Mary J Blige In Cushnie et Ochs – 9th Annual Governors Awards

Mary J Blige joined a host of celebrities including her ‘Mudbound’ co-star Carey Mulligan, for the 9th Annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 11) in Hollywood, California.

Aside from a few press events, Mary J Blige’s red carpet looks have mostly consisted of darker shades until she glided down the red carpet in this Cushine et Ochs Spring 2018 colour block gown.

I love how the label’s fabled bodycon silhouettes makes ways for a more softer impression, yet still maintains a high sense of modernity which includes a signature cut-out which Mary opted to keep along with the sultry thigh-high slit.

Mary should definitely opt for colour more often.

Mary J. Blige In Rami Al Ali Couture – ‘Mudbound’ AFI FEST 2017 Screening

Mary J. Blige’s ‘Mudbound’ style has been very hit and miss for me, but for the screening during the Opening Night Gala of AFI FEST 2017 on Thursday (November 9) in Hollywood, California, she served up one of her best looks in Rami Al Ali Couture.

Modified for the better, the gunmetal beaded lace gown with open back from the Fall 2016 Couture collection, was serving up the kind of glamour that screams superstar.

A part of me wishes this was in a more vibrant hue like violet or green, but Queen Mary was hitting all the high notes last night in this gown.

Mary J. Blige In Zuhair Murad Couture – 2017 Hollywood Film Awards

There were a slew of lovely ladies at the 2017 Hollywood Film Awards on Sunday (November 5) in Beverly Hills, California. Mary J. Blige stepped out to join Angelina JolieMargot RobbieCarey Mulligan and Shailene Woodley.

Ditching the gown for elegant separates, the singer was clad in a Fall 2017 ensemble from Zuhair Murad Couture. The bright white fabric of the longline jacket and pants allowed the intricate black appliqués to pop.

It’s such a shame about the wrong colour nipple pasties as they distract from the sumptuous mix of the sheer top and ornate stitching.

I’m keen to see the jacket and high-necked top styled separately so the handiwork of each piece could speak for themselves.

End Of The Week Red Carpet Roundup

There were so many looks this week, that we’re going to cram them into this final post.

Josephine De La Baume: Attending the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ world premiere, the French actress opted to infuse her red carpet style with high-voltage seduction courtesy of this Self-Portrait devore mini dress from the Fall 2017 collection. I’m not usually a big fan of platform shoes, but I find myself buying what she’s selling as these Miu Miu Mary Janes add a playful vibe.

Martha Hunt: I love the fashion forward feel of this Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh black cropped blazer and sequin dress from the Fall 2017 collection with simple black pumps. Worn to the World of Children Awards, this was a truly intriguing look I have to say.

Ajak Deng: This saffron yellow Roksanda ‘Tamiko’ jumpsuit from the Fall 2017 collection gave me so much joy at the ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ world premiere. I love the relaxed nature of it all with the chunky heels adding a utilitarian flavour.

Mary J. Blige In Michael Kors Collection – ‘Mudbound’ New York Screening

Mary J. Blige joined Carey Mulligan for the ‘Mudbound’ screening during the 55th New York Film Festival on Thursday (October 12).

The singer is never shy when it comes to making standout statement on the red carpet, so she decked herself out in an all-white Michael Kors Collection Pre-Fall 2017 look, with many military references.

I want to love the look, but I don’t like the trousers. The finesse we see in the look book doesn’t translate to Mary’s ensemble.

Had the trousers been swapped out for a long skirt with a train, I would’ve warmed to this look.

Tracee Ellis Ross wore this same suit in khaki back in May.

Mary J Blige In Prabal Gurung – ‘Mudbound’ London Press Day

After duly impressing at the London Film Festival premiere of ‘Mudbound’, Mary J. Blige was back at it for the London Press Day.

This Prabal Gurung Spring 2018 look was on the Red Carpet Wish List for none other than Mary J. Blige—and our wish was her command.

This was a lovely way for the star to introduce such a bold selection of hues into the mix, checking the box on both style-forward glam allure and her distinctly edgy vibe.

Anabela Chan and Pasquale Bruni jewels completed the look.

Did you like her choice of complementary magenta pumps to play off the one-sleeve top?
