2010 Shanghai Film Festival – Part I

Barbie Hsu looked stunning wearing an Elie Saab Couture Spring 2010 Couture gown to the 2010 Shanghai Film Festival in China this weekend.

I just love how Barbie glows in this nude one shoulder embroidered gown plus the jeweled accessories in her hair.

You may remember that Gwyneth Paltrow wore this same gown to the 2010 Laureus World Sports Awards earlier this year.

Michelle Yeoh attended the opening ceremony of this festival wearing a stunning Elie Saab Spring 2010 Couture embroidered one shoulder gown.

I love pink floral appliqués, but not too fond of her earrings.

Others at this event included Huo Siyan who opted for a black and white Chanel Spring 2010 dress which she paired with YSL Trib Two heels.

I think this is the first time I’ve seen/noticed Trib Two’s on the red carpet at an Asian event.

Pace Wu opted for an embellished nude and ivory Christian Dior Spring 2010 gown which slightly washes her out.

Chinese actress Yao Chen looked stunning wearing a Versace gown which has a metallic bust and a white chiffon flowing skirt.

Barbie is my favourite here.

2010 Cannes Film Festival: “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” Premiere – Michelle Yeoh In Roberto Cavalli Couture

Michelle Yeoh sticks to her favourite designer during Cannes Film Festival.

The Asian actress opted for a Roberto Cavalli Couture gown for the “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” Premiere this evening.

Her pale yellow organza tiered strapless gown is everything we would expect from Michelle.

Classy, elegant and graceful.

Michelle Yeoh Arrives In Cannes Wearing Versace

Nothing says “I’ve arrived” better than a Versace dress.

Michelle Yeoh made that statement when she arrive at her hotel in Cannes this afternoon.

She looked stunning wearing a Versace Spring 2010 mini dress with a totem print, contrasting check print and metal embellished details.

Obviously I want her to lose those open-toe ankle boots with this look, but she’s fabulous none the less.

Also spotted arriving at Cannes today was Camilla Belle.

In answer to your question, I have absolutely no idea.

Ralph Lauren Flagship Opening Dinner Party – Michelle Yeoh In Ralph Lauren

Last night Ralph Lauren invited 100 of his closest friends for dinner to celebrate the opening of the biggest Ralph Lauren store located at 173 Boulevard Saint Germain 75006 Paris.

The new Parisian store is now the largest Ralph Lauren store in Europe with 6 floors and the first ever Ralph Lauren restaurant.

Actress Michelle Yeoh looked breath-taking as she arrived at the event.

She wore a faded blue ombre Ralph Lauren Spring 2010 chiffon dress.

I adored this dress on the runway and I’m happy to see Michelle do justice to the stunning dress.

The dress has a tiered skirt and a exquisite embroidered beaded hem, which matched the detail on the neckline.

I love Michelle’s look, but I do prefer the runway shoes to matching blue pair she wore.

At this point I’m going to have to put names in a hat to pick 10 ladies for BDOTW. It gets harder and harder everyday.

2009 Cannes Film Festival Catch Up – Part 4

“The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” Premiere

Lily Cole looked like a fairytale princess in her pale blue Chanel Fall 2007 Couture gown.

As soon as I saw Lily, I immediately thought of Amy Adams’ character Giselle in the Disney movie Enchanted, as Lily has that same beautiful innocence.

Spanish Model and TV host Mar Saura, causes a stir by striking a sexy pose wearing a Nina Ricci Spring 2009 halter dress with a rise and fall hem.

The dress showed off her long legs and Jimmy Choo Pixie sandals.

Model Noemie Lenoir could wear a black sack and still shine, but instead opted for an Armani Privé Spring 2009 strapless gown.

Her stunning gown had an embroidered bell-shaped skirt and a sequin bodice.

Credit were credit is due, Peaches Geldof is trying.

But even in this electric blue strapless Roberto Cavalli gown, I’m still not particularly convinced she has turned over a new leaf.

“The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” Photocall

Lily opted for a low key look for the photocall wearing a pale pink top with Stella McCartney ankle zip jeans and a pair of quite hideous pink and orange heels.

“Face” Premiere

Zhang Ziyi looked utterly divine in her pink floral Giorgio Armani Spring 2009 strapless gown with a twisted bodice.

The dress should have been the main focus – especially as her hair was pulled back and her make-up was subtle – but I find myself instantly drawn to her necklace.

What a magnificent piece it is, and I’m usually put off by a large statement pieces grabbing away the attention from the gown.

As much as I love Kerry Washington I don’t love her Monique Lhuillier gown, despite how elegant she looks.

I think it’s the lace one-sleeved top half which is putting me off.

When I saw her I really wanted to find something nice to say, but all I could think was I like her Roger Vivier black satin clutch.

Michelle Yeoh was the picture of elegance wearing a black shimmering Roberto Cavalli gown, with an exquisite silver necklace.

“Map of the Sounds of Tokyo” Premiere

This is something we don’t see very often from Rinko Kikuchi – a soft and sweet look.

Usually she’s wearing something cutting edge, couture, or well structured, so this white ethereal vintage Sophia Kokosalaki gown is a nice refreshing change.

Actress Elodie Bouchez wore a strapless Balmain Spring 2009 LBD with a studded belt  and Jimmy Choo Seattle sandals.

Elodie’s look has less sparkle, in comparison to the runway version because she opted for the black belt which I actually prefer.

“Map of the Sounds of Tokyo” Premiere

This more like the Rinko Kikuchi we know, wearing a piece that has a lot of personality.

Her Chanel Resort 2010 dress included a peplum on the waist, and gold detailing throughout.

2009 Cannes Film Festival – Amend Charity Luncheon

Last year, many of you accused Kerry Washington of always playing it safe.

She didn’t play it safe at the Met Gala, and I wouldn’t call this Louis Vuitton Fall 2009 ensemble a safe option either.

So it looks like she has finally shrugged off the ‘safe’ label wouldn’t you agree?

Her look consisted of a futuristic silver metallic bustier with a pale pink tulip skirt, gold platform heels with a velvet ankle tie, and a silver embroidered clutch.

I love that she is taking risks without over-doing it and without looking ridiculous.

Rihanna wore the raspberry runway skirt to the DKMS Gala.

Michelle Yeoh hosted this event wearing a Caribbean blue Roberto Cavalli cowl neck dress, with a shutter pleated detail on the front.

This is a sophisticated evening dress, but Michelle makes it work for her daytime event.

Mary Louise Parker wore the gown version of this dress to the Emmy’s last year.

Claudia Schiffer opted for a silk nude coloured dress with kimono-style sleeves which gave her a warm glow.

Her look was completed with beige accessories.

2009 Cannes Film Festival – “Inglourious Basterds” Premiere

I secretly knew she wouldn’t let me down.

Tthats 3 years in a row she’s wowed at Cannes.

Angelina Jolie walked the red carpet in not only colour, but this season colour – nude.

Her chiffon one-sleeved Versace Fall 2008 gown is so beautiful, delicate and feminine yet she’s still exudes her usual sex appeal.

Those famous full lips are red divine, and her look is complete with champagne heels.

This is definitely one of her best looks to date.

Diane Kruger was equally radiant, if not more so than Angelina.

The stunning actress walked the red carpet in a custom made ivory silk chiffon Marchesa gown with flutter sleeves.

I love the cowl back dress with silver floral embroidered detail.

The side swept bun, and simple diamonds quietly scream elegance.

Best Dressed of The Week just became even harder.

Elsa Pataky swept the red carpet with her black Elie Saab Spring 2009 Couture strapless gown.

Elsa likes to be a sex kitten on the red carpet, but with a few diamonds here and there and her hair pulled back she looks very demure.

I would’ve loved to have seen her in another colour gown, as she wore black to the Chopard “Cascade” perfume launch.

Asia Argento plays the femme fatale wearing a bold Armani Prive Spring 2009 strapless gown with a blood red fringed skirt.

She paired her devilish look with matching shoes, and bright red lipstick for an eye-catching pout.

I’m surprised to say that I kinda like Sharon Stone in this Balmain Fall 2009 gown.

It shows off her body – which looks amazing – and she’s not wearing some tacky animal print which she’s usually so fond of.

For once Sharon, I don’t hate.

I’m happy to see Dita von Teese wearing something from the Christian Dior Spring 2009 Couture collection, but I’m disappointed she didn’t pick one of the more colourful risky pieces.

I hope those gowns aren’t destined to only be editorial gowns.

Dita wore her one-shouldered dress with a red clutch to match her perfect pout.

Cute, but safe for Dita.

Emma de Caunes also opted for a black Elie Saab dress, but her embellished cocktail dress was from the Fall 2009 collection.

Judge Shu Qi looked angelic wearing a white Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 gown, which had a gold chain detail embellishing the trim of the bodice.

German actress Jana Pallaske wore an eventful Paule Ka Spring 2009 strapless dress on the red carpet with bandage straps, black contrasting bodice, and feathered hem.

There’s a lot going on, but it’s fun and fruity.

French actress Frédérique Bel also opted for a Paule Ka Spring 2009 creation.

Hers was less cutesy, and more risqué with the cut-out panel showing off her toned abs.

Natasha Poly’s Roberto Cavalli Spring 2009 strapless black and grey gown has plenty of frou frou in the skirt with the ruffles and tulle layers.

In this supermodel face-off Natasha’s soft make-up and sultry smile wins me over.

Robin Wright Penn opts for her second Narciso Rodriguez gown of Cannes Film Festival.

This time it’s refreshing white crepe gown, with sleek lines to give her a beautiful silhouette.

Michelle Yeoh opted for a beige strapless Roberto Cavalli gown with stunning gold accessories to compliment the gold embroidered details on her bodice.

I’ve never been a fan of Joss Stone’s style.

She over did the hippy maxi look, but here she opts for a yellow haltered dress which does nothing for her.

Her yellow dress was paired with green heels, with a pink tip. !?!?!?
