Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Milla Jovovich is the October 2012 cover girl for Canada’s best-selling fashion magazine FLARE.

On the cover she wears a feminine navy Calvin Klein dress which was accessorized with statement jewellery including Fallon earrings, a CBD bangle and a Baccarat ring, whilst inside we see her wearing an edgier look from Peter Pilotto.

The model, mum and ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’ star talks about dealing with anxiety on set, her mother’s tough love, and finding love with her husband Paul W.S. Anderson.

On playing an action hero in ‘Resident Evil: Retribution’: “You have to spend the whole day in this state of perpetual fear. The fight-or-flight instinct is in overdrive. It was a headache! Literally, my head would be pounding at the end of the day!”

On how she survived childhood bullying: “I knew it was so temporary. School is going to disappear, and there’s a whole future out there.”

On how her mother scared her straight: “I would always hear her whispering in my ear, ‘I’ll kill myself if anything happens to you!’ So, I kind of knew when to say no; when not to continue the party, because I whole-heartedly believed that if anything had happened to me my mom would have killed herself.”

On finding love with director Paul W.S. Anderson on the ‘Resident Evil’ franchise: “It kind of seems typical, but there’s no one else that you talk with as much as the director. If you’re going to fall in love, it’s hard for it not to happen with that person—the one you’re spending the most time with, and having the most interesting conversations. I think it would have been challenging for me to have made the movies and had a boyfriend that wasn’t working on the film too, because you get so into it.”

Milla Jovovich recently attended the opening of the Mandarin Oriental Bodrum in Turkey.

The ‘Resident Evil’ actress wore a Spring 2012 gown by Turkish designer Arzu Kaprol.

Her strapless printed dress with a gathered detail along the bust was simply styled with a gold clutch and red-hot lips.

I love the dress on the model, mostly because of how the thin ribbons managed to give the gown some shape.

Unfortunately that didn’t translate so well off the runway.

As always, it was a star-studded front row for the Chanel Fall 2013 Couture presentation on Tuesday morning.

Diane Kruger: I wasn’t too enamoured with Diane’s look. The blue Chanel Resort 2013 dress (her second from this collection) isn’t the issue, it’s the styling. The styling tells me she’s still on vacation mode. The baker boy hat and Christian Louboutin ‘Pigalle’ spike flats don’t work with this dress for me.

Poppy Delevigne: I much preferred Poppy’s look. Whilst considerably more laidback wearing a Chanel ensemble featuring a white shirt and denim skirt, the styling is perfected from her round sunnies to her shimmering Givenchy gold glitter sandals.

Alexa Chung: As always, I have a strong case of déjà vu when it comes to the British presenter. I’m sure many of you will agree that you feel like you’ve seen this look before….several times. Always in back-to-school mode, Alexa did opt for some interesting accessories on this occasion. Fur-trimmed Giuseppe Zanotti black strappy sandals and a mini Chanel patent quilted shoulder bag completed the look.

Leslie Mann: Usually I’m Leslie’s biggest fan, but I failed to get excited about her Chanel look which features an ivory pleated blouse which she teamed with a black tweed high-waisted pencil skirt. Her ensemble was very sophisticated but a tad boring, even with the addition of the red Chanel quilted bag.

Clemence Poesy: The French actress looked chic, as always, giving us an ‘I got dressed in 5 mins’ effortless look. Wearing a Chanel black embroidered and cap-sleeve dress with an A-line skirt and a cut-out back, she styled her look with a silver Chanel glitter clutch and black buckled Oxfords. Natural looking makeup and wavy tresses provided the finishing touches.

Milla Jovovich: This Chanel Resort 2013 dress is so very pretty, but feels too girlie for Milla. This look should’ve been saved for Elle Fanning.

Continuing her fashionable turn on the red carpet during the 2012 Cannes Film Festival, Milla Jovovich attended the amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala this evening.

For the second time this week, the actress wore an Atelier Versace Spring 2012 gown.

On this occasion, Milla chose a shimmering grey gown, complete with an architectural corset and metallic boning – a complete 180° from her previous acid green one-shouldered Versace look at the Life Ball 2012.

The space-age, bombshell-of-the-future look perfectly suited Milla, who accessorized the gown with a matching silver clip in her tousled bob and Sergio Rossi heels.

Like the dress, really dislike her styling.

You disliked the previous Atelier Versace gown. How does this one fair?

Milla Jovovich rarely fails to bring some major glamour to the red carpet, and she did not let us down at the de Grisogono party, held in Cannes on Wednesday night during Cannes Film Festival.

The actress looked like a million dollars wearing a plunging gold Prada gown decorated in oversized sequins.

A thigh-high side split and gilded neckline embroidery added to the vintage vibe of this look.

Milla played up the golden-girl factor with matching Swarovski chain earrings, an embellished minaudiere and strappy sandals.

A wavy bob and glossy lips complete the look.

It’s a shame she didn’t pack blot powder in her chic Sergio Rossi clutch.
