Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Finally an actress other than Diane Kruger who has worn this Giambattista Valli Spring 2009 dress as it was intended…WITH VOLUME.

Amy Adams wore a dress from this collection recently, but she ruined it by making it so flat and lifeless.

Marisa Tomei wore this stunning 3/4 length sleeve black dress, when she attended The Creative Coalition’s Inaugural Ball last night.

She kept her look simple by adding black pumps, and her favourite Fendi Mini Borderline satin clutch.

Worst Dressed Award
Debra Messing disappoints me again in a very unflattering Vera Wang gown.

Worst Hair Award
Renee Zellweger walked the red carpet wearing a Carolina Herrera Pre-Fall 2009 gown, which was modified the runway.

I must admit I love the dress. It’s the poodle hair I just can’t get on board with.

Best Rachel Zoe Impersonation Award
Rachel Zoe cloned Nicole Richie, Lindsay Lohan and Mischa Barton. All starlets desperate for attention and fame.

So when I look at Cameron Diaz, I ask WFT happened? She used to have such an athletic body and now she had become a Zobot, with lollypop head, and over-tanned skin.

I am nothing but disturbed by this new look, which is only extenuated in her pink Chanel Fall 2008 Couture asymmetrical gown.

To make matters worst her hair is horrific. Going to the Globes you would have thought Cameron would have had her roots done.

I’m crying inside, crying I tell you.

No Class/Most Obnoxious On The Red Carpet Award
Miley Cyrus was by far the most annoying person to walk the red carpet last night. She was loud and rude. And the worst thing is her parents seemed to be encouraging her.

She was sticking her tongue out, giving the peace sign proving what I always thought. This girl has no class.

Her Marchesa Spring 2009 strapless gown with gold embroidery detail was beyond boring.

Worst Throw Back Award
JLo turned up last night instead of Jennifer Lopez.

Jennifer in this dress takes me back to the time when she was dating Puff Daddy, and wearing ghetto gold, embellished head bands and low cut dresses, like this gold Marchesa Spring 2009 gown.

Biggest Let Down Award
I know many of you will not agree, but I just hate those extra pieces of material on Eva Mendes’ white Dior gown. It does not seem to serve a purpose. It’s not a bow, it’s not a doing anything but just hanging there.

I love everything else, so it kills me to put her on this list.

Worst Couture Award
Freida Pinto made this Christian Lacroix Fall 2008 Couture gown look very ordinary. It looked so magical on the runway.

She completed her look with a Judith Leiber clutch.

Too Casual Award
I really love this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 look on Marisa Tomei, but for me it’s too casual for an event like this.

Worst Gold Award
Megan Fox moaned the whole way through her E! interview about how she looked like a tranny. Obviously fishing for compliments, to boost her already over inflated ego.

For me she really cheapens this Ralph Lauren Spring 2009 gown.

Most Boring Award
Penelope Cruz really seems to have lost her sparkle, even in this Armani Prive gown. There is nothing exciting, nor interesting for me to wow about.

Just Don’t Care Anymore Award
Yes it is an improvement on last year horror show, but I just don’t really care about Blake Lively anymore.

The actress wore a steel blue Nina Ricci gown, that a year ago would have got me excited.

Played It Too Safe Award
Yes Amy Adams always plays it safe, but instead of this Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 gown, which is very typical of her style. It would be nice to see something unexpected, with more of a wow factor.

Eva Mendes had an incredible 2008 on the red carpet, so I am glad she has started 2009 with a bang.

The stunning actress looks outstanding wearing a nude Christian Dior Spring 2009 haltered gown.

The keyhole belted gown has crystals embellished on the top half of the dress, and a long flowing skirt.

This is a poke in the ribs for all those who say my girl plays it safe.

Kirsten Dunst was absent from the red carpet for most of 2008, but it looks like during that down time she didn’t lose any of her flair.

Her silk Valentino gown, had a ruffled collar, and a delicate chiffon petal front bib.

Kiki is back, and looking better than ever.

Ali Larter’s black silk Ralph Lauren Spring 2009 gown is simply magnificent. She carries the gown, which has a gold embellished neckline, with both style and grace.

She is a designer’s delight with a lean body and beautiful face. I could not gush about how much I love this enough.

I’m a little disappointed in Kate Bosworth’s pick of this black leaf detailed Nina Ricci Spring 2009 dress.

Olivier Theyskens’ Nina Ricci Spring 2009 collection was full of these short at the front, long at the back dresses, which just didn’t float my boat.

Kate of all people should have made me love it, but even she couldn’t.

Sophia Bush was exquisitely styled in a white strapless Monique Lhuillier gown. Simplicity at its finest, and I don’t think she has ever looked so good.

Her silver jewels perfected this already perfect look.

Joy Bryant wore yellow Missoni maxi dress, with gold accessories.

This girl never gets it wrong.

I don’t know about you, but there is something not quite right about the fit of Nicole Richie’s Jasmine di Milo Spring 2008 dress.

The top half is heavily embroidered, which no doubt would make it quite heavy. So it’s no wonder that the bodice sits quite low down on her.

I can also see her tit-tape, which is never a good thing.

Marisa Tomei practically lives on the red carpet at the moment, but when you’re hot, you’re hot.

Keeping the same hairstyle from her red carpet appearance earlier in the day, the actress changed into this black and white strapless dress.

The dress had a black bow detailing the bodice, and a white chiffon shirt with black script across it.

Rachel Griffiths wear the colour of the moment – electric blue.

Her 50s silk blue cocktail dress from Decades, is matched with a purple Daniel Swarovski clutch and eggplant heels.

Milla Jovovich wears a headband Mischa Barton would approve of, with her black, yellow and white Pucci keyhole gown.

I hate to jump on the Rumer Willis bashing bandwagon, but she really needs to look back at how great she looked during the House Bunny LA premiere, and try to reintroduce that look to the red carpet. Time after time she gets it so wrong.

Nothing is good here.

Courteney Cox Arquette wears an dress that is not black. Shocker.

Amy Smart wears this red Yves Saint Laurent Pre-Fall 2008 gown with braided detail on the front, which was worn last year by Nicole Kidman whilst she was pregnant with her first child.

I love the colour on Amy, but the style feels too old for her.

Amber Heard went all out in this blood red Dolce & Gabbana corseted dress.

It is a very bold dress, and I admire her for having the guts to wear it, but the feathered bloodied hem is kinda creepy.

A new year, a new darker ‘do for Brittany Snow.

Her Dolce & Gabbana strapless black corseted dress, makes her hips look wider than I assume they are.

I would have liked to have seen something much more slinkier on Brittany.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a high pony on the red carpet.

Shannen Doherty wears a sheer black dress with white floral appliqués. Not the best dressed, but it works for her.

I have a lot of girl crushes, and actress Freida Pinto is starting sweeping me off my feet with her appearances on the red carpet.

Last night she looked divine wearing a canary yellow Derek Lam Spring 2009 dress, which really makes her glows. Plus I am in total lust with her clutch.

Marisa Tomei keeps it simple wearing a black eyelet dress, which has bow details on the shoulders.

She completes her look with a Fendi Mini Borderline satin clutch and black peep-toes.

I would take Jessica Alba’s D&G PJ’s over this look any day.

What happened to Gemma Arterton?

She went from Balmain, to Preen to this.

Very disappointing. No matter the occasion, I will always appreciated a girl making an effort. Gemma did not on this occasion.

Worst Dressed/Is It Meant To Be Funny? Cause I Ain’t Laughing Award
Funny woman Sarah Silverman tried to inject a bit of humour to the red carpet, and ended up being the joke.

Converse on the red carpet? Really? Was your dress not tragic enough on its own?

Worst Herve Leger Award
Ooooh Heidi Montag will be so jealous that Amanda Bynes wore this hot pink Herve Leger Spring 2009 dress before her.

OK she looks great it in, but yawn. I’m so over this type of bandage dress. The newer styles I can handle, but this, NO.

Worst Strapless/I Tried But I Couldn’t Love It Award
After Marisa Tomei’s red Donna Karan dress from the People’s Choice Awards, I was excepting to fall in love again.

Unfortunately I could not fall in with with her black strapless Giambattista Valli Fall 2006 dress.

On the runway, the dress looks fab, but Marisa just couldn’t pull it off imo. The ruffle dominates her.

Worst Hair/Lipstick Award
Elizabeth Banks usually always looks amazing on the red carpet. Her Reem Acra dress is gorgeous, and the shoes compliment it well, but she ruins the look with a birds nest hair do, and shocking pink lips.

Best Forever21/New Look Award
Now there is nothing wrong with Forever21, nor New Look. I have shopped at both stores.

The clothes are cheap and disposable, and this is exactly how Kristen Bell makes this Stella McCartney Spring 2009 dress look.

She completed her look with a Fendi Mini Borderline satin clutch.

No Wow Factor Award
Penelope Cruz is an A list actress.

Like Theron, Diaz, and Kruger, they should be wowing us every time they step their Jimmy Choo’s on the red carpet. They have Galliano, Lagerfeld and Valli on their speed dials, so they never have excuses.

I am not wow’ed. Not even close. I think it is mixture of feeling like I have seen this look on her before, and that she doesn’t even look enthused to be there, kills my buzz also.

This is a B list actress dress at best.

Joint Best Dressed/Golden Girl Award
Now this is how you bring glamour to the red carpet.

Jennifer Morrison did not disappoint, as she took to the red carpet last night wearing a gold and silver metallic cocktail dress from the Gianfranco Ferre Spring 2008 collection, which was open at the back.

She complimented her dress with satin pewter Christian Louboutin slingbacks.

Joint Best Dressed/Lady In Red Award
Marisa Tomei’s red strapless Donna Karan dress is simply breath-taking and her gold accessories compliment her dress perfectly.

I particularly love the gathering detail on the skirt, and asymmetrical hem.

Best Asymmetrical Award
Like her mum Kate Hudson is so full of energy and life, so she picked this stand-out teal Gucci Spring 2009 asymmetrical gown, with a palm tree print to match her vibrant personality.

The actress completed her look with matching two-toned Giuseppe Zanotti platforms, and Jack Vartanian black and white rings.

Best Gown Award
There is always something so calm and serene about Olivia Wilde. I would imagine she took 5 minutes to get ready for this awards do, because she looks so effortlessly beautiful wearing this white halter BCBG Max Azria gown, which she compliments with gold accessories.

She completed her look with a matching white Jimmy Choo clutch.

Best LBD Award
Teri Hatcher is not the most consistent on the red carpet, but the Desperate Housewives star looked very sexy in her black satin Givenchy Haute Couture vintage dress from Decades Inc.

I love the bows on each hip. Her pointy pumps help elongate her already very long legs.

Surprisingly fabulous.

Best Dressed Teen Award
Much improved on yesterday’s dress, Dakota Fanning is simply gorgeous in this electric blue one-shouldered BCBG mini dress. Grown up, yet still age appropriate.

Best Couture Award
Queen Latifah wore a striking purple Georges Chakra couture gown.

The hosts flowing chiffon halter gown had a jeweled neckline, with some jewels cascading down the front of her gown, which only made her sparkle more.

Best Dressed Curves Award
Queen Latifah wore a custom emerald green one-shoulder Gustavo Cadile gown, when she collected an award for Favorite Independent Movie for Secret Life of Bees.

The curvacious star’s gown was detailed with embellishments on her shoulder.

Best Non Actress Award
Dancing with the Stars host Samantha Harris wore a white one-shouldered David Meister dress, with a silver beaded shoulder.

She complimented her white hot dress with silver strappy sandals.

Best Black Award
Christina Applegate wore a black chiffon Jenny Packham gown, when she collected her award for Favorite Female TV Star.

The embellishments stop this from becoming a boring black dress.

Best Herve Leger Award
Yes I know you are all tired of Herve Leger on the red carpet, but this was one of the best from the Fall 2008 collection. Jessica Stroup looked gorgeous when she took to the red carpet last night. Not so crazy about her shoe choice though.

Finally Those Red Streaks Have Gone Award
Jordin Sparks finally ditched those red streaks which she wore to every red carpet event last year. I’m glad it was just a 2008 fad.

The singer arrived wearing a vibrant silk blue pleated Jessica McClintock, with a rosette detail on the hip. She accessorized with gold sandals and a matching clutch.

Best TV Star Award
90210 actress Lori Laughlin wore a silver shimmering Gustavo Cadile dress, which she accessorized with a Swarovski clutch and jewels.

That’s Hot Award
This type of low-cut, full skirted Jenny Packham dress is perfect for Paris Hilton. The golden colour compliments her colouring, and I adore the floral appliqué and gold sequins which cover the dress.

She completed her look with large gold metallic pumps, and a cute Fendi bag.

Best Necklace/Best Mini Strapless Award
Malin Akerman wore a strapless colourblock dress by Jay Godfrey, which was a cute flirty choice.

She punched up her look with a large silver statement necklace and chunky bangles.

Best Floral Award
Carrie Underwood had the most changes of the night. She first wore a Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2009 gown on the red carpet.

This floral dress is really beautiful, as it also shimmers with the bead work and sequin embellishment. She completed her look with Cinta by John Hardy jewels, and a Mary Norton clutch.

Best Use Of Colour Award
Carrie wore a heavily embellished tangerine Jenny Packham Spring 2009 cocktail dress, when she accept her award for Favorite Female Singer.

Best Backstage Award
For her third and final dress, the Country singer wore a lime green empire-waist tiered gown.

It must have been an exhausting night for Miss Underwood with all those custom changes.

She completed her look with Cinta by John Hardy jewels.
