Red Carpet Fashion Awards

Last month two very stylish mums were spotted wearing this Isabel Marant denim dress.

Jessica Alba wore her peasant dress with black combat boots on a brunch date with her family in LA.

A few days later Maggie Gyllenhaal was spotted wearing the same dress whilst strolling through the West Village in New York City with her young daughter.

She paired her mini dress with maroon shorts, red sandals and a beige cardigan.

I prefer how Jessica wore this as a dress compared to Maggie who’s wore it as a top, so Jessica wins for me.

Last night Yves Saint Laurent premiered its latest fragrance ‘Belle D’Opium’ in New York City and threw a swanky party to celebrate it.

Many stars attended including Ashley Olsen.

Normally I don’t stop to pay much attention to the Olsen’s, but I must say I do love her turban. It brightens up what would’ve been a very dull look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal looks stunning wearing a sweetheart neckline pink chiffon YSL Edition Soir 2010 dress which she paired with Yves Saint Laurent Hamptons Tribute sandals.

Whitney Port has fallen in love with Yigal Azrouël Spring 2010 collection as she’s wearing her second piece.

This time she wears a black Yigal Azrouël cut-out jersey dress, with black pumps and a black Giuseppe Zanotti bag.

Alexa Chung – who was the DJ on the night – was of course in YSL.

She wore a pair of leather slashed shorts from the Spring 2010 collection.

I love the simple grey tee, but I the Mulberry bag and that granny cardigan has to go.

I continue to find Maggie Gyllenhaal fascinating on the red carpet.

She doesn’t appear to make much effort, but always looks fabulous.

Last night she attended the New York City Ballet’s 2010 Dance With The Dancers Benefit wearing an interesting 3.1 Phillip Lim Resort 2010 jumpsuit.

After seeing Jessica Biel in her jumpsuit earlier today I felt inspired and purchased a vintage one from Rokit, now I can totally justify my impulse purchase as being on trend as Maggie also wore a jumpsuit.

I love how interesting this jumpsuit is with the mixed jacquard which doesn’t so up too well on the model.

The draped detail from her left shoulder really makes me fall in love with look as it adds a chic touch to a simple jumpsuit.

Hot red lips and ivory earrings complete the look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal continues to blow me away at big events.

At the Costume Institute Gala last night she definitely got the thumbs up from me.

I’m not at all surprised that she was the first in the US to wear a look from Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2010 collection, as she’s totally fearless when it comes to fashion.

I have a feeling this won’t be a popular as say Anne Hathaway’s look, but I love the poufy skirt and the fact that Maggie lets the dress do all the talking by not accessorizing.

I would love to see more from this collection on the red carpet.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is in London tonight for the premiere of her new movie “Nanny McPhee And The Big Bang”.

The last time we saw Maggie on the red carpet she dazzled us at the Oscars wearing a strong print.

This time she dazzle again even though her look was more subtle wearing a black Vionnet Pre-Fall 2010 dress.

Despite not being a lover of black dresses, this one sleeve dress is really interesting as the opposite side of the dress has a cream pleated panel.

I expected something wild and bright from Maggie, but I got chic, elegant and sophisticated.

BDOTW for me.

LOVE this look.

Fabulous Florals Award
I totally expected Maggie Gyllenhaal to give us something interesting on the red carpet at the 2010 Oscars, and she didn’t disappoint.

The nominated actress wore a Dries van Noten strapless dress which was made from the same print we saw in the recent Fall 2010 presentation.

The draped evening dress with ruffle in the back was hand painted in bright blue brush strokes which fading out to white at the hem.

I love the dress, the pink lips and her swept back into an elegant chignon.

Her look was paired with Fred Leighton jewels.
