and Zara.

Yet she is also not afraid to go bold with sultry Roberto Cavalli gowns such as those at the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala and the Cannes Film Festival.

Whether she’s posing at a posh party, or on her best street-chic behaviour in off-duty looks that are perfectly put-together, or retaining her place as a front-row regular at Fashion Week, Olivia works the fashionista angle in more ways than one.
