Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2010

The Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2010 collection didn’t fail to bring us a stunning presentation of mini dresses.

The highlight for me were the denim pieces, as this is a material Azria hasn’t used before. He also used light jersey fabrics to create the iconic bandage dress, which only clung closer to the models slender figures.

To keep us interested the dresses were tie-dyed, patchworked and crochet. One white dress was slashed immediately reminding me of a similar dress Alexander Wang presented last season.

Models almost took a tumble, but thankfully they didn’t hit the deck.

See Amanda Bynes, a colour other than black works.

The actress had a rare moment of not wearing black to walk the red carpet wearing a blush bandage dress, which she paired with a BCBG Max Azria blazer and Herve Leger Black Snake-Embossed leather sandals.

Mischa Barton was the only one to opt for one of the more interesting runway Herve Leger dresses from the Fall 2009 collection.

Her dress was paired with chained heels which Amanda Bynes also wore and a silver cuff.

Hilary Duff bandage dress hugs her in all the right places.

The LDB is paired with nude pumps and a Goyard clutch.

Who Wore Verasce Better? Gwyneth Paltrow or Mischa Barton

Gwyneth Paltrow wore her sexy gold and silver sparkling Versace Spring 2009 mini strapless dress back in February, when she took to the stage at the 2009 Grammy Awards.

She kept her pins under-wraps by pairing her dress with dove grey opaque tights and gunmetal grey heels.

Mischa Barton was snapped on the set of her new show “The Beautiful Life”, wearing the same dress a few weeks ago.

She accessorized her look with a pair of contrastingly edgy studded ankle boots and let the dress do the rest of the talking.

I would’ve given this to Gwyneth easily if it weren’t for the tights. She has endless long legs, and she was indoors why did she feel the need for the tights?

Mischa wins by default.

GLSEN’s 2009 LA Respect Awards kick-off party, LA

We have yet another smile from Ginnifer Goodwin. Maybe it’s because she knows she looks so cute wearing a Brian Reyes Dolman polo blouse dress from the Spring 2009 collection.

I love the Clark Kent hairstyle.

The Boathouse, London

UK singer Little Boots wore a strapless Basso & Brooke Resort 2010 dress when she performed at the Boathouse in London this week.

This gorgeously colourful dress with fold and structured details, has a black background unlike many of the other pieces from this collection which have a white background giving the pieces a cloudy rainbow sky feel to them.

Planet Hollywood, New York

Alexis Bledel made an appearance at Planet Hollywood in New York to promote her new movie “Post Grad”.

The actress opted for a Kimberly Ovitz Jacob jersey dress, which unfortunately revealed her pale bra.

Wear a black bra under a black dress. It’s simple mathematics.

H&M ankle boots were added to give her look a bit of an edge.

Post Grad Screening And Party, LA

She faired much better at the LA screening wearing a navy Sachin and Babi for Ankasa Resort 2010 draped dress embellished with black sequins.

“Late Show With David Letterman”, New York

We don’t see Renee Zellweger for months and now she’s popping up everywhere promoting her latest movie.

The actress arrive at Letterman wearing an electric blue strapless dress with silver Louboutin heels.

I’ll take a wild guess that it’s by Carolina Herrera.

I wanted to love this because of the vibrant colour, but those fold details on the skirt really don’t work for me, especially on the long shot.

Her frizzy hair doesn’t appeal either.

Charlotte Ronson and JCPenney Celebrate “I Heart Ronson” Line, New York

Mischa Barton continues to party despite her recent troubles.

The actress – haven’t called her that in a long while – wore a black tank top with a colourful floral Topshop skirt.

To add more colour into the mix she paired her look with a hot pink twisted rope necklace her favourite Alexander McQueen pink strapped open-toe booties.

Hilary Duff adds a tribal print scarf to add interest to her t-shirt and leggings look.

Her look was complete with an Alexander McQueen Faithfull leather glove clutch.

When I see Sophia Bush at this event, all I can think of is ‘Why was she not invited to the InStyle Magazine’s Summer Soiree?’

That stylish event was right up her street.

The look is very shopping at The Grove. For once Sophia is not doing it for me.

Runway To “The Beautiful Life” Photo Shoot – Mischa Barton In Versace

Despite her recent troubles, Mischa Barton was in good spirits whilst continuing to film “The Beautiful Life” in New York today and she also shot the promo for the TV show.

The actress was admitted to hospital last month on what was reported to be an “involuntary psychiatric hold”. Ironically she plays a model turned-drug addict in the teen drama.

On set she wore a gold and silver embellished Versace Spring 2009 mini dress with studded ankle boots, whilst interacting with her co-stars as the cameras rolled.

I’m glad to see she’s looking healthy. The lollipop look really didn’t suit her.

Social Events Of The Week

“Public Enemies” London Premiere

Marion Cotillard looked stunning as the walked the red carpet in London tonight.

She’s back to that consistent form we saw during 2008 awards season and I love it.

Marion usually gives us Parisian chic, but on this occasion she gave us a flirty look wearing a racy red satin strapless Vivienne Westwood bustier pocketed dress.

Her hair was elegant coiffed into a beautiful quiff style, whilst a black Stella McCartney Fall 2009 embossed faux leather clutch and black peep-toes completed the look.

“Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” Screening & Party, Miami

Isabel Lucas sported yet another headband for this screening. It’s very much becoming her signature look.

The Australian actress looks gorgeous is a lilac RM by Roland Mouret Zonda TTD mini sleeveless dress with a gathered detail on the front.

Black pumps complete the look which are a bit unimaginative, but the dress is so gorgeous I can almost overlook that.

Stephanie Pratt is really stepping up in the style department.Â I guess those MTV cheques have finally cleared.

The Hills star wore a cute floaty French Connection blue and red dot dress with red peep-toes.

The one-shouldered mini dress has a sweetheart neckline and tiered frilly skirt.

Like her last time out it’s a case of great dress, shame about the bronzer.

22nd Annual ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards, LA

Before the BET Awards Alicia Keys attended this event wearing a BCBG Max Azria watercolour strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline and a flowing layered skirt.

Matching blue make-up, a silver necklace and matching clutch complete this stunning look.

36th Annual Vision Awards, LA

Ashley Greene opted for a very sophisticated look wearing a black and white ruched D&G dress with cute black pumps with a ruffled detail on the back of the heel.

She manages to look very mature, but not old nor old fashioned.

I love the glossy lips and the equally glossy hair.

Raise Hope For The Congo Event, LA

AnnaLynne McCord looked gorgeous in yet another impressive LBD by Eva Culture. She sure knows how to wow us on the red carpet.

I really adore her silver Rene Caovilla heels, such refreshing change from black and Christian Louboutin.

Opening of Harrods Summer Sale, London

Mischa Barton looks like she partied very hard the night before this event, because no matter how much eye make-up she plastered on I can still see the tell-tale signs.

Her look is what we’ve come to expect from her casual laid back style.

She wore a white shift dress with an embellished neckline plus a tan cross-body bag for that boho touch for which Mischa is best known.

On The “Beautiful Life” Set With Mischa Barton In Chanel, Dior, Dolce & Gabbana And Louis Vuitton

Here is Mischa Barton doing something we haven’t seen her do in a while.

WORK.

The former O.C. star was on set this week, for her new fashion-based TV show – Beautiful Life.

The actress will play a New York-based model in the pilot episode, which will also feature a cameo appearance from supermodel Elle Macpherson.

On Day One we got to see her on set wearing 4 major designers: Chanel, Christian Dior, Louis Vuitton, and Dolce & Gabbana.

Her Chanel bouclé white jacket with black trims, was given a nautical touch, with a striped Chanel top, and black shorts.

Another look consisted of a beige Christian Dior Spring 2009 polka dotted, floaty tiered mini dress, with a multiple layered white waist belt, a denim vest, and sand Christian Louboutin Deva suede fringed boots.

This white Dolce & Gabbana strappy tulle bustier dress has been worn many times, so it’s no surprise that it featured in Mischa’s on set wardrobe.

It seems like this show will be worth watching just for the fashion alone. It can fill that big empty void Sex And The City left, and Lucy Liu on Dirty Sexy Money can only partially fill.
