Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ 7th Annual Governors Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Academy Of Motion Picture Arts And Sciences’ 7th Annual Governors Awards Red Carpet Roundup

Here is a roundup of the presenters and guests who attended the 7th annual Governors Awards on Saturday (November 14) in Los Angeles, California.

Cate Blanchett: Looking so very statuesque, the Australian actress wore an Armani Privé black asymmetrical modernistic with black velvet trousers. Her classic, yet modern look was styled with Casadei cut-out sandals.

Saoirse Ronan: The ‘Brooklyn’ actress brought some much needed colour to the event dressed in an Emilia Wickstead Fall 2015 pleated and printed frock styled with Alexander McQueen heels. I love the additional pop of pink to the lips.

Zooey Deschanel: While this Kate Spade New York colour-block fit and flare dress is perfectly in tune with Zooey’s style, I don’t feel it was quite right for this occasion. The look was styled with Wolford tights.

Net-A-Porter Celebrates Rosetta Getty

Net-A-Porter Celebrates Rosetta Getty

Net-A-Porter hosted a dinner on Thursday (November 20) to celebrate the launch of Rosetta Getty’s namesake collection on Net-A-Porter.com, which launched today.

The designer states that her collection is for the modern woman who has a huge life and who isn’t going home to prepare for the next event. “It’s definitely for the woman on the go.”

From these three looks sported by Demi Moore, Marisa Tomei and Camilla Belle, that statement appears to be very true.

Each look can effortlessly transition from day to evening and is universally flattering with an easy to accessorize colour palette and soft tailoring.

Both Marisa and Camilla opted for a looser silhouette for their dinner party looks, but I have to say I’m quite taken with Demi’s look, going for a more fitted silhouette styled with a Louis Vuitton ‘Limelight’ clutch and Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals.

Marisa Tomei In Giambattista Valli – 2014 Fragrance Foundation Awards

Marisa Tomei In Giambattista Valli - 2014 Fragrance Foundation Awards

Marisa Tomei was also in attendance at the 2014 Fragrance Foundation Awards, hosted on Monday (June 16) at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

The actress mirrored the red carpet in her ruby-hued Giambattista Valli dress, which featured a structured silhouette and a bold, ruffled shoulder.

Naturally her Fred Leighton jewels were a main attraction, including the 1950s-era aquamarine and diamond earrings, a rubellite and diamond cocktail ring, and a diamond knot pinky ring.

Even with that sparkle, the look still registered as a bit lacklustre. Perhaps the nude Casadei pumps or the neutral-toned makeup were to blame.

Marisa Tomei In Tod’s – ‘The Normal Heart’ New York Premiere

Marisa Tomei In Tod's - 'The Normal Heart' New York Premiere

Marisa Tomei attended the New York premiere of ‘The Normal Heart’ held at Ziegfeld Theater on Monday (May 12) in New York City alongside Julia Roberts, Liv Tyler and Angelina Jolie.

The actress wore a full Tod’s Spring 2014 look.

We, or should I say I, often associate Tod’s as an accessories brand, so it’s great to see a full ready-to-wear look on the red carpet.

The look consisted of simple white blouse, full grey skirt accented with a corset style belt.

Her fringed open-toe Tod’s sandals grab my attention first.

Diane Von Furstenberg’s Journey Of A Dress Exhibition

Diane Von Furstenberg's Journey Of A Dress Exhibition 1The opening-party premiere of Diane Von Furstenberg’s ‘Journey of a Dress’ exhibition brought out a constellation of fashionable femmes (and fans) to preview the show at the Wilshire May Company Building in Los Angeles, California on Friday (January 10). Naturally, all the girls had on the best DVF designs.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Putting some sizzle into her strut, the actress vamped it up just a bit in a wrap jumpsuit, accented with a satin ribbon tie at the side. I found myself liking this sexy and streamlined approach from Gwynnie, especially with that magenta-pink lip. Yes, the plunge neckline is significant, but she’s perhaps one of the few that can make it work to her advantage.

Allison Williams: Looking as classically chic as ever, the ‘Girls’ starlet was oh-so-mod in a monochromatic ‘Amelia’ wrap dress with a flirty, graphic-patterned twirl skirt, from the Spring 2014 collection. She put a twist on the still-trending white pump with her Jimmy Choo ‘Madien’ pumps that were accented with a black ankle-strap and heel. Raising the girly look to a vintage-glam level, she styled her hair into a retro faux bob and painted on a deep-red lip.

Rooney Mara: The actress stayed in her black comfort zone in an asymmetrical dress topped off with a black satin ribbon. A tightly swept-back ‘do and oxblood lip added a more severe note to the loose frock—so, too, did the strange, one-shoulder jacket sleeve.
