Fendi New York Flagship Boutique Inauguration Party

Fendi New York Flagship Boutique Inauguration Party

On Friday (February 13) Fendi celebrated the opening of their New York flagship store during New York Fashion Week.

Rihanna: The singer, who designed a 3Baguette and micro baguette in aid of her Clara Lionel Foundation, wore a bronze leather Fendi archive dress styled with a pink chinchilla coat and Manolo Blahnik sandals. The look would’ve worked better sans coat.

Sarah Jessica Parker: The actress opted to go sans fur wearing a Fendi Spring 2015 look that was a feast for the eyes with its many colours, fabrications and layers. The smoky eye was perhaps too heavy for my liking, but I’m too distracted by her custom 3Baguette bag and stunning sandals.

Hailee Steinfeld: My first thought was that it was refreshing to see the young star in colour, then I realised she does often embrace colour but not always as boldly as this Pre-Fall 2015 look. A part of me feels there is too much going on, but the right side of my brain loves it from head to toe.

Olivia Palermo for Flare February 2015

FLR02_Cover

Olivia Palermo shares the love and lust-themed edition of Flare’s February 2015 issue with gorgeous hubby, model Johannes Huebl, for the which hits newsstands on Monday, January 13.

The socialite talks to the mag about everything from her take on social media at fashion shows to her long-term goal of owning a skiwear brand.

Perhaps styling is on the cards in Olivia’s future because when asked about head-to-runway looks, “How boring!” was her response.

This comes as no surprise considering Olivia is known for her artful signature mixing of high and low items and her keen eye for accessorizing.

Here are some extracts from her interview.

On her friendship MO: “I’ve always been someone that enjoys being around my elders more than people my own age.”

On her fashion philosophy: “You can always see it’s my sense of style at the end of the day.”

On her famous custom-made Carolina Herrera wedding ensemble: “I’m very much a fashion person. It was like going to any other market appointment and finding something I liked.”

On her stint as a reality TV villain on ‘The City': “It was a learning experience that I got out of the way early.”

On the learning experience she got out of ‘The City': “Once the cameras were out and I could go home, I decided to stay and sit in on global marketing meetings and really build my education. I asked if I could join out of curiosity and being young and wanting to learn.”

On why she started her website, OliviaPalermo.com: “The industry has changed so much in the last 10 years, especially with the move to online. Between online evolving and e-commerce growing, it was the perfect time to start my website.”

On how she gets ahead in business: “Success is never missing a day of work.”

On her #1 pet peeve – people snapping photos front-row: “You’re not focusing in the same way if you weren’t snapping away. Designers have worked too hard for you to take 25 pictures. Beautiful ones will be up on Style.com anyway!”

On her love of new design talent: “We really try to give young designers a platform on OliviaPalermo.com, highlighting their work and showing our support.”

On her future plans for Olivia Palermo world domination: “We’re fortunate to get a fair amount of [collaboration] requests. We will continue with that, but at some point it’s important to have everything under our own brand. There’s a long-term plan to it all, but everything comes in stages.”

Fashionista of 2014 – Olivia Palermo

Fashionista of 2014 – Olivia Palermo

If there’s anyone who personifies the word ‘fashionista,’ it has to be Olivia Palermo. So it’s only natural that the socialite has clenched the title yet again for 2014 after her win as Fashionista of 2013.

Jetsetting to all the major style capitals on the regular, she’s never far from a fashion gala or a front-row seat at Valentino, Christian Dior, Burberry Prorsum, and Marchesa shows, to name but a few.

Of course, her street style is on point too, as is a prerequisite for any fashionistas worth their salt, making Olivia’s closet the ultimate wish-list destination.

Her calling card may be boho-chic style, but she’s become a veritable chameleon, changing her fashion stripes on every occasion. She can just as easily wear an elegant gown as she can a grass-green, retro-inspired Valentino coat and shorts combo. She has even offered her own spin on prairie-girl-chic, artfully pairing a vintage brown leather skirt and crisp Ann Taylor white button-down shirt.

Yet what really makes Olivia’s style significant is her ability to impart her own interesting twist on every single one of her looks, often embellished with punchy accessories.

She really is a sort of master mixologist, creatively combining pieces and garnishing them with a bold clutch here, a snazzy shoe there, and always a dash of statement jewelry for good measure.

Olivia Palermo In Gerard Darel & Tibi – Nacho Figueras And St. Regis Hotels & Resorts Celebrate The Holiday Season

Olivia Palermo In Gerard Darel & Tibi - Nacho Figueras And St Regis Hotels & Resorts Celebrate The Holiday Season

Olivia Palermo attended Nacho Figueras and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts Celebrate the Holiday Season held at the St. Regis on Saturday (December 13) in New York City.

Looking as stylish as ever, the socialite donned winter whites, selecting a chunky-knit Gerard Darel sweater. The look became even more interesting with the colourful knit scarf wrapped around her shoulders.

I love the fluid lines and dynamic shape of Olivia’s Tibi cloqué midi skirt with its flared hemline, which makes for an exciting statement piece.

Simple black Jimmy Choo ‘Toni’ leather over-the-knee boots rounded out this luxe winter look.

Are there too many statements being made here or does the look work in perfect harmony?

Valentino New York Sala Bianca 945 Event

Valentino New York Sala Bianca 945 Event

Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli hosted their first Valentino Haute Couture show in New York City on Wednesday (December 10).

The one-off special show, which was an homage to the designer’s famous 1968 white collection, was in celebration of Valentino’s Fifth Avenue flagship store, attracting many celebrity guests who are all big fans of the brand.

Emma Roberts: The young actress instantly caught my eye in her uber-sweet Valentino sugary pink frock with flared cuffs and a multicoloured floral collar. While I love the contrasting mauve Valentino clutch, the Valentino taupe pumps don’t work for me.

Padma Lakshmi: The TV host never fails to provide a jaw-dropping moment, this time wearing a super-sweet Valentino orange-hued mini dress amped up with a pair of sexy black over-the-knee boots.

Karolina Kurkova: I was charmed by the statuesque beauty, who was serving up lace and colourful florals. Her bold, intricate look was enhanced with red pumps, which matched her glossy lips, and a hot-pink clutch. She can do no wrong.
