2018 SAG Awards Red Carpet Roundup

We always do our best to cover everyone, but a few slip through the net. Here is our final sweep of the red carpet for the 2018 SAG Awards.

Kate Nash: My first reaction to Kate in this Bora Aksu dress was, “yikes”, followed by “what on earth possessed you?” Too many frills, too prairie and too much going on; especially from the waist down. This was easily my least favourite of the night.

Niecy Nash: The actress, who was one of the presenters on the night, wore a gorgeous green-hued Julea Domani gown. As always Niecy leaves me spellbound, as she consistently picks the right looks to enhance her gorgeous figure.

‘Cabiria, Charity, Chastity’ New York Premiere

Kenzo’s creative directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim hosted the ‘Cabiria, Charity, Chastity’ premiere in New York City on Wednesday (September 13), alongside Natasha Lyonne.

Chloe Sevigny: The actress wore a Kenzo Spring 2018 crinkled satin dress styled with white go-go boots which suited the ’60s vibe she was going for within this look.

Natasha Lyonne: As the host of the event, the ‘OITNB’ actress was naturally in head-to-toe Kenzo. I can’t say I’m a fan of this look. The oversized blazer is impeccably cut, but on the actress – along with the styling – overwhelms her petite frame. Less would’ve been more in this case.

Netflix FYSEE Kick-Off Event

Netflix’s FYSEE Kick-Off event took place on Monday (May 7) in Beverly Hills, California, with plenty of young talent hitting the red carpet.

Brit Marling: Favouring modern minimalism Brit’s Louis Vuitton vibrant red dress was of course styled with LV ankle boots; as it would appear these dresses were not made for those who favour sandals.

Gillian Jacobs: The actress’ love for colourful prints took a back seat when she opted for this romantic Sandro black lace embellished dress. It’s a change of pace which paid off nicely, mostly due to the styling which included a Jennifer Behr headband. I’m glad she didn’t try to take this too far down a goth route.

Natasha Lyonne: The ‘OITNB’ actress’ Rodarte dress certainly doesn’t shy away from print, yet I still feel a bit underwhelmed.

Coach & Rodarte Spring 2017 Collaboration Dinner Party

Last night, Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy and Coach’s Stuart Vevers celebrated the forthcoming Coach & Rodarte collection, launching worldwide on April 12th.

Consisting of ready-to-wear and leather goods that merge the established tradition of Coach with the younger, avant-garde spirit of Rodarte, the capsule collection delivers the height of both styles and will be available from April 12th at Coach.com and April 14th at Coach stores and specialty retailers worldwide.

The three designers celebrated their collaboration at a private dinner at Hollywood’s iconic Musso & Frank Grill, where there were no shortage of starlets in attendance with each showing off the collection’s cool-girl looks.

Bella Heathcote: The idea of an embellished, leather dress took on new meaning with this softer, feminine shape that dazzled in a striking array of sequined floral. The sophistication of tough-chic leather continued with her burgundy heels and chain-link mini clutch. It was the blue eye shadow that was more of an acquired taste.

Yara Shahidi: Yara completely sold this look to me, tempering the girly nature of the embellished, bow-accented dress with the sporty, varsity jacket emblazoned with flowers. I would have never paired such a sizable handbag or the bronze platform sandals, but she makes it all work together.

Chloe Moretz: Never ceasing to impress, Chloe made a striking statement with her top-to-toe rock-star swagger. The leather moto jacket featured a similar floral sequin motif as Yara’s bag and Bella’s dress. However, the simplicity of the black jumpsuit underneath really allowed the jacket to shine, with her punk-pretty makeup elevating the strong attitude of the ensemble even more.

2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards Red Carpet Roundup

More stars were also in attendance at the 2017 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (February 25) in Santa Monica, California.

Danielle Brooks: The ‘OITNB’ actress took the plunge in an Urban Zen by Donna Karan wrap jersey tunic and pant, complemented by a body chain—as if enough attention wasn’t already directed to the girls.

Natasha Lyonne: The actress took a custom Creatures of The Wind rose and green floral dresses out for a spin. The pleated frock held promise, but I couldn’t see the forest for the trees given the clunky, distracting styling with the oversized white clutch and ivory boots.
