Sarah Paulson In Calvin Klein by Appointment – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Sarah Paulson attended the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

With a newly cropped bob, the actress offered a modern approach to sophisticated femininity in her Calvin Klein by Appointment gown.

I like how the ribbon-topped, sequin bodice was balanced by the satiny sweep of her ball skirt, each component adding dimension to the all-black statement.

Abbie Cornish In Moschino – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Like a number of stars at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California, Abbie Cornish relied on a flurry of scintillating embellishment to elevate her all-black look.

The modern keyhole detail of this Moschino long-sleeve gown was crucial to add a moment’s rest from the adornment of oversized paillettes.

What I found even more intriguing, though, were Abbie’s colourful earrings which added a subtle yet impactful flair to the look.

Octavia Spencer In Tadashi Shoji – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Octavia Spencer and designer Tadashi Shoji continued to be a dynamic red-carpet duo at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7) in Beverly Hills, California.

The actress’s favoured label constructed a custom piece for the occasion—and it shone brightly indeed.

The all-over sequin embellishment brought glittering dimensionality to the all-black look.

But, it was the flash of her bright turquoise earrings that I really loved, adding a bit of colourful radiance to this frock.

Jimmy Choo ‘Vexil’ sandals and Irene Neuwirth jewelry rounded out the look.

Natalie Portman In Christian Dior Couture & America Ferrera In Christian Siriano – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Natalie Portman was one of the stylish attendees at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7), joining a pregnant America Ferrera.

Both showed their support in black, with the ‘Jackie’ actress opting for a Dior Couture ensemble while America wore a custom Christian Siriano sequin gown with Stella Luna shoes.

Natelie’s dress had a luxurious Victorian feel from the rich black velvet and the long sleeves.

The low neckline and V-shaped cut-out added a sultry allure while helping to modernize the silhouette.

The belted version on the runway presented a different vibe. I would have liked to see the presenter wear a belt with some special detail as it would have helped make the look more memorable. Thoughts?

Christina Hendricks In Christian Siriano – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Christina Hendricks wowed on the 2018 Globes Red Carpet in a custom Christian Siriano trouser skirt combo.

While we’re used to seeing her in more form-fitting gowns, the actress looked like an Old Hollywood starlet in this draped off the shoulder ensemble.

The way the skirt opened to reveal trousers was both an unexpected and bold silhouette.

Christina’s bold lip almost matching her crimson hair made her makeup the highlight of this look.

Mary J Blige In Alberta Ferretti – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Mary J. Blige wowed at the 2018 Golden Globe Awards on Sunday (January 7), joining Angelina Jolie and Diane Kruger.

The ‘Mudbound’ actress was outfitted in a custom Alberta Ferretti gown which was in keeping with the night’s black dress code.

The designer wouldn’t have been the first one I would have expected her to wear, but this collaboration was successful as this look is very much in her wheelhouse.

The mix of fabrics has a decadence and doesn’t feel disjointed. Plus, the shine of the long sleeve was enhanced with Chopard jewels.

If I’m being fussy, I would have preferred a cuff that better coordinated with the shimmering material as the white jars with the rest of the look.

Michelle Pfeiffer In Christian Dior Couture – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Michelle Pfeiffer showed solidarity at the 2018 Golden Globes on Sunday (January 7) by wearing black.

The actress cut a chic figure in a Dior Couture blazer and maxi skirt. The look was a departure from the numerous sheer dresses we have seen from the house lately.

The sharpness of the belted jacket was softened by the tulle skirt with cascading embroidery.

She fully committed to the all-black theme by sporting a dark manicure.

What did you think of the separates?

Elisabeth Moss In Christian Dior Couture – 2018 Golden Globe Awards

Best actress nominee Elizabeth Moss graced the 2018 Golden Globes Red Carpet in a custom Dior Couture dress.

‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ star is no stranger to portraying powerful women, previously noted for her role as Peggy in ‘Mad Men.’

This tea length gown stood out with its beautifully embellished collar. Elizabeth wore pointy pumps, her hair in a soft updo and drop earrings to compliment the look.

The actress is among many who decided to wear black to the Globes.
