Miley Cryus In The Blonds - Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2014

You won’t be surprised that the most talked about person of 2013, Miley Cryus, was front and center for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 2014 with Ryan Seacrest held in Times Square on Tuesday (December 31) in New York City where she delivered an earnest performance of ‘Wrecking Ball’ in the shadow of the mighty Times Square ball.

Wearing a full look from The Blonds, Miley worked another crop top. This time, the sparkling gold number matched her skin-tight pants which she styled with a long white fur coat from New York based designers and Versace ankle-strap, white, studded pumps.

I think even Puff Daddy would be jealous of the fur coat.

Another miss, or a rare hit for Miley?

Miley Cyrus In Vintage Calvin Klein & Vintage Issey Miyake - 'Britney Piece of Me' Opening Night

Miley Cyrus attended the opening of ‘Britney: Piece of Me’ held at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Friday, (December 27) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

With her cropped hair at that awkward growing out stage (which is also in need of a touch up), the singer continued the 2013 summer crop top trend donning a makeup-stained vintage Calvin Klein gold long sleeve top worn with a black vintage Issey Miyake black suspender skirt, which she styled with plaid Versace Spring 2014 pumps, a selection of jewels and a glossy red lip.

Showing yet more support, for Britney she carried a Britney Spears backpack emblazoned with pictures of the singer as a teen.

For some reason I don’t hate it. She has the body to pull it off, plus the skin exposure is nothing we haven’t seen before.

Sexy or trying too hard? I find it fits in neither category, so I will let you decide.

Miley Cyrus In Maison Martin Margiela - Z100's Jingle Ball 2013

Miley Cyrus took to the red carpet before performing at Z100′s Jingle Ball 2013 held at Madison Square Garden on Friday (December 13) in New York City.

Once again I found myself really liking her red carpet look.

Happy that the tomfoolery appears to be out of her system, the singer wore a masculine sexy chic Margiela look which consisted of an MMG Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2014 sleeveless white mandarin-collar blouse.

Working Maison Martin Margiela’s directional and contemporary aesthetic she paired her blouse with painted high-waisted tuxedo trousers featuring pressed pleats down each wide leg contrasting perfectly with the splash of yellow, creating a truly flattering and utterly modern silhouette.

I would wear this top-to-toe look, including her Celine sandals and silver cuff, in a heartbeat. It’s amazing what she can achieve when she stops trying so hard. This is the sexiest she has looked all year.

The softer makeup is also a vast improvement.

Miley Cyrus In Calvin Klein - KIIS FM's Jingle Ball

Miley Cyrus attended KIIS FM’s Jingle Ball held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Friday evening.

The singer, whose red carpet style has been questioned on more than one occasion recently, selected a Calvin Klein Collection Resort 2014 black suede halter top with a waist wrap detail and a black skirt.

Demure by her standards, she’s unlikely to offend on this occasion as she manages to find the right balance of looking like a sexy pop star without revealing too much or jumping feet-first into vulgar territory.

Black-and-gold strappy sandals, a red pout and subtle jewels completed the look.

Miley Cyrus In Markus Lupfer - 2013 American Music Awards

After surprising us all with a demure Versus Versace white suit on the red carpet, Miley Cyrus changed into something more, well, Miley-esque for her performance at the 2013 American Music Awards held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Sunday in Los Angeles.

Having just turned 21 this weekend, the singer hit the stage for a performance of her smash hit ‘Wrecking Ball’ wearing a custom Markus Lupfer ‘meow’ top and high-waisted panties featuring a cat print, which she styled with matching platform shoes, PVC oversized earrings and bracelets.

As much as she may believe, there is nothing sexy or appealing about this look.

The bigger question is when did it become mandatory for celebs to perform in their underwear?
