Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Oscars menThe Oscars 2014 on Sunday (March 2), and the ensuing soirees, were a fashion feast for the senses, with high-wattage gowns swishing at every glam turn. But the men provided plenty of eye candy, as well, as they suited up in their sartorial best for the stylish super-event at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California followed by the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Matthew McConaughey: The ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ Best Actor winner not only delivered a compelling acceptance speech, he also was convincingly decked out in a Dolce & Gabbana suit, Louboutin shoes and Chopard cufflinks. Always surprising us with his wild-card jackets, this one was a crispy ivory number, which he handsomely sported with a black vest, white button-down, black trousers and bowtie.

Bradley Cooper: Looking ever so dapper in a black Tom Ford tuxedo, paired with a black bow tie and Chopard cufflinks, the ‘American Hustle’ star and Best Supporting Actor nominee wore a side of handsome scruff with his classic ensemble

Pharrell Williams: Well, he wasn’t wearing the colossal hat, but the ‘Happy’ singer and nominee still turned heads with his cutoffs. The custom head-to-toe Lanvin look featured a black wool shawl-collar, one-button tuxedo with matching shorts, a white tuxedo shirt with ivory pearl buttons, a black satin bowtie and dark gray hand-polished calfskin derbies (sans socks, natch).  Yay or nay?

Matthew McConaughey In Hugo Boss and Camila Alves In Dolce & Gabbana - 86th Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon

Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves attended the 86th Academy Awards Nominee Luncheon held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday (February 10) in Beverly Hills, California.

Matthew McConaughey: Saving his snazzy jackets perhaps for the main event, the actor donned a beige Hugo Boss two-button suit styled with an open black shirt. I would have preferred a white shirt for a fresher look, considering it was a daytime event, but he would have looked good either way.

Camila Alves: The TV presenter once again showed love for Dolce & Gabbana, wearing a slightly retro feeling pale-rose brocade dress, with crystal-embellishment adding a girlish touch. Martin Katz jewelry, pretty pink pointy pumps and a side-swept braid rounded out her look. My only issue was perhaps the dress was a tad too snug in the hip area.

Camila Alves In Rubin Singer and Matthew McConaughey - Goldene Kamera 2014

Camila Alves and Matthew McConaughey attended the 49th Golden Camera Awards held at Tempelhof Airport on Saturday (February 1) in Berlin, Germany.

Camila Alves: Following her not-so impressive bridal look for the London premiere of ‘Dallas Buyers Club’, the Brazilian beauty was back to her best wearing a stunning Rubin Singer red silk gazar strapless gown with a draped detail cascading from her hip. With so many ‘meh’ looks over the last few weeks, this sees her back to her best.

Matthew McConaughey: Looking dapper in his Saint Laurent suit which consisted of a midnight-blue sparkling shawl-collar blazer, black shirt, black velvet bow-tie, black trousers and black patent leather shoes; Matthew continues to work a range of stylish menswear looks.

'Dallas Buyers Club' London Premiere Menswear Roundup

Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto attended the ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ London premiere held at the Curzon Mayfair on Wednesday (January 29).

Matthew McConaughey: The actor wore a three-piece suit which continues his love affair with patterned suits and all things Dolce & Gabbana. The grey suit was given a super-slick finish, with a black shirt and tie and patent-leather derbies rounding out his look, which would’ve been perfect had the pants been an inch or two shorter.

Jared Leto: Having worn a lot of slick suits during awards season, Jared returned to the rocker-chic style we know and love. Donning a shawl-collar blazer and patterned shirt with leather pants, it’s both the hat and Nicholas Kirkwood black-and-white chevron-printed slippers worn with purple socks which grab my attention.

Matthew McConaughey In Dolce & Gabbana - 'Dallas Buyers Club' Rome Premiere

Matthew McConaughey attended the ‘Dallas Buyers Club’ premiere held at Cinema Barberini on Monday (January 27) in Rome, Italy.

No surprises that Matthew is wearing Dolce & Gabbana, especially considering he was in Italy.

The actor continued to mix things up wearing a three-piece suit with a printed jacket and vest, opting for solid black trousers and shirt with a maroon tie.

I like the look as presented. Crisp, sharp, clean and with a twist.

Should he have opted to wear the look with the printed trousers, or does the lesser approach work for you here?

Camila Alves In Donna Karan Atelier – 2014 SAG Awards

Camila Alves was a bright spot on the red carpet of the 2014 SAG Awards in Los Angeles tonight (January 18).

The actress wore a dramatic, draped silk Donna Karan Atelier gown while her main man looked striking in Dolce & Gabbana.

There is little doubt that Camila is arm candy this award season, but she has definitely pulled out all the stops with this look. The colour is eye-catching and the gown is breath-taking and her figure is jaw-dropping.

A Christian Louboutin ‘Loubi Strass’ Bronze crystal box clutch and Casadei sandals accent the look, while her usual smokey and bronzed makeup are lovely.

I do wish she would have done something not quite so ‘beach-swept’ with her hair–the gown deserves something a bit more dramatic–but overall, a lovely look.
