Aja Naomi King In A.L.C. – 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Aja Naomi King In ALC - 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Aja Naomi King attended the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards held at Santa Monica Beach on Saturday (February 21) in Santa Monica, California.

Glowing with the sheer brilliance of the sun, the ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ star was sure to turn heads in her A.L.C. Spring 2015 sunshine-yellow dress which puts me in a jubilant mood.

I love her Kurt Geiger London ‘Britton’ pumps, with its vivid snake printed, as they pack a mighty strong punch adding an unexpected, but welcome, twist to her look.

Adorable from head to toe.

Julianne Moore attended the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (February 21), hosted at Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California.

Nominated for her lead role in ‘Still Alice,’ the actress skipped the black in favour of a verdant, celadon-green hue, dazzling on the red carpet in a Christian Dior Spring 2015 Couture confection.

With all-over embellishment, the paillette-encrusted frock was shed of its runway opera coat and vinyl thigh boots, which would have been overkill.

In their place, black ankle-strap platform pumps corresponded with the black accent detailing at the dress’s neckline to finish what was a more experimental, flashy look for Julianne.

Rinko Kukuchi was also at the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (February 21), hosted at Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California.

The Japanese actress, nominated for Best Female Lead in ‘Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter,’ channeled her inner pattern princess in a Chanel Resort 2015 dress.

Opting to simplify the ensemble from its original runway styling, she wore it sans the matching pants and contrasting caftan overcoat for a less Eastern-inspired exotic flair.

That’s not to say the boldly exploded floral print wasn’t vivid enough.

I just wish she had styled this statement frock differently—I could have lived with the silver metallic sandals, but there was no need for her bright makeup to echo the Crayola shades of her dress. Barely-there would have been better here.

Kerry Washington attended the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (February 21), hosted at Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California.

The ‘Scandal’ actress opted for an LBD, hers from the Balenciaga Spring 2015 collection.

Impeccably sleek, but also rather austere, the design’s geometric lines and tonal embellishment at the neckline contributed a subtle yet powerful edge to the look.

Glittery black Manolo Blahnik pumps and Tiffany & Co. jewels finished the statement with the slightest touch of sparkle. A brightly coloured lip would have even further enhanced the effect.

Seriously chic or too serious?

Olivia Munn In Prabal Gurung – 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Olivia Munn In Prabal Gurung - 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Olivia Munn glided onto the red carpet of the 2015 Film Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday (February 21) at Santa Monica Beach in Santa Monica, California.

Bringing a heightened sense of languid glamour to the event, she donned a Prabal Gurung Fall 2014 backless gown with a glittery sequined, halter-neck bodice and a softly layered, wispy chiffon skirt.

She wears colour so well, and the same goes for this captivating shade of coral.

Styling the dress with a Jimmy Choo ‘Box’ clutch and Piaget jewels, she completed the dramatic ensemble with an oxblood lip and long waves, although a sleeker, brushed-back ’do would have served the neckline better.
