I was expecting to immediate dislike whatever Miley Cyrus wore to the 2010 Grammy Awards, but I was pleasantly surprised.

The girl who has a knack for not dressing age appropriately for once got it right with this denim Hervé Léger by Max Azria Spring 2010 bandage dress.

The dress is dark and moody, so I’m surprised – but thankful – that Miley kept her make-up light.

Her look was paired with black strappy Balenciaga sandals and a box clutch.

“IT’S MILEY”.

If you chuckled you must watch “The Soup” on E!.

It is indeed Miley Cyrus on the cover of Harper’s Bazaar’s February 2010 issue, and I have to admit I love both the cover and the editorial.

Me loving what Miley’s wearing???

I know. I checked my temperature and don’t appear to be coming down with anything.

I love it because she’s not overdress, nor does she appear to be ‘partying in the USA’ wearing Daisy dukes and cowboy boots.

In the shots taken by Peter Lindbergh she’s wearing Giorgio Armani on the cover, plus Christian Dior, Ralph Lauren and my favourite is her in Burberry Prorsum. She looks grown up, yet age appropriate.

In the interview Miley shares the ups and downs of her success, talks about the much-criticized Vanity Fair photo, and why she was crying with happiness when she left LA this summer.

You can read her full interview at Harper’s Bazaar.com, but here are some extracts from her interview.

On the headline-making Vanity Fair photo of Miley wrapped in a bed sheet: “Here, my parents are thinking they’re seeing a beautiful photograph by a major photographer, and the people of America want to see something dirty in that? It doesn’t make sense to us because [my family] doesn’t look for negativity. But people don’t want to say ‘What a great performance’ or ‘What a great shot.’ No one wants to look at something like that and see the positive because it doesn’t sell a magazine.”

This was a very rare moment when I actually liked what Miley Cyrus wore on the red carpet.

The cheeky singer/actress wowed the crowds on at the London premiere of “Hanna Montana: The Movie” wearing a dazzling Herve Leger Fall 2009 embellished dress paired with Sergio Rossi heels.

At the time we debated whether the dress was age appropriate, and 74% of you thought it was.

Model Julia Stegner wore the same mini dress on the red carpet this week at the “GQ Men Of The Year 2009″ held in Germany.

I much prefer Miley’s grey pumps to Julia’s black booties, so Miley surprisingly wins for me.

Regular readers will know that I was dead against the Sex and the City 2 film because I thought the story concluded when Carrie and Big got married.

It was the ending we all hoped for.

I only recently jumped on-board the sequel train, when I saw Sarah Jessica Parker walking the streets of Manhattan wearing a white Halston dress and Louboutin heels.

But then THIS happened. Miley Cyrus was spotted on set with Kim Cattrall wearing the same paillette detailed Matthew Williamson mini dress this weekend.

You know how I feel about Miley, so it won’t surprise you to know that my desire to watch this film has just died.

Let me know how it goes because I won’t be paying money to watch this brat.

What’s she doing in this movie anyway? Is she even old enough to watch it?

N.B. Regular readers will also know that it will only take the next candids of SJP to get me back on board.

Kim and Miley’s dress was not featured on the runway, but the detail of the dress was featured in both Matthew Williamson Fall and Pre-Fall 2009 collections.

Kylie Minogue has also worn this dress, but hers was minus the embellished details on the bodice.

For the love of god, can someone PLEASE, Please, please help this girl.

Even if you take her to Topshop, just so she can see what girls her age wear.

What the fudge is she wearing?

The runway version of her Dsquared² Fall 2009 was not hiked up to the thigh displaying fish-net tights.

There is no need for all the modifications.

When Selena Gomez is getting it so right, Miley gets it so very wrong.

Another red carpet event, and another missed opportunity for Whitney Port to promote her own Spring 2010 collection.

This time the designer opts for a La Perla Spring 2009 black chiffon dress with nude underlay and jeweled shoulder detail. *shudders*

What was she thinking?

Hopefully not that this is a good look, because she would be wrong.

Finally a Kelly Clarkson look I really love.

The singer wore a stunning black velvet one shoulder David Meister gown with feather corsage.

Everything works.

It looks like Whitney Port can’t even get her BFF to wear her Spring 2010 collection, which is not fair as Whitney wore Lauren Conrad Collection several times.

Lauren Conrad wore a green sequined Alice + Olivia dress paired with black satin peep-toes.

I do like this look, surprisingly it’s not boring.

Jennifer Hudson proudly shows off her post-baby figure wearing a figure hugging metallic dress with thigh-high boots.

Love Leona Lewis’ lilac off-the-shoulder Halston gown, but I absolutely hate the black Vivienne Westwood corset.

So unnecessary and makes this a waste of a stunning gown.

Jordin Sparks’ dress lack any.

Sparks that is.

Sheryl Crow opted for a red satin Dolce & Gabbana dress with black tulle overlay with a black waistband.

We normally see more colour or a rocker look from Sheryl, so this is a refreshing change.

“Goin’ to the chapel and we’re gonna get married”.

Toni Braxton’s white gown is too bridal for my tastes.

TV personality Kim Zolciak gets herself notice wearing a Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 dress as worn by Madonna.

UK singer Adele wore a black Barbara Tfank dress which had gold ribbon embroidery.

Worst Dressed Award
I’m not sure who designed Megan Fox’s dress, but by looking at it I would guess it’s been modified to be way shorter than intended.

The material is interesting, but I would have preferred her heels to be a lighter colour.

The only plus side here is that her make-up artist has finally found the right shade of foundation for her.

UPDATE: The dress is YSL. Shocking no?

Most Predictable Award
Well, well.

No prizes for those of you who would’ve predicted Amanda Bynes would wear a Herve Leger dress, black pumps and style her with a center parting.

Why? Because this is what she does time after time.  Some would call it her signature look.  I would call it uninspiring.

If she was a clock you could set watch by her.

Nice Dress, Shame About The Hair Award
This was one of my favourite dresses from the Adam Fall 2009 collection.  It’s cute, heavily embellished, sassy and edgy at the same time.

So imagine my horror to see Jennette McCurdy had teamed her fabulous dress with mum hair.

Most Disappointing Award
I knew it.

I knew it would only be a matter of time before Kim Kardashian did something drastic after her break-up with Reggie Bush.

The formerly raven haired star teased us back in April wearing a blonde wig, but unfortunately this is the real deal as Kim has opted for a lighter blonde ‘do.

My disappointment starts with the fact that Kim’s gorgeous dark locks is the one thing that made her stand out in LA .

I’m sure it will eventually grow on me.

The star picked a white Stella McCartney Spring 2009 plunging dress with gold Gucci Iman heels to show Mr Bush what he is missing.

De Ja Vu Award
I’m sorry but just because she’s Britney Spears and she’s made a comeback, it doesn’t mean I will automatically like this look.

For me the problem remains the same. Ratty hair extensions and mini dresses that just don’t flatter.

Her LBD is by Roberto Cavalli, with Jimmy Choo ‘Gesture’ sandals.

Worst Hair Award
Someone call pest control, there’s a rat on Rumer Willis’ shoulder.

The only good thing about Rumer’s hair is that she’s going darker, but the style I really dislike.

I’ve understood those backward plaits.

Rumer arrived wearing a LBD with an embellished bodice and black satin Casadei pumps.

I Am 17, Going On 50
There is something about Selena Gomez’ look these days that hasn’t been sitting well with me lately.

Her Baby Phat dress is a gorgeous lilac colour, but the hair ages her.

Hopefully she’ll get back into her teen groove again soon.

I Don’t Think I Will Ever Like Her Style Award
Miley Cyrus wore a shimmering Haute Hippie black sequin mini skirt, with a white Hanes tank that was light enough for me and the world to see her bra.

If that wasn’t bad enough she over accessorized making a simple look appear way too busy.

She later changed into a Jenny Packham Fall 2009 embellished dress with a fringe hem which is stunning, but as always there’s something about Miley that just brings down the whole look and makes it look bad.

June 23rd, 2009

Miley Cyrus opted for this black and gold Marchesa Spring 2009 strapless dress when she walked the red carpet at the 2008 American Music Awards back in November.

The Disney stars gold dress with a black chiffon overlay draped across the dress was shortened from the runway version.

The look was paired with black satin Giuseppe Zanotti pumps, a gold necklace and a loose updo.

Georgina Chapman wore the same dress – as per the runway – with a pair of Christian Louboutin t-bar sandals and a Chanel bag, when she attended the Quintessentially Party For “Nowhere Boy” during the Cannes Film Festival.

I don’t like Miley’s modification, the way the appears too tight around the bust nor her necklace so Georgina wins for me.

This dress is available to purchase from the Net-A-Porter International site for £1,720 reduced from £3,440 and €2,110.78 from €4,221.56 in the current sale.
