Maggie Gyllenhaal In Roland Mouret – ‘The Honourable Woman’ New York Screening

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Roland Mouret - 'The Honourable Woman' New York Screening

Maggie Gyllenhaal made her second appearance on the red carpet this week, this time for Sundance TV’s ‘The Honourable Woman’ screening held at the Crosby Street Hotel on Wednesday (July 23) in New York City.

The actress wore a Roland Mouret ‘Hornet’ halter dress from the Fall 2014 Collection featuring thick black straps, signature folds and an intricate embroidered patterned lace overlay.

The usual simple styling applies here, with a glossy lip colour providing the finishing touches.

I know some aren’t too fond of calf-length dresses, but I think Maggie is statuesque enough to pull off this length. Do you agree?

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Maison Martin Margiela - 'Very Good Girls' New York Premiere

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the ‘Very Good Girls’ premiere held at the Tribeca Grand Hotel on Monday (July 21) in New York City.

The actress wore a Maison Martin Margiela sand-coloured loose-cut jumpsuit. Embodying urban cool, this expertly tailored yet relaxed utilitarian-chic piece was styled with black Roger Vivier pumps and red Bulgari ‘Serpenti’ shoulder bag

As always, just a touch of rouge lip colour rounded out her look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Peter Som – Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Peter Som - Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the Women In Film 2014 Crystal + Lucy Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Wednesday (June 11) in Century City, California.

The actress wore a Peter Som Fall 2013 look featuring the signature blurred floral print for the season.

With such a dramatic set of prints, Maggie opted to style the shallow V-neck gown – featuring delicate cross-back straps and a sheer overlay on the skirt – with just a pair of Jennifer Meyer drop earrings and a pink lip shade.

Was minimalist styling the right option here, or would a yellow clutch have been a nice option to bring out the subtle tones in the print?

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Dolce & Gabbana – 2014 Tony Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Dolce & Gabbana - 2014 Tony Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the 68th Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (June 8) in New York City.

The actress wore Dolce & Gabbana, but not your average Dolce & Gabbana lace or satin gown; this strapless confection was festooned with feathers, plus it had a beaded bust.

This is quite a leap away from the actress’s love for bohemian luxe, but a leap that landed successfully due to her minimal styling.

Do you share my enthusiasm for this feathered look?

Burberry Hosts New Museum Artists Dinner

Burberry Hosts New Museum Artists Dinner

Burberry hosted a dinner party in honour of the New Museum Artists held at Lafayette in New York City on Wednesday (May 7) ahead of the third annual Frieze Art Fair.

Suki Waterhouse: The British model wore a soft-blue Burberry Prorsum Pre-Fall 2014 sheer chiffon dress with a plunging neckline and slits in the skirt styled with nude Casadei platform pumps.

Dianna Agron: The ‘Glee’ star wore a navy and brown scoop-neck dress, but it’s her accessories which take centre stage. While not a fan of mixing metals, I do find her gold jewels and silver Burberry ‘Taylor’ sandals intriguing as much as the magenta lip colour. The clutch is a bit blah.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: This is the actress’s second Burberry Prorsum look in the last 5 days. On this occasion she wore a Fall 2014 loose-fit keyhole printed dress, adding a rare punchy pink lip plus patterned pumps and a gold clutch. I love the accessories as it would’ve been so easy to keep it simple with black pumps here.

Christian Dior Cruise 2015 Front Row

Dior Cruise 2015 Front Row

The Christian Dior Cruise 2015 show took place on Wednesday (May 7) in Brooklyn, New York City.

The front row was packed with Dior devotees, with Jennifer Lawrence notably absent as she is currently filming ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ in Paris, France.

Rihanna: Despite the tattoos and our knowledge of the Bajan star telling us otherwise, Rihanna looked really sweet wearing a dainty Dior pale-pink quilted silk dress with a ruffled hemline. The look was styled with Dior tri-colour pumps with an asymmetrical strap, and a metallic top-handle ‘Lady Dior’ bag from the Spring 2014 collection, plus a ‘Diorific’ necklace and bracelet and ‘Mise en Dior’ earrings.

Marion Cotillard: Just when I thought the French actress had turned a corner, she’s back to selecting tent dresses. It’s a shimmering Dior off white silk Fall 2014 dress with an embroidered off white knitted t-shirt, but oversized and unflattering nonetheless. It screams maternity. Her Dior choices continue to baffle me.

Margot Robbie: The actress is not having a good week. First the Met Gala and now this. Possibly the excessive tan is at fault here, as it’s clashing with her Dior gold lamé Pre-Fall 2014 skirt which was paired with a Dior green wool crepe top. She styled her look with a Dior black clutch and pumps, plus one of those ‘Diorganic’ necklaces featuring a waterfall of green crystals and resin beads that entwine around the neck like leaves which hails from the Spring 2014 collection.
