Celebrity Shoe Swap: Miranda Cosgrove

Miranda Cosgrove attended the Points Of Light Institute Tribute to former President George H.W. Bush wearing dark grey Stuart Weitzman patent pumps. These heels are distracting and don’t work with her peachy/pink/nude dress.

She needed a nude, blush or pastel coloured shoe.

Shoes Miranda Should Have Worn:

Brian Atwood’s blush coloured Wagner satin peep-toe pumps blend perfectly with Miranda’s outfit. This heel works well because the satin texture on the pump contrasts with the fabric on her dress.

The lilac Pour La Victoire Irina pumps are beautiful and complement the tint of purple featured on Miranda’s dress. This heel is age and event appropriate for Miranda.

Miu Miu’s antique rose leather platform pumps would have saved the day. They’re a much better shoe choice and work with the overall pinkish hue.

The Chrisse Morris nude and metallic bronze tassel pumps are such a fun shoe. If Miranda would have removed her necklace (which doesn’t work either) these heels would have been a unique shoe choice. They’re completely different from her dress but still work since they feature pink, nude and bronze colors.

Which pair would you pick for Miranda?

“Despicable Me” London Premiere – Miranda Cosgrove In Cut 25 by Yigal Azrouël

Tonight in London Miranda Cosgrove attended the premiere of her new computer-animated 3-D comedy movie, “Despicable Me” which also stars Russell Brand.

The young actress wore a Cut 25 by Yigal Azrouël Camo sequin dress from the Fall 2010 collection.

The camouflage micro sequin mini dress is from Yigal Azrouël’s contemporary, younger capsule collection which has an edgier vibe.

I love her Giuseppe Zanotti black suede lace up booties which I think gives the mini dress even more energy.

Miranda is one of those teen stars who’s moving into an edgier more grown up direction on the red carpet, but it never feels forced.

She always carries herself with great confidence and never tries too hard.

I love this look.

62nd Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards – Cocktail Dresses

The 62nd Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place in LA yesterday, with many stars opting to go short.

Miranda Cosgrove of course went short.

The teen star opted for an adorable Marchesa silver embroidered strapless mini dress which she wore with our second ‘favourite’ red carpet heels – the Casadei triple platform pumps.

A two-tone Genevieve Jones clutch completed the look.

Mel B looked beautiful wearing a black silk strapless WTB Fall 2010 dress with leather peplum.

Mel continued the black theme pairing her dress with a black clutch and black peep-toes.

I’m hot just looking at her.

WTB is designed by designer/musician Nikki Lund and Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora. The collection premiered during LA Fashion Week back in March.

It’s a tad unfortunate that Mary Lynn Rajskub’s strapless BCBG Max Azria dress looks a little too tight on the bust, because her dress with the frothy tiered ruffled skirt is gorgeous and perfect for red carpet on a gloriously sunny day.

Chelsea Staub also opted for a cute frothy look.

Her BCBG Max Azria strapless pleated dress was worn with matching pumps.

I love the pop of colour via her red clutch.

Wanda Sykes opted for a autumn plum sparkler which she teamed with a silver Judith Leiber clutch and matching peep-toes.

Kristin Chenoweth looked gorgeous wearing a custom Matthew Christopher blue strapless dress with silver embellished details.

Silver Jimmy Choo heels complemented her mini.

Who Wore Alice + Olivia Better? Whitney Port, Miranda Cosgrove or Brooklyn Decker

Whitney Port was papped shopping in New York City wearing an Alice + Oliva sequin top.

Her look was also paired with Current/Elliott boyfriend jeans, a Valentino 360 studded bag and Loeffler Randall heels.

Miranda Cosgrove wore her stripes with black pants and biker boots to the “Frank and Derol” gig in West Hollywood early last month.

And finally Brooklyn Decker, Model and wife of Andy Roddick, showed she has great style by pairing her top with a khaki skirt and leopard print heels.

Brooklyn wins for me because her look effortless compared to Whitney, and closer to my personal style than Miranda’s.

This Alice + Oliva sequin top is available from Net-A-Porter.com, Shopbop.com and Bloomingdales.

“Despicable Me” LA Premiere – Miranda Cosgrove In Versus

Miranda Cosgrove proves that she loves the Versus Fall 2010 collection.

Her first look was at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, the second at the “Despicable Me” LA Premiere this weekend.

When I look at this, it’s clear that her Versus Fall 2010 black pleated skirt and plum velvet top was deliberately picked as not to clash with the yellow red carpet.

Had she worn the red or blue dresses from this collection the contrast would’ve been too harsh.

So no grumblings from me about another black summer dress on this occasion.

This look is cute without being too sweet, and grown up without looking like Miley Cyrus.

Christian Louboutin Georgineta heels and Neil Lane jewels complete the look.
