Red Carpet Fashion Awards

BDOTW Women

Even with the glamour of Malaga Film Festival dominating the poll, it was a street-style look which won you over this week.

Miranda Kerr’s Dolce & Gabbana dress styled with an Escada coat, Hermes bag and Louboutin shoes was a sexy, effortless look which I personally preferred over some of the red carpet looks she’s given us this year.

As you know, I’m all about colour, and what a colourful red carpet we had last week.

The actress who stood out for me the most was Ana de Armas in Zuhair Murad. It wasn’t just the colour which captivated me; the styling, including that hot-red lip and wavy retro ‘do, sealed the deal.

Menswear Friday

Here is a quick menswear roundup.

Chadwick Boseman: The ’42′ actor picked up the Male Star of Tomorrow award during the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards held at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on Thursday (March 27) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Looking sharp in a SAND Copenhagen two-button suit with a blue-and-white gingham shirt, he opted for a skinny black tie and black wingtip lace-up shoes with a funky blue trim.

Andrew Garfield: The actor is keeping up his less formal approach to red carpet dressing for the promo tour for ‘The Amazing Spider-Man 2′, joining Emma Stone wearing a light-blue linen suit with an open white shirt and navy sneakers to the Singapore fan event on Wednesday (March 26).

Michael B. Jordan: The actor was back on the red carpet after a busy awards season, attending the CinemaCon 2014 Awards in Las Vegas, Nevada on Thursday (March 27). The actor wore a sleek deep Burgundy Z Zegna two-button peak-lapel suit with a white shirt and a red tie for a pop of colour along with his tan Louboutin flats. I love the impeccable tailoring of his suit.

Menswear Roundup

Here is a roundup of some guys who have taken to the red carpet for various premieres this week.

Michael B. Jordan: Following the Oscars, the actor attended the ‘Prossima Fermata: Fruitvale Station’ premiere held at Cinema Barberini on Thursday (March 6) in Rome, Italy. Wearing a Lois Vuitton suit, he kept the look relaxed with a checked shirt with no tie.

Jason Bateman: On Wednesday (March 5) the actor attended the ‘Bad Words’ premiere wearing an Ermenegildo Zegna Couture look featuring a black double-breasted suit, a white shirt and double-monk-strap shoes.

Oscars menThe Oscars 2014 on Sunday (March 2), and the ensuing soirees, were a fashion feast for the senses, with high-wattage gowns swishing at every glam turn. But the men provided plenty of eye candy, as well, as they suited up in their sartorial best for the stylish super-event at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California followed by the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Matthew McConaughey: The ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Best Actor winner not only delivered a compelling acceptance speech, he also was convincingly decked out in a Dolce & Gabbana suit, Louboutin shoes and Chopard cufflinks. Always surprising us with his wild-card jackets, this one was a crispy ivory number, which he handsomely sported with a black vest, white button-down, black trousers and bowtie.

Bradley Cooper: Looking ever so dapper in a black Tom Ford tuxedo, paired with a black bow tie and Chopard cufflinks, the ‘American Hustle’ star and Best Supporting Actor nominee wore a side of handsome scruff with his classic ensemble

Pharrell Williams: Well, he wasn’t wearing the colossal hat, but the ‘Happy’ singer and nominee still turned heads with his cutoffs. The custom head-to-toe Lanvin look featured a black wool shawl-collar, one-button tuxedo with matching shorts, a white tuxedo shirt with ivory pearl buttons, a black satin bowtie and dark gray hand-polished calfskin derbies (sans socks, natch).  Yay or nay?

Best Dressed Of The Week - Naomie Harris In Valentino, Adrien Brody In Dolce & Gabbana and Michael B

This week we loved Naomie Harris who wore a gold Valentino gown to the NAACP Image Awards 2014.

She had a stellar week, but this best of a very chic bunch.

When it came to the fellas, you were drawn to Adrien Brody’s red shiny Dolce & Gabbana suit, while I opted for the more classic Dior Homme look served up by Michael B. Jordan.
