Keri Russell In Altuzarra – 2015 Met Gala

Keri Russell In Altuzarra - 2015 Met Gala

Keri Russell attended the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

The actress alighted in a custom Altuzarra side-slit gown embellished with emerald and iridescent blue feathers.

Adding a touch of minimal sparkle were Ana Khouri earrings and a Solange Azagury-Partridge ring.

A super-smoky eye completed her goth siren look.

Rachel Weisz In Chanel Couture – 2015 Met Gala

Rachel Weisz In Chanel Couture - 2015 Met Gala

Rachel Weisz looked lovely as she walked the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City tonight (May 4).

Donning a silver Chanel Couture gown with delicate grey beading, Rachel looks like a porcelain doll. But, dare I say it, the gown is completely underwhelming! The runway version has so much more editorial appeal, but this strapless iteration is much too dull for such an occasion.

Flawless skin, a matte red lip and matching mani/pedi, old Hollywood waves and a slightly smokey eye finish the look.

Solange Knowles In Giles – 2015 Met Gala

Solange Knowles attended the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Walking on the darker side, the songstress wore a Giles Fall 2015 design that breaks from more traditional Chinese styling. I would have never initially envisioned it for the evening.

Yet there is something about this sculpted, fan-shaped frock and its mind-bending, holographic print that is impactfully alluring—if only for its mod weirdness.

That said, it almost leaves me questioning, why not wear the even more extravagant cape at the back, too?

Allison Williams In Giambattista Valli Couture – 2015 Met Gala

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

Allison Williams made a red hot statement on the red carpet of the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City tonight (May 4).

Her bright red Giambattista Valli Custom Haute Couture embroidered silk dress is accented with stunning diamond Fred Leighton jewels.

I’m blown away by this gown. The combination of the voluminous, tulle-accented skirt, the shimmering black detailing on the bodice and the high waistline is complete perfection, and Allison brings it to life so gracefully. While it may not scream ‘China’ to me, it is too divine to worry about the night’s theme.

Unlike many ladies tonight, who are going for daring, bold beauty looks, Allison’s kept her makeup understated and went for a completely mute lip–I choice a love alongside the dramatic gown.

Kerry Washington In Prada – 2015 Met Gala

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

Kerry Washington made a grand entrance at the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Sweeping onto the red carpet in a flourish of pink satin, the actress wore a Prada high-low gown with sparkling tonal embellishment that was also reflected in her Harry Winston jewels.

I actually fell in love with this voluminous confection from the back, where the vast proportions of the train provided an enchanted silhouette. But I wasn’t as captivated by the front, as the bodice translated as a bit constricting and cumbersome.

Jewel-toned green accessories provided another element of quirk that’s always part of a Prada look.

Jessica Chastain In Givenchy – 2015 Met Gala

Jessica Chastain In Givenchy - 2015 Met Gala

Jessica Chastain attended the 2015 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Dripping in gold, she infused a strong Midas touch and plenty of va-va-voom flair into the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ event in her custom Givenchy plunge gown.

The slinky metallic dress provided full-on glamour, and I love the way it radiated against the retro curls of her flame-red locks and ruby lip.

Did her look pay homage to the evening’s theme enough for you?
