Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Golden Girl Award
I was really excited to see what Kristen Stewart would wear at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards and she didn’t let me down.

She also skipped the red carpet, but dazzled on-stage wearing a Reem Acra Spring 2011 dress when she collected her ‘Favorite Movie Actress’ award.

Her gold sequined dress was typically shortened from the runway, which tells us that Kristen knows her best feature are her legs.

The back of the dress has an interesting twist as it’s peach satin and not gold sequined like the front.

A thick brown belt and black Jimmy Choo peep-toes completed her look.

Best Mum-to-Be Award
Natalie Portman skipped the red carpet at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards, but she was on hand to present with Ashton Kutcher at the event.

The mum-to-be wore a Jason Wu Pre-Fall 2011 dress.

The violet 60s style loose fitting dress with teal ruffled tiers and black trims was teamed with mesh Dior pumps.

She oozed that regal elegance which we’ve come expect from the talented actress.

I’m curious to see how her maternity style develops.

Best Modified Re-Run Award
Kim Kardashian was one of my favourite on the red carpet at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards.

She looked stunning wearing a gold brocade strapless Malandrino dress.

This gold dress has been worn 3 times before by Catherine Malandrino, Mary J Blige and Drew Barrymore, but this is the first time we’ve seen it worn as a cocktail dress.

I’m surprised to see that Kim didn’t add a belt like Drew did.

A gold Rina Limor necklace, Amrapali earrings, a Chanel clutch (as seen on Sex And the City) and a voluminous updo completed her look.

Unpredictable Award
Country singer Taylor Swift looked adorable as she graced the red carpet at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards last night.

She was up for two music awards at this event, but my award goes to her for not being predictable.

Taylor starts her 2011 red carpet campaign wearing a J. Mendel Spring 2011 dress.

Her stunning peach pleated cocktail dress was accented with a beaded belt and paired with Neil Lane jewels and Prada suede heels.

Her look is 50% sweet, 50% Rodarte-inspired but 100% refreshing.

American Vogue readers will recognise this dress as Natalie Portman wears it on the January 2011 cover.

Best Boho Award
Ashley Tisdale was amongst the many stars to attend last night’s 2011 People’s Choice Awards.

She looked gorgeous standing out wearing a stunning Farah Angsana Spring 2011 dress.

The strapless printed maxi dress with a sweetheart neckline and nude corset was boho glam at its finest.

The soft and feminine look was accessorized with a Dana Rebecca Designs jewels and a sparkling Swarovski clutch.

Should’ve Worn The Runway Colour Award
When I saw Emma Roberts on the red carpet at the 2011 People’s Choice Awards, I wondered if she has been taking style tips from her Aunt Julia Roberts who loves black.

It makes me wonder because why would someone so young and cute opt out of wearing this Christian Dior Spring 2011 dress in purple?

Granted the black ruffled version has an air sophistication which befits the young actress, but her look would’ve been more fun in purple with a contrasting belt.

Do you agree?

Carla Amorim rose gold ‘Planetary’ earrings, a black Miu Miu clutch and Brian Atwood Maniac pumps completed her look.
