Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Mandy Moore was at the Sunset Tower Hotel in LA on Wednesday evening wearing a Lela Rose braided metallic organza dress with the celebrities favourite – Christian Louboutin ‘Bis Un Bout’ pumps – to celebrate the launch of Rachel Zoe’s ‘Major Must Haves’ range from Jockey.

We had the opportunity to talk to the actress who shared her favourite red-carpet moments, how fashion plays a part in her marriage, what is inspiring her right now and her ever-changing hair colour.

On her red-carpet style vs. everyday style: It’s all sort of flying by the seat of my pants, to be completely honest, but I step it up a little bit more when I go to an event. My general style is pretty low-key. I’m more of the jeans, T-shirt and sneakers or flats kind of girl.

On her favourite red-carpet moment: I had the opportunity a year ago to go to the Oscars. That was pretty fun! I got to perform on the show, too. So, for me, that sets the bar.

On which of her Monique Lhuillier dresses she loved most at the Oscars: If I had to choose, I prefer the dress that I wore on the red carpet.

On how fashion plays a part in her marriage: I definitely have way more closet space than my husband. Absolutely! Other than that, no. He’s not as much into fashion. He has his look down: the metal T-shirt and the same two or three pairs of jeans in rotation. He doesn’t need as much space or pay attention to that stuff. I think he tends to think that a lot of what I love – being that I’m such a girl (shoes, clothes and makeup) – is silly, but he lets me do my thing.

On what’s inspiring her right now: Hopefully the cooler weather that we’re supposed to experience in LA some time soon. I want nothing more than to put on a pair of boots and a cosy sweater, like everybody else. I guess we’ll have to wait a little bit longer. I find this time of year to be way more inspiring and enjoyable than summer or spring. It’s a time to reinvent yourself.

On her ever-changing hair colour/style: I actually cut six inches off my hair today and did an ombre-ish color. I get bored!

Mandy Moore spent her Saturday afternoon at the Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades, California, attending the 3rd Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic event.

The singer has two favourite designers: Monique Lhuillier and Lela Rose.

On this occasion she picked a look from the latter, selecting a purple tweed dress with a pleated tulip-shaped skirt from the designer’s Fall 2012 collection.

This look is classic Mandy; cute, sophisticated and approachable.

A gold waistband, ankle strap Christian Louboutin pumps and barely-there makeup provided the finishing touches to her look.

Mandy Moore attended the Dove presentation of positive role models at ‘Girl Scouts Rock The Mall’ at the National Mall in Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

The actress/singer opted for a high-low mix wearing a Collette Dinnigan Fall 2011 top.

Her Rococo embroidered organza lace top was worn with cropped, distressed jeans and gladiator flats.

Sporting a rosy glow, she completed her look with a braided updo and a bright pink lip colour.

Mandy Moore also attended the 2012 CFDA Fashion Awards, held at the Alice Tully Hall in New York City on Monday evening.

The singer looked beautiful wearing a white draped Lela Rose Fall 2012 gown with embellished cap-sleeves.

As a long-time fan of Lela Rose, Mandy perfectly exemplifies the classic feminine look the designer is known for.

Prada shoes, an Edie Parker clutch and Adler earrings accessorized the look.

A high ponytail and bright-pink pout provide the finishing touches.

I’m trying not to let those Prada pumps ruin this look for me.

Deborah Lloyd, President and Creative Director of Kate Spade New York, hosted a dinner party at the Terrace Room at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood, California, to celebrate the debut of Brad Goreski’s book, Born to be Brad, yesterday.

Brad’s client Jessica Alba, as well as the gorgeous Minka Kelly and Mandy Moore, joined in the celebrations.

Jessica and Minka wore colourful Kate Spade New York ensembles whilst Mandy wore Lela Rose, but they couldn’t hold a candle to Brad who was decked out in a pink blazer with emerald-green pants with a signature-print bow tie.

I have to say, after Brad’s pink blazer and Jessica’s orange pants, my eye gravitates to Deborah Lloyd in the floral-print dress. A perfect advert for Kate Spade if I ever saw one. Talk about head-to-toe perfection.

Speaking of shoes, Jess wore Giuseppe Zanotti toe-cap pumps. I’m wondering why Mandy wore black pumps with her white dress and Minky opted for the second fail-safe black pumps, the Sergio Rossi ‘Cachet’ heels.

Mandy Moore attended the LA Gay & Lesbian Center’s “An Evening” honoring Rachel Zoe and benefitting Homeless Youth Services on Monday at Sunset Tower in West Hollywood yesterday.

She wore a Lela Rose Resort 2012 dress.

Her lace illusion sheath dress is beautiful, but I don’t like her overall part-boho, part-ladies who lunch look.

Whilst braid updos are very much on-trend at the moment, thanks to Jaime King, the style clashes with her sophisticated LBD.

Black accessories including a Kotur clutch and a bold red lip colour completed her look.
