Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Last night designers a few celebs helped WWD celebrate it’s 100 Anniversary in New York City last night.

Designers Ashley Olsen and Mary-Kate Olsen arrived in matching black ensembles which predictably took over their petite frames.

They also did that pose where they look joint at the hip. *will never get these girls*

Jessica Szohr added a touch of animal magic to her look by livening up her black jumpsuit with Christian Louboutin ankle boots.

Georgina Chapman was a perfect vision – as always – wearing a Marchesa Fall 2010 dress which makes her look like she’s floating on a very stylish cloud.

Mary-Kate Olsen appears on 3 covers for the Marie Claire US September 2010 issue.

I’m not a fan of multiple covers, because the cover I want is never available in my newsagent.

My favourite is the Pucci cover. Mostly because of the stunning dress, but also because she’s teasing us with a rare smile.

On the other covers which – were shot by Tesh MK wears a military Burberry Prorsum coat and a sequined Gucci dress with feathered sleeves.

The young designer talks to Marie Claire about talks about her fast-paced lifestyle, running a fashion house in New York City, The Row, her passion for clothing, losing her friend Heath Ledger and how she feels about having been a child actor.

On loving her fashion lines: “It’s kind of like a mask to hide behind.” Read more…

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen brought their own unique style to The Art of Elysium “Bright Lights” with Versus fundraiser on Friday.

I have to admit I kinda like what they are both wearing, which is very rare for me.

Mary-Kate opted for a blue micro mini Proenza Schouler dress with a leopard print cape and Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte ankle boots from the Spring 2010 collection.

The heels are distinctive by the nut bolt heel, the metal toe cap and platform.

A selection of ethnic style bracelets complete the look.

Ashley wore a black lace dress with grey panels with a chocolate brown leather jacket tied to her waist.

She completed her look with Balenciaga heels.

Mary Kate Olsen was spotted at the grand opening celebration of “Otarian: The Planet Most Sustainable Restaurant”.

The actress/fashion designer arrived at the Bleecker Street eatery in New York City sporting a very casual look jeans and a black shirt.

I may not have looked at her twice has she not worn this green Dries Van Noten Spring 2010 floral print jacket.

The jacket is gorgeous.

I’m not usually a fan of Mary-Kate’s shabby chic, but I don’t hate this look.

For once she doesn’t look like she was dragged out of bed.

This weekend Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen attended the “Lend Me A Tenor” Broadway opening night in New York.

I’m sorry, but I struggle to take these two seriously as fashion icons.

I’ve never understood the appeal, and I don’t think I ever will with all due respect to them and their fans.

Despite Easter being all about Spring whites and fluffy bunnies the twins looked like they were on their way to a Tim Burton convention.

Although Mary-Kate tried to break-up her black gothic glam head-to-toe look with a white Proenza Schouler clutch, this look is still too dark for my liking – although Ashley dress with the bows is cute.

The biggest question is why did they need to wear those ridiculously big sunglasses at night?
