Who Wore Emilio Pucci Better…Lily Aldridge or Noomi Rapace?

Who Wore Emilio Pucci Better Lily Aldridge or Noomi Rapace

Lily Aldridge wore this sleek red velvet Emilio Pucci suit to the Harper’s Bazaar Celebrates Icons by Carine Roitfeld event last month, styling her look with a sheer orange blouse.

The same look was barely recognisable when Noomi Rapace wore it in fuchsia-pink a few weeks later with a pink necktie blouse for the San Sebastian International Film Festival premiere of ‘Automata’.

The problem with Noomi’s look is that the suit was approximately two sizes too big. Even with the excessively long trousers, Lily made this look work for her.

Lily wins by a landslide.

Lanvin Spring 2015 Front Row

Lanvin Front Row Spring 2015

Noomi Rapace and Kim Kardashian, who earlier in the day had taken their front row seats at Balmain, also attended the Lanvin Spring 2015 show alongside Ciara on Thursday (September 25) in Paris, France during Fashion Week.

Noomi Rapace: Upon looking at this Lanvin Pre-Fall 2014 striped suit paired with a fur stole, I’ve just realized it’s not the clothes that I object to; rather, it’s the unfortunate hair and makeup Noomi is working during fashion week.

Kim Kardashian: The reality star didn’t need to do much to ensure all eyes were on her, but just in case she opted to attend the show with at least two-thirds of her breast hanging out. While she is wearing a top under the blazer, the look leaves little to the imagination.

Ciara: I was hoping that Ciara could save this front row but I’m a fan of neither the oversized leather Lanvin Fall 2014 coat nor the makeup. I hope she finds her way back to glory soon. I haven’t really liked anything she’s worn since she made her return to the red carpet.

Balmain Spring 2015 Front Row

Balmain Spring 2015 Front Row

Olivier Rousteing presented his Spring 2015 collection for Balmain yesterday (September 25), sending some of our favourite models down the runway including Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. Here’s a look at who saw the show first hand in the front row.

Noomi Rapace: Hmm… I’m starting to think that Noomi has lost her mojo. Usually styled to perfection, this zebra-print blazer and striped sequin dress effort doesn’t impress me much as the styling is so uninspired. You can tell she just threw it on.

Kim Kardashian: Seated in the front row alongside her mother and husband, Kanye West, to see her kid sister Kendal Jenner take the runway, the reality star made a better representation of a Balmain girl. Dressed in a Balmain Resort 2015 patterned frock, the piece was styled with Balmain lace-up booties and accessorized with a choker and cuffs from the Spring 2015 collection. Love her or hate her, she looked much better than Noomi Rapace.

Noomi Rapace In Emilio Pucci – ‘Automata ‘San Sebastian Film Festival

Noomi Rapace In Emilio Pucci - 'Automata 'San Sebastian Film Festival

Noomi Rapace attended the ‘Automata’ premiere during the 62nd San Sebastian International Film Festival held at the Kursaal Palace in Spain on Sunday (September 21).

I always find myself swooning upon sight of a velvet suit in a bold hue during fall, but I didn’t find myself doing that on this occasion.

The fit is the issue. This Emilio Pucci fuchsia suit, especially the blazer, feels like it is too big for Noomi, plus I’m not crazy about the styling.

Perhaps my view of this look has been slightly blurred by Lily Aldridge, who you may remember wore this same suit in a red hue earlier this month with significantly greater success.

Noomi Rapace In Antonio Berardi & Vionnet – ‘The Drop’ Toronto Film Festival Photocall & HFPA & InStyle’s 2014 TIFF Celebration

Noomi Rapace In Antonio Berardi & Vionnet - 'The Drop' Toronto Film Festival Photocall & HFPA & InStyle's 2014 TIFF Celebration

Noomi Rapace attended the photocall of the film ‘The Drop’ and the HFPA & InStyle’s 2014 TIFF Celebration on September 6 at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival in Toronto, Canada.

Photocall: For the photocall of her film, Noomi wore a long-sleeved, black Antonio Berardi dress with a flared skirt from the designer’s Fall 2014 collection. Black platforms, lots of delicate gold rings and a few pink streaks in her long, blonde hair finished the look.

Party: A Vionnet pink wool tuxedo with pony hair collar worn with a sheer lace top is definitely an eye-catcher on the red carpet, and despite the fact that Noomie’s hair streak matches the suit perfectly, she opted to pull it back into a low, braided bun. You may recall that we’ve previously seen this suit on Lorde.

Noomi Rapace In Givenchy – European Film Awards 2013

Noomi Rapace In Givenchy - European Film Awards 2013

Following the Marrakesh Film Festival, Noomi Rapace headed to Berlin, Germany for the European Film Awards 2013 which took place on Saturday evening.

Joining Diane Kruger on the red carpet at this event, the Swedish actress selected a Givenchy Fall 2013 look consisting of a sheer embroidered sweater with flame-print sleeves, a signature star appliqué neckline, and a paisley-print maxi skirt.

While I appreciate the edgy, romantic nature of this look (which she notched up with a sleek bun and feline eyes) it doesn’t feel grand enough for an awards ceremony.

For something with less formality, this would’ve been a perfect way for her to showcase her alternative style.

Noomi Rapace In Elie Saab Couture – ‘Fernando Solanas’ Marrakech Film Festival Tribute

Noomi Rapace In Elie Saab Couture - 'Fernando Solanas' Marrakech Film Festival Tribute

Noomi Rapace made her second appearance on the red carpet during the 13th Marrakech International Film Festival for the ‘Fernando Solanas’ Tribute in Morocco yesterday evening.

The Swedish actress also wore her second Elie Saab gown, selecting a rich-red caped gown with an embellished bodice from the Spring 2013 Couture collection.

This look really commands your attention in a way the first one didn’t. This is more like the Noomi I know and love: bold and fearless.

Opting for a nude lip on this occasion, she completed her look with a side-parted bun.

Does this presentation live up to your expectations?

Noomi Rapace In Elie Saab - 'Waltz for Monica' Marrakech Film Festival Premiere

Noomi Rapace attended the ‘Waltz for Monica’ premiere during the 13th Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco on Wednesday evening.

The now-blonde actress wore an Elie Saab Fall 2013 black boat-neck silk-georgette gown, accented with a gold belt, which featured a dramatic drape cascading into a train.

Adding yet more bling to her look via a selection of gold jewels, Noomi’s flawless take on modern glamour was completed with a bold red lip colour.
