Lady Gaga In Atelier Versace – Oscars 2014

Lady Gaga In Atelier Versace Couture - Oscars 2014

Lady Gaga was in typically grand form, as she paraded down the Oscars 2014 red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday (March 2).

As the current face of Versace, it came as no surprise that she was posing theatrically in the label. The showy metallic, curve-enhancing column gown, traced in glinting silver Art Deco embellishment, hailed from the Atelier Versace Spring 2014 Couture collection and came draped with a dramatic lavender sash.

Yet, this glittering glamazon dress was still a more normalized look for Mother Monster, who traded in her standard otherworldly styling for a more classic approach. She even skipped the Donatella extensions for a sleek, platinum-blonde updo and pretty lilac eye shadow.

Oscar had nothing on Mother Monster, who could have been her own prize statuette, with her enormously high stilts—custom Brian Atwood platforms—acting as the trophy stand.

Aside from the ridiculous shoes, this is Gaga-gorgeous—her version of diva dressing at its finest.

Sally Hawkins In Valentino – Oscars 2014

Sally Hawkins took to the red carpet on Sunday, March 2 in Los Angeles for the 2014 Oscars.

The Best Actress in a Supporting Role nominee for ‘Blue Jasmine’, was one of the many stars who opted for a pale, embroidered dress, in this case Valentino Couture Fall 2013.

The workmanship on this dress is just incredible from the cream and gold embroidery to the pearl waist detail. It’s a true work of art. However, the dress overwhelms Sally’s petite figure. It appears to have not been altered to her frame properly when compared to the runway image. The dress is too long in both the sleeves and hem and the waist is sitting too low.

With a high-necked dress this ornate I generally like to see hair swept up but that bothers me far less than the fact that it’s simply too big. On a taller actress this could have been a winner.

Julia Roberts In Givenchy Couture – Oscars 2014

Julia Roberts looked radiant during her red carpet walk on Sunday (March 2) at the 2014 Oscars, hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Nominated for her work in ‘August: Osage County’, Julia chose a custom Givenchy couture gown for the big occasion.

As Hollywood royalty she always looks beautiful and classic, and this black lace column gown is one of her best sartorial choices to date. The deep neckline with peekaboo lace paneling and peplum detail made the gown sophisticated, sexy, and romantic all at once.

The actress often lets her gown speak for itself, as she did on the red carpet here, punctuating the intricate lace design with only a few sparkly jewels from Bulgari.

Julia, you hit the red carpet jackpot once again.

Kate Hudson In Atelier Versace – Oscars 2014

Kate Hudson absolutely shut it down at the 2014 Oscars in Los Angeles tonight (March 2).

Wow wow wow. The ‘Wish I Was Here’ actress, who is presenting this evening, was pure perfection in an Atelier Versace Spring 2014 gown and Jimmy Choo ‘Vibe’ Sandal. Best dressed nominee hands down.

Where to begin on all the amazing things happening with this dress? The train, the woven detailing on the waist, the beading and the deep plunge are all right on point. But it’s the shoulder pads and cape detail that make it pure magic.

With so much drama in the dress, she limited herself to a few delicate pieces of diamond jewelry and an art deco-inspired clutch.

The look oozed old school glamour without looking old fashioned. I’ll be shocked if this isn’t on every best-dressed list.

Olga Kurylenko was also in attendance at the Oscars 2014, hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on Sunday (March 2).

The Bond girl may have been dressed in red, but she was actually going green in Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress design.

The elegant and sustainably-designed gown, made from environmentally friendly materials, featured a pleated ruffle detail at the shoulder along with an asymmetric cutout for added sassy appeal.

Golden Bulgari jewels, including a pair of dazzling earrings, and a shiny metallic Oroton ‘Freize’ clutch, ensured that this eco-aware ensemble had plenty of sizzle.

Vegan shoes which were a collaboration with PETA and vegan shoe brand Beyond Skin completed her look.

What do you think of her ‘green’ statement?

Sandra Bullock In Alexander McQueen – Oscars 2014

Sandra Bullock In Alexander McQueen - Oscars 2014

Sandra Bullock hit the red carpet at the 2014 Oscars held at the Hollywood & Highland Center on Sunday (March 2) in Hollywood, California.

The Best Actress nominee looked regal in a navy Alexander McQueen gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

I love the restrained elegance of this look on Sandy. The gown is classically beautiful and the lines of the sweetheart neck and dramatic draping scream ‘red carpet pro’.

While her perfectly coiffed sideswept curls are equally elegant and classic, Sandy added a bit of modern fun to her look with some teal liner in the waterline of her bottom lids.

A dark manicure and ear cuffs add the perfect bit of edge to the sophisticated look.

I am completely taken by this perfectly styled ‘classic with a bit of fun’ look. Are you as much of a fan as I am?

Jada Pinkett-Smith In Atelier Versace – Oscars 2014

Jada Pinkett Smith hit the red carpet on Sunday (March 2) at the 2014 Oscars, hosted at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre.

The actress looked radiant in a dusty pink gown by Atelier Versace.

Jada jumped on the pastel trend in a rosy gown with a trifecta of details: an elongating halter neck, sexy slit, and dramatic train. The draping of the design was beautiful, feminine and incredibly sleek.

Jada completed her Oscars style with perfectly straight locks and dress-matching pink-hued makeup.

I say this is a sartorial win.
