Nina Dobrev In Naeem Khan - The Vampire Diaries 100th Episode CelebrationNina Dobrev blew out the candles at ‘The Vampire Diaries’ 100th Episode Celebration yesterday, which was held in Atlanta, Georgia.

Showing off one of designer Naeem Khan’s non-gown confections, she debuted a starburst of a mini-dress—a fresh, fanciful look from the Spring 2014 collection.

The actress kept far away from vampy territory in this bright, flora- and fauna-embroidered frock that featured a brilliant rainbow of hues, which she complemented with a midnight-blue clutch and strappy sandals.

Nina did leave the braided updo on the runway, letting her long, raven locks cascade into ringlets. She also took a more minimal makeup route, with a nude lip and only a light smokey eye. No need to add more colour here.

This bold statement was short and sassy, but simultaneously chic and sophisticated. Talk about having your cake and eating it, too.

Who Wore Max Mara Better Nina Dobrev or Malin Akerman

Back in March Nina Dobrev wore a red-haute one-shoulder Max Mara jumpsuit to The Hollywood Reporter’s Most Powerful Hollywood Stylists luncheon with her stylist Ilaria Urbinati.

The ‘Vampires Diaries’ star opted for gold accessories including a Devi Kroell clutch and Jimmy Choo ‘Biel’ wedges.

Last month Malin Akerman wore the same jumpsuit to the Television Critics Association’s Summer Press Tour, opting for much simpler styling of just nude pumps with a glossy red lip to complement her look.

Nina wins for me as I prefer her gold accessories and the length of the pants, which stop just at the ankle.

Nina Dobrev In Julien Macdonald - Cosmopolitan's Summer Bash

Nina Dobrev attended Cosmopolitan’s Summer Bash held at Palihouse in West Hollywood, California on Saturday, where she stunned once again.

This time the September cover star wore a Julien Macdonald Fall 2013 sleeveless mini dress featuring nude sheer panels, which she styled with Elie Saab accessories including a gold clutch and white sandals.

Styling her hair in a quiffed ponytail, the actress completed her party look with kohl-rimmed eyes and nude lips.

Nina Dobrev In J Mendel - 2013 Teen Choice Awards

Nina Dobrev would have surely turned heads on the red carpet at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday evening.

The ‘Vampire Diaries’ actress, who collected the Choice TV Actress: Fantasy/Sci-Fi surfboard, shunned a pretty summery dress for a more directional look from the J. Mendel Pre-Fall 2013 collection which is why she’s always top of best dressed lists.

The splatter-paint-printed top with a v-neckline and matching slim-fit pants was given an additional pop of colour via her orange Devi Kroell clutch, with green Dolce & Gabbana sandals and Martin Katz diamond button earrings completing the look.

I love that, like Selena Gomez, Nina gave us something a bit unexpected and not the teen-queen look many were expecting.

Nina Dobrev covers the September 2013 issue of Cosmopolitan US wearing a strapless Dior houndstooth dress with matching pumps captured by Matthias Vriens-McGrath.

The rest of the ‘Vampires Diaries’ editorial sees her wearing signature Fall 2013 looks from Gucci, Louis Vuitton and Valentino.

Nina opens up to Cosmo about her friendship with Julianne Hough, her plans to open a yoga studio, and her views on relationships.

Here are some extracts from her interview.

On what she’s working on at the moment: “I want to open my own yoga studio. Planning construction and looking at properties is fun. I’m using a different part of my brain. You know that feeling when you use a different muscle? You’re excited to be exercising it but you get a little sore! Yoga changed my life. Hopefully, it will do that for others.”

On whether she puts a lot of pressure on herself: “Maybe. I can take a lot of pressure though. I’m constantly trying to make myself better, to learn more. I didn’t finish college, so I feel like I’m always having to prove myself. I don’t want to feel like the smallest person in the room.”

On what attracts her to a guy: “You either have chemistry or you don’t, but a lot of what attracts me is a guy’s mind and humor and talent. I need to get to know all those things before I fall for someone. I’m not a one-night-stand kind of girl. I’m a relationship girl.

On her type: “I’m progressive in some ways, old-fashioned in others. I like it when guys hold the door open and are sweet and thoughtful. The guys on our show are really good at that. A man in a suit looking put together and dapper is very attractive, but I also kind of like the I-just-rolled-out-of-bed, a-little-bit-of-scruff, effortless, not-trying-hard-but-still-sexy guy. If a guy spends more time looking in the mirror than I do, that’s problem!”

On her friendship with Julianne Hough: “It’s been cool to find an active buddy – there are lots of girlie girls around. We don’t talk about makeup; we talk about life.”

On whether it’s nice to have a friend who’s also gone through a breakup: “That’s not what our friendship is about. Unfortunately, that’s how it’s perceived, but there’s more to us. People aren’t defined by their relationships. The whole point is being true to yourself and not losing yourself in relationships, whether romances or friendships.”
