Front Row @ Chanel Spring 2018

The final day of Paris Fashion Week brought with it a 50-foot waterfall like only designer Karl Lagerfeld can create at his water-themed Chanel Spring 2018 collection on Tuesday (October 3), where Chanel-clad guests sat front row to witness the show.

Clemence Poesy: Classic Chanel tweed took a less expected turn with Clemence’s pairing of pearls and cuffed pants. Lug-sole loafers completed the look, which had a certain unconventional boyish-charm.

Sophie Cookson: Meanwhile, the LBD got a Chanel lift with the logo belt, quilted clutch, and over-the-knee boots for an eternally chic look.

Monica Bellucci: Wearing her favoured colour of black, Monica kept her look simple and sophisticated with a coat and slim trousers.

Monica Bellucci In Valentino – 65th San Sebastian Film Festival: Donostia Award

Monica Bellucci received the Donostia Award during 65th San Sebastian Film Festival on Wednesday (September 27) in Spain.

The Italian actress is a lover of all things black, but she will throw us a red or green curve ball every once in a while.

On this occasion her colour of choice was rose-pink, and I’m instantly smitten.

Some might say this is Valentino dress is dated, but I only see the beauty in this piece with its swathes of silk chiffon pleats which bring a lightness that is impossible to resist.

I especially love the delicate sleeves, that give the silhouette intrigue and augment the floaty, feminine allure.

In short, J’Adore.

Cartier jewels completed her look.

Monica Bellucci In Dolce & Gabbana – 2017 Cannes Film Festival Closing Ceremony

As mistress of ceremonies, Monica Bellucci brought the 2017 Cannes Film Festival to an end yesterday evening (May 29) at the closing ceremony.

I knew the Italian actress would we Dolce & Gabbana on this occasion, the only surprising thing was she didn’t wear D&G throughout.

The rich embroidered design really lived up to the grand occasion and the grandiose of the women herself.

But, if I was to nitpick, I wish the tulle layers has been black.

Despite my misgivings about her Chanel look, this was a flawless run for me.

Monica Bellucci In Gucci – Cannes 70th Anniversary Dinner

As you know I wasn’t excited about Monica Bellucci’s Chanel red carpet look, but I was blow away by the Gucci gown she wore to the Cannes Film Festival 70th anniversary dinner last night (May 23).

That’s mostly because I don’t ever recall seeing Monica opt for so much detail.

Her gown which is emboldened with eye-catching butterfly and insect embroideries and rainbow sequin stripes is a huge break from the norm; and while I’m thoroughly intrigued, I do wish she done something different with her hair.

Not only because it would’ve made for a refreshing change, but also to show off that butterfly detail on the neckline.

The Gucci clutch might be too big for some peoples taste, but I think it ties the look nicely together.

Monica Bellucci In Chanel – Cannes Film Festival 70th Anniversary Celebration

The mistress of ceremonies is usually only seen on at the opening and closing ceremony, but as this was a special night celebrating the 70th anniversary of Cannes Film Festival, Monica Bellucci was back on the red carpet.

I have to say I’m not entirely sure about this gold sequin Chanel Pre-Fall 2017 gown on the Italian beauty.

I don’t want to like it just because it’s not black, because in truth, her best looks so far have all been outstanding in black.

My problem is this look isn’t allowing her true beauty to really shine through.

This is a rare miss for Monica. I’m almost certain I would’ve loved this black crepe or black velvet, as the silhouette is gorgeous.

Monica Bellucci In Vivienne Westwood Couture – Cannes Film Festival Opening Gala Dinner

Black hasn’t always been my preferred choice when it comes to red carpet dressing.

Often because the details can get lost, along with my perception of the colour being boring; but Monica Bellucci is making me question everything as her Vivienne Westwood Couture gown was the third all-black look that has left me in awe within the space of 24 hours.

Fast becoming my queen of Cannes, so far, the Italian beauty stunned in this velvet sequin gown with black onyx Swarowski crystals.

It’s the effortless of it all that sweeps me off my feet time and time again.

J’Adore.

And may I also note what an amazing run Vivienne Westwood is having at present with fashion homeruns also coming courtesy of Elle Fanning and Thandie Newton this week.
