Who Wore Alexandre Vauthier Couture Better…Miley Cyrus or Taraji P. Henson?

Who Wore Alexandre Vauthier Couture Better Miley Cyrus or Taraji P Henson

As someone who has never found hipbones sexy, I can’t say I am a huge fan of this Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2015 Couture gown, but I wasn’t surprised that this dress was worn at music events where the words ‘demure’ and ‘covered up’ are never in play.

Miley Cyrus, an AV devotee, was the first to wear this dress to the Grammy Awards, followed by Taraji P. Henson at the Billboard Awards.

While this would be a great time to incorporate an ‘none-of-the-above’ option, I’m curious to find out who you thought wore it better.

I will go for Miley, as I can’t get passed Taraji’s hip bone tattoos.

Miley Cyrus In Moschino – New York 2015 amfAR Inspiration Gala

Miley Cyrus In Moschino - New York 2015 amfAR Inspiration Gala

Miley Cyrus wore her heart on her sleeve—and everywhere else—at the 2015 amfAR Inspiration Gala New York, hosted at New York City’s Spring Studios on Tuesday (June 16).

She was nothing short of the evening’s Queen of Hearts in her theatrical Moschino embellished gown that featured a sculptural bow at the back and a small train.

Not keen to stop there, she styled the dress with long red gloves, a heart-shaped clutch, and her current braided-back mohawk ’do of the moment that was embellished with glittery red accents.

But what broke my fashion heart were the clunky Dr. Martens boots. I don’t care if they had hearts on them.

Minus those, the look was expectedly dramatic and loud. But, in comparison with other Miley entrances, this one had a more palatable kitsch factor thanks in large part to the more elegant silhouette of the gown.

Miley Cyrus In Moschino – 1 Oak Night Club

Miley Cyrus In Moschino - 1 Oak Night Club

Miley Cyrus was spotted at 1 Oak Night Club after a performance at Terminal 5 in New York City on Wednesday (May 13).

Donning a look that can only be described as wildly helter-skelter, the songstress provided her own entertainment without even singing a word in a red bandana tie top and matching scarf skirt from Jeremy Scott’s Resort 2015 collection.

The entertainer, who previously collaborated with Jeremy on DIY-style accessories for his Spring 2015 collection, likewise provided her own accessories flair here, carrying a balloon-twisted basket of balloon flowers, while wearing white sneakers and what else but a party princess tiara.

The glittery silver makeup that surrounded her eyes only provided further shock value to this zany concoction.

Miley Cyrus In Alexander Wang – 2015 Met Gala

Miley Cyrus In Alexander Wang - 2015 Met Gala

Miley Cyrus was also on the guest list at the 2015 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4).

Like Zoë Kravitz, Miley wore an Alexander Wang Fall 2015 black gown that was customized for the occasion. But, with the skin-baring cutouts, I’m finding even less of a thematic Chinese reference here.

In fact, a punk-rock mood was the first thing that came to mind with the all-over silver studs not to mention the singer’s lacquered blue-gray hair and ear cuffs.

Miley Cyrus In Miu Miu – 30th Annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

Miley Cyrus In Miu Miu - 30th Annual Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony

Miley Cyrus made waves onstage during a performance with Joan Jett and The Blackhearts during the 30th annual Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony at Public Hall on Saturday (April 18) in Cleveland, Ohio.

But before changing into black leather and heart-shaped, letter ‘J’ pasties, the songstress wore a far more demure look on the red carpet.

While there was plenty of schoolgirl-punk in this Miu Miu Spring 2015 ensemble, so too was there an element of intriguing quirk in the clashing separates.

The vintage-print, ruffled crop top, red plaid skirt, and bubblegum-pink coat shouldn’t all fit together, but somehow they do for Miley—with the hot-pink heels only adding another feisty zing.

Plus, her subtly sophisticated beauty look won me over, helping to elevate my appreciation for this look. What do you make of it?
