Carey Mulligan has become SO interesting to watch on the red carpet lately as she’s fearless.

Many newcomers may have picked something safe for a big premiere, but Carey thought stuff that I’m going to wear this gladiatorial Prada Fall 2009 studded dress and steal the headlines.

And she did.

Only the somewhat safe pieces have been worn from this collection, so I really admire Carey as she really went for it.

Many will mock her and I’m sure many will hate this look, but I applaud the British actress.

You would’ve expected Maggie Gyllenhaal to have stood out at this premiere being the bigger star.

But I guess since she isn’t actually in this movie and was only there to support her husband Peter Sarsgaard last night, she didn’t want to outshine the Carey on her big night.

Maggie opted for a sleek strapless black Prada jumpsuit and a large black clutch.

Very simple, yet very elegant.

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a custom-made longer version of the Lanvin leopard print dress that was presented on the runway, when she arrived at the Golden Globe Awards back in January.

She certainly stood out from the other actresses, because we don’t often see leopard print at major awards shows, but she pulled her look off well.

Last month, Spanish actress Bibiana Fernandez wore the runway version of this dress, with a gold pair of Christian Louboutin multi buckle sandals.

Both women look fantastic, but given the choice, I would take the shorter version, and Bibi heels are fierce, so she wins for me.

Best Dressed Award
What more can be said about the stunning Olivia Wilde, that has not been said already?

She was one of the first to hit the red carpet in her exquisite Reem Acra Bridal Spring 2008 gown.

The gown had an jewel detail on the hip, and a gorgeous ruffled skirt.

Most Dramatic Award
Finally some Versace Spring 2009 on the red carpet.

January Jones was one of the few to bring drama to the red carpet wearing a Versace one-shouldered gown, with gold trim folds for added detail.

Biggest Hair Award
Drew Barrymore was stunning on the red carpet. Her hair was teased into a big style ala Marylin Monroe.

Her grey/blue John Galliano gown hung delicately off her shoulder, as she channeled Old Hollywood.

Best Gown Award
Maggie Gyllenhaal looked charming wearing a blue leopard print Lanvin Spring 2009 asymmetrical gown, which was presented on the runway in a much shorter style.

Best Strapless Gown Award
Jennifer Morrison’s electric blue Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2009 was beautifully complimented with her blue stone Lorraine Schwartz earrings, which were made specially for the dress.

Best Dressed Brit Award
Kate Winslet did us Brits proud, not only in the style stakes wearing this YSL strapless gown. But by also winning the Best Supporting Actress award for The Reader.

She sparkled in Chopard jewels.

The Turn Back Time Award
I don’t know how Demi Moore does it, but she must bottle it, and sell it.

Demi showed us why she is married to a much younger man, when she walked the red carpet wearing this cute pink Christian Dior Spring 2009 haltered gown.

The actress turned back the clock at least 20 years.

Best Black Award
Evan Rachel Wood’s Elie Saab Fall 2006 Couture black tiered gown, was by far the best black dress on the red carpet, as it shimmered as walked.

Again there is not a hit of Dita von Teese.

Best Asymmetrical Dress Award
I am so proud of America Ferrera, because she didn’t wear black, as I was expecting her to.

Instead she opted for this silver asymmetrical Oscar de la Renta Pre-Fall 2009 dress, which was actually presented in black.

I love the gathered detail on the skirt, and the embellished detail on the neckline.

Most Vibrant/Best Red Award
Eva Longoria’s red Reem Acra gown, more than stood out against the red carpet. The actress who is just recovering from a cold, showed no signs of illness as she looked red hot.

She completed her look with a Daniel Swarovski silver clutch.

Most Improved Award
I really love this Reem Acra Pre-Fall 2009 gown on Rumer Willis.

Finally she has found a dress that compliments her hair.

Most Va Va Voom Award
I thought Hayden Panettiere looked outstanding, as she brought out the sex kitten wearing this Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2008 strapless eggplant gown.

This dress may look familiar, and that’s because it’s from the same collection as the dress Jennifer Morrison wore to the People’s Choice Awards.

Best Floral Award
Jenna Fischer looked ethereal in a multi floral print silk chiffon V-neck Zuhair Murad Resort 2009 gown with crystal embellished waist.

She completed her look with Chopard jewels.

Best Curves Award
Salma Hayek wore a figure-hugging Bottega Veneta gown, which shows us that my sexy senorita is back to her beautiful best.

She completes her look with Boucheron jewels.

If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It/Another Strapless Gown Award
Kate Beckinsale is starting to become really predictable.

Yes she has a body to die for, and look fabulous in this J. Mendel gown. But I hope for her next red carpet appearance she wears something other than a figure-hugging strapless gown.

Best Over 40 Award
It not all about the youngsters. Kristin Scott Thomas more than held her own on the red carpet wearing a silk champagne Lanvin gown with sash neck-tie.

Good, But Not Great Award
Angelina Jolie’s shimmering Atelier Versace gown with a thigh-high split is not black - thankfully.

Best Couture Award
Anne Hathaway’s Armani Privé Fall 2006 gown was embroidered with Swarovski crystals. I wanted to be more wowed by her dress, but she does look absolutely stunning.

Best Necklace Award
Beyonce was not going to take any risks tonight, so she returned to her old friend Elie Saab who created this stunning strapless Spring 2008 Couture embroidered gown.

For those of you who watched the red carpet show on E!, you would have noticed that the dress was a little tight around the hips on B.

I really liked Beyonce necklace, which complimented the jeweled detail on the gown.

Best Colour Co-Ordination Award
I love how Christina Applegate complimented her yellow Roberto Cavalli strapless gown with yellow Lorraine Schwartz jewels and yellow diamond clutch.

Best Nude Award
Nude dress and gowns were very popular at this event, but for me Elizabeth Banks’ J. Mendel Spring 2009 ruffled gown, stood out the most.

“The Reader” New York Premiere

I know we are Herve Leger overload, but there is no denying how great Kate Winslet looks showing of her fine figure in this taupe cleavage-baring bandage dress.

The strappy satin t-bar sandals are just perfect this look.

This has to be the first time I have ever dislike anything worn by Georgina Chapman.

I really can not find one element of this look that I like.

“Twilight” UK Premiere

Kristen Stewart looks like the kind of girl who would be more comfortable in jeans and a tee, but she does pull of this charcoal grey La Perla Spring 2009 asymmetric dress really well, as it is quite dark and mysterious like her.

Much kudos to her for wearing this dress without a coat, because it was -1 in London yesterday. Brrrrr.

2008 UNICEF Snowflake Ball, New York

Lauren Bush has been carrying a tote version of her FEED bag which supports the UN World Food Programme, but now she has a very trendy clutch.

She carried her clutch with a red and black check Ralph Lauren Fall 2008 asymmetric gown.

This look is simplistic elegance.

Barbara Bush looks divine wearing one of my favourite dresses from the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 collection.

The pale taupe embroidered gown has a silver sash at the waist. This is a fabulous look for Barbara.

Best Dressed Of The Week is not going to be easy to select.

Revealing strapless bra aside, this an amazing asymmetric white gown for Tea Leoni, as it shows of her drop-dead gorgeous body perfectly.

“Nothing Like The Holidays” Los Angeles Premiere

Hands down this has got to be the most disappointing dress Debra Messing has ever worn on the red carpet.

The colour washes her out slightly, and the Donna Karan Resort 2009 dress, does nothing for her, giving her a very boxy shape.

The champagne heels are nice though.

2008 Duracell Power A Smile Campaign Launch, New York

Maggie Gyllenhaal wore a tan ivy print Stella McCartney Pre-Fall 2008 long sleeved dress to this event, with black boots.

The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!, LA

Just when I thought things were on the up for Christina Aguilera, she takes another step back.

The make-up is not great, and this shimmering Monique Lhuillier Fall 2007
gown is ruined by her falsies.

Long before Michelle Obama wore Narciso Rodriguez, Rachel Weisz was very faithful to the brand.

The actress wore a red and black Narciso Rodriguez Spring 2009 with the trademark banding strips across the entire dress. This is a great look for Rachel, and it stays on the right side of sexy.

My first wow was for Nicole Kidman today, my second was for Joy Bryant.

She blew me away wearing this mustard coloured Missoni Spring 2009 plunge-neck jumpsuit, as it is daring and the colour is so buttery against her silky skin.

You may remember a few weeks ago that Mena Suvari wore a similar jumpsuit from the same collection.

Zoe Kravitz is wearing the same Matthew Williamson Spring 2009 peachy strapless dress, which Cheryl Cole wore on the X Factor on the weekend.

I prefer the embellished jacket more than the dress on her.

Maggie Gyllenhaal will have anti-fur protesters knocking at her door as she opted for a Louis Vuitton Fall 2008 fur stole over her LBD.

Jessica Biel for once is not so boring, nor bland. OK, it is just a LBD, but the hair and make-up is a vast improvement from her promotion trip of a few weeks ago.

Anna Wintour in Prada, of course.

Agyness Deyn and her boyfriend Albert Hammond Jr., mock the silhoutte behind them, to show their love.

Seriously, who let her in looking like that?

Mischa Barton attended the Hugo Boss Fashion Show during Berlin Fashion Week back in July, wearing a charcoal grey Hugo Boss Fall 2008 dress.

The actress accessorized her dress with a studded belt and black heels

Actress Maggie Gyllenhaal wore the same dress when she attended the opening of the new Hugo Boss Concept Store in the Meatpacking District in New York last month.

The actress wore her dress with thick tights and grey booties.

Mischa’s belt helps her win this for me.

Comme des Garcons for H&M Collection Preview, New York

Another night, another great dress for Becki Newton. Girlfriend is on fire.

The actress matches her gold heels with the gold stripes on her mini Marc Jacobs dress.

Selena Gomez wears an all black ensemble with consists of a black bustier, pants and pumps.

Very muted for the young star.

Jessica Szohr wears just a white blouse and black pants. Nothing interesting to add.

Tatyana Ali opted to dress from the H&M sale rail.

Maggie Gyllenhaal looks for the nearest exit, at this event of poorly dressed people.

Grand Opening Of Arcade Boutique By Rochelle Gores, LA

Mischa Barton jobs seems to be traveling around the world appearing on the red carpet. Does she even act these days?

Mischa wore a Herve Leger multi-coloured strapless dress with black booties.

SVEDKA VODKA Presents Hollywood, DC: Lights! Camera! Election!, LA

Despite the tired red eyes Heidi Montag looks gorgeous wearing a Velvet Tanyette fringe dress with black strappy sandals.

Heidi is not my favourite person on the red carpet, but give credit were credit is due, especially when Pratt is not in the picture.

Antonio “L.A.” Reid Launches Le Metier de Beaute Luxury Cosmetic Line, New York

Since her marriage to Nick Cannon, Mariah Carey never seems to be at home. She is always on the red carpet. Is that because she is scared to actually stay at home with her husband and realise they actually have nothing in common?

Anyways, her dress is surprisingly unoffensive, in fact, I really like the colour of this dress, and the high neckline on her.

I was loving Eve’s new due until she added that platinum piece in it.

She does seem to be loving her blazers, which she wears over her grey lace dress.
