Meryl Streep In Lanvin - 2013 Oscars

Meryl Streep presented the ‘Best Actor’ award to Daniel Day-Lewis at the 2013 Oscars, held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

The actress wore a custom Lanvin gown by Alber Elbaz, which is one of her best looks to date.

Her blue-and-grey soft paillette long sleeve gown with a v-neckline and embroidered shoulder floral details was styled with two crystal cuffs, Fred Leighton triple drop antique cut diamond pendant earrings and Ferragmo black satin shoes

Looking every bit the legend she is, Meryl completed her look with a soft bronze lip colour and swept back hair.

The 2012 Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards took place at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in California yesterday evening.

Cobie Smulders: As one of my favourite breakout stars of 2012, I was happy to see Cobie back on the red carpet for this event. The actress wore a beautiful blush Max Mara dress with ruffle shoulders and a contrast waistband. The look was perfected with a champagne cut-crystal minaudiere, Swarovski jewels, pink glossy lips, Jimmy Choo ‘Trina’ sandals and a quiffed updo.

Viola Davis: Despite looking at least 20 years younger sporting her natural hair towards the end of awards season, Viola showcased a different do at this event. She wore a black strapless Max Mara dress with a satin side-bow detail. I wish she’d opted for something more summery like Cobie. A rich red lip colour, a studded clutch and black strappy Jimmy Choo ‘New Ontario’ sandals completed the look.

Christina Applegate: We had a shot of colour at this event courtesy of Christina. She stood out wearing a hot red Max Mara sleeveless dress with peplum detail. I wish her accessories, which included a Daniel Swarovski black iridescent snakeskin Fresh clutch with silver crystal stripe and black peep-toes, were as enticing as her dress. A braided updo and a red lip colour to match her dress provided the finishing touches.

Meryl Streep helped celebrate Shirley MacLaine at the 40th AFI Life Achievement Award held in her honour at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California yesterday evening.

The actress wore a pretty Valentino Spring 2012 Couture ensemble.

An ivory sheer lace blouse was teamed with an ivory-and-pink floral maxi skirt accented with a bow at the waist.

This silhouette seems to be favoured by the actress as she wore similar looks during the awards season.

The only person I was nervous about seeing on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars tonight was Meryl Streep.

That fear disappeared when I saw her arrive wearing this stunning Lanvin gown.

I don’t ever recall a jaw-dropping moment from Meryl, so what a great occasion in which to make it happen.

Her custom made gold lamé draped Lanvin gown was accessorized with a Lanvin woven gold and strass chain link belt, a Lanvin mother-of-pearl minaudiere and Salvatore Ferragamo gold lizard sandals.

Do you agree that this is the best she has ever looked?

Or can you think of a better moment?

Meryl Streep showed off a sexier, more daring side on the red carpet at the 2012 BAFTA Awards in London this evening.

Perhaps as an ode to the British award ceremony and character she played in ‘The Iron Lady’, Meryl chose to wear a look by legendary British designer, Vivienne Westwood.

Meryl teamed her signature Westwood strapless black gown with a lightly embellished corset belt and a bolero with the same sparkling details.

This is a considerably revealing ensemble for the ‘Best Actress’ nominee, who we tend to see covered up and looking drab on the red carpet.

Despite her windswept hair, which is terribly aging, unfortunately, I do love this look for Meryl.

It’s her best look so far as it actually looks like she made a real effort on this occasion.

Gold hooped earrings and a bejewelled Anya Hindmarch clutch completed her look.
