Front Row @ Christian Dior Fall 2013

Dior Front Row 1

A group of bold-named beauties held court at Christian Dior’s Fall 2013 presentation to see Raf Simons’ arty collection in Paris on Friday afternoon. While none were as dramatically dressed as fellow show-goer Ulyana Sergeenko, they still impressed with top-to-toe looks from the designer.

Marion Cotillard: The French actress played it safe in a simple black coat worn over a monochrome dress and paired with black tights and pointy stilettos. The one perk that kept this look interesting to me; the adorable over-the-shoulder box handbag.

Olivia Palermo: Stepping out in a dress from Dior’s Spring 2013 collection, Olivia worked the stripes and the fringe to her advantage. She kept warm with a black overcoat that featured yet another trend: fur. I loved her bright matte red lip and the flash of patent lavender on her shoe.

Anna Dello Russo: Always willing to break the style rule book, Vogue Japan’s editor-at-large was the only one who eschewed Dior. Instead, she took fur to the max in her Fendi number, ripped right off the Fall 2013 runway. The result? An interesting mix of primitive and punk with a techno edge. Her fuzzy clutch was just as “hair”-raising.

Front Row @ Burberry Prorsum Fall 2013

Burberry Fall 2013 Front Row

As is customary, quite the coterie of starlets stylishly resided on Burberry Prorsum’s front row to see just what Christopher Bailey had in store for Fall 2013; a collection he titled “Trench Kisses, A Collection of Classics and Christine Keeler.” While it was hard to compete with the designer’s gorgeous runway heroines, many of these cool-girl guests rocked their Burberry best at London’s Kensington Gardens on Monday afternoon and gave the models a good run.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley: The British model and actress broke out a sleek coral-red pantsuit for her front-row seat at the show. Was it mannish? Yes. But with the slim fit and the impeccable tailoring, no to mention Rosie’s voluminous waves, she looked like she just stepped off the runway herself.

Freida Pinto: Opting for a cooler palette of jewel tones, the actress wore a dark sapphire corset and emerald green trouser from Burberry Prorsum’s colour-saturated Spring 2013 collection. Instead of the cropped biker jacket originally featured on the catwalk, Freida added a black sash detail to the peplum waist of the top. Without any accessories on this look, I would have at least liked to see the added zest of the runway’s golden yellow shoe. But she played off the black with her peep-toe wedge.

Rita Ora: We can always count on this British songstress to pump up the volume with her chameleon-like style. Here, she also went for a menswear-inspired statement with a navy suit that kept an edge with its ’80s slouch and rolled-up sleeves, paired back to stacks of colourful bangles, a “foxy” chain necklace and a T-shirt that playfully illustrated Rita’s new British BFF and model of the moment, “Queen” Cara Delevingne. The white version of those peep-toe wedges also made an appearance, as did a modernized bouffant-style ‘do.

Mélanie Laurent in Christian Dior Couture – ‘Touch of the Light’ Marrakech Film Festival Premiere

Mélanie Laurent attended the ‘Touch of the Light’ premiere during the 2012 Marrakech Film Festival on Friday.

The French actress ventured on a limb wearing a Christian Dior Spring 2012 Couture dress-over-pants combo.

The neo-New Look pieces by newly minted Dior couturier Raf Simons have been popular among the Hollywood set this season, especially Marion Cotillard and Jennifer Lawrence.

Mélanie’s sly charm works well with the outfit’s winking nod to both uber-feminine midcentury eveningwear and the gender-bending YSL Le Smokings that followed a decade later.

However, the spare soigné of the navy and black ensemble is thrown off by Mélanie’s limp, crimpy hair, heavy eye makeup, and time-for-a-touch-up dark roots.

Had she booked a last-minute appointment at the colourist and stayed at the salon long enough for someone to wrap her hair into a neat top knot, this could’ve been a hit.

You may remember that Ruth Wilson wore a similar Dior Couture to Mélanie’s just last week.

Front Row @ Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture

Celebrities, editors, designers and even royalty were seated in the front row of the Christian Dior Fall 2012 Couture presentation held in Paris, France, this afternoon.

Mélanie Laurent: The French actress was my favourite from all the attendees at this event. I’m most in love with the printed bell-shaped tiered skirt which she styled with the same satin blush sleeveless top from the runway. I’m not missing the necklace, but I would’ve preferred it had she tied back her beachy wavy locks.

Princess Charlene of Monaco: Dressed in head-to-toe pink Dior, the Princess looked uber chic even though I wish she opted for a belt.

Anna Dello Russo: The editor-at-large for Vogue Nippon has always been fearless when it comes to fashion, but I’ve never seen her show off so much skin. Dressed in a hot-pink Fausto Puglisi Spring 2012 dress with cut-out details and an elaborate gold-embroidered detail, the look is styled with all pink accessories including a Valentino clutch and YSL shoes. TMI or fearless fashionista?

Melanie Laurent In Burberry Prorsum – Burberry Celebrates Paris Boutique Opening

Melanie Laurent opted for a simple look whilst attending the Burberry Celebrates Paris Boutique Opening in Paris yesterday evening.

The French actress wore a mid-length classic Burberry trench with black leather studded gloves, an olive purse and snakeskin peep-toes.

Everything about this look seems too oversized.

The trench makes the petite actress look boxy and shapeless, whilst the oversized purse, carried as a clutch, adds to the illusion.

Her snakeskin shoes are a fun addition to the look, however.

A messy updo completes the look.
