Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji – 2015 Oscars

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - 2015 Oscars

Octavia Spencer was back on the red carpet at the 2015 Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday (February 22).

There will perhaps be no utters of surprise that the actress wore her favoured designer, Tadashi Shoji, for the evening’s festivities.

After a rare misstep in the designer-star pairing, the duo was back on firm footing with this custom creation in a glorious shade of mint green.

She style the off-the-shoulder, draped and embellished design simply and beautifully with diamond-encrusted earrings, a tonal Judith Leiber clutch and a sleek updo.

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji – ‘Black or White’ LA Premiere

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - 'Black or White' LA Premiere

Octavia Spencer attended the Los Angeles premiere of ‘Black or White’ held at Regal Cinemas on Tuesday (January 20) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress was once again dressed by her favourite designer, Tadashi Shoji, wearing a custom black velvet illusion-neckline three-quarter-sleeve dress with velvet paillettes inserts and frayed edges.

Sadly, this is my least favourite look from Tadashi for Octavia.

There is way too much going on, distracting from rather than enhancing her beauty.

The look was styled with a Rauwolf clutch and Jimmy Choo ‘Vexil’ sandals.

A rare misstep from the dynamic duo.

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji – ‘Black And White’ Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - 'Black And White' Toronto Film Festival Premiere

Octavia Spencer hit the red carpet for the premiere of the film ‘Black and White’ at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival on September 6 in Toronto, Canada.

She looked ravishing in a green lace-accented Tadashi Shoji dress with a geometric Rauwolf clutch and EF Collection Diamond X ring.

This color looks gorgeous on the lovely Octavia, and I love the accent choices she made. The gold sandals and clutch are eye-catching and trendy, and the white pedicure is fun and flirty.

Simple curls and barely there makeup complete the ensemble.

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji – 2014 Emmy Awards

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - 2014 Emmy Awards

Octavia Spencer was a presenter at the 2014 Emmy Awards, held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Monday (August 25).

Joining the evening’s red-gown-clad group, the ‘Red Band Society’ actress continued to pledge allegiance to her favoured designer, Tadashi Shoji, in a custom gown.

Highlighted by sash-like draping that curved around an embellished, short-sleeve bodice, the dress delivered on drama.

A deep crimson Rauwolf octagonal clutch and ruby gemstone Lorraine Schwartz earrings maintained the colour scheme. That said, her barely-there makeup had me wondering if she forgot her red lipstick.

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji – Film Independent Spirit Awards 2014

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji - Film Independent Spirit Awards 2014

Octavia Spencer attended the 2014 Film Independent Spirit Awards, hosted at Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California on Saturday (March 1).

Relying on her favoured tried-and-true designer Tadashi Shoji, the actress wore a black-and-nude lace cocktail frock from the Spring 2014 collection.

Unfortunately, I just couldn’t get behind this look like I can with her other sleekly sophisticated Shoji statements.

Although I would have liked to see her in a more vibrant, sunny colour for this event, the sassy dress was not really the problem here, as it was a victim of its styling.

The black Jimmy Choo ‘Candy’ clutch was fine, but I wanted to rip off the black scarf that basically covered the entire ensemble whilst exchanging the ankle-strap platform sandals by Prada for a more streamlined pair.
