Who Wore Burberry Prorsum Better…Maggie Gyllenhaal or Olivia Palermo?

Who Wore Burberry Prorsum Better Maggie Gyllenhaal or Olivia Palermo

Back in May, Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the New Museum Artist Dinner hosted by Burberry wearing a look from the British brand’s Fall 2014 collection.

The loose-fit keyhole hand-printed dress was matched with a rare punchy pink lip, patterned pumps and a gold clutch.

There was nothing rare about Olivia Palermo’s styling when she gave the look a second spin while attending the Chadstone’s Icons Of Style campaign event in Australia last month.

Adding the runway printed scarf, a yellow clutch and Aquazzura sandals, the look was instantly Oliviarized.

I deliberated for a while on this one: was the scarf too much on Olivia? Should I give this to Maggie because she made the look her own?

Eventually I went with the super-stylish Olivia, mostly for her addition of the yellow clutch.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Derek Lam – ‘Frank’ New York Premiere

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Derek Lam - 'Frank' New York Premiere

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the ‘Frank’ premiere held at the Sunshine Landmark on Tuesday (August 5) in New York City.

Opting for the same burgundy Valentino shoes we saw her wearing last week, the actress wore a Derek Lam Resort 2015 dress.

The crisp white dress with just one modern detail – the ruffled sleeves – is most definitely in tune with the actress’s simple and elegant style.

Brightening up her look along with her ruby pumps, she added a pretty pink lip colour.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Wes Gordon – Good Morning America

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Wes Gordon - Good Morning America

Maggie Gyllenhaal was up early this morning (July 31) for her guest appearance on ‘Good Morning America’ taped at the ABC Times Square Studios in New York City to promote her new TV show ‘The Honourable Woman’.

I wasn’t too enamoured with the look she wore on ‘The Daily Show’ yesterday, but this Wes Gordon Resort 2015 look oozed charm and sophistication, everything we expect from the actress.

Falling below the knee, the dress – or top and skirt – features intricate metallic embroidery to visually make this look more appealing.

Factor in those rich burgundy ankle-strap pointy pumps and the simple styling, and this is much more like it from Maggie.

Maggie Gyllenhaal was spotted headed to a studio in New York City to make a guest appearance on ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ to promote her new TV show, ‘The Honourable Woman’, yesterday (July 30).

The actress wore a Vionnet Pre-Fall 2014 bright orange fitted V-neck dress with kimono-style sleeves, to which she added white pear-shaped earrings and black pumps.

Aside from the styling, which I do not favour, I was racking my brain to figure out what was different about her look on this occasion, then I realized that this might be the first time in a very long while that the actress has worn any dress above the knee.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Roland Mouret – ‘The Honourable Woman’ New York Screening

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Roland Mouret - 'The Honourable Woman' New York Screening

Maggie Gyllenhaal made her second appearance on the red carpet this week, this time for Sundance TV’s ‘The Honourable Woman’ screening held at the Crosby Street Hotel on Wednesday (July 23) in New York City.

The actress wore a Roland Mouret ‘Hornet’ halter dress from the Fall 2014 Collection featuring thick black straps, signature folds and an intricate embroidered patterned lace overlay.

The usual simple styling applies here, with a glossy lip colour providing the finishing touches.

I know some aren’t too fond of calf-length dresses, but I think Maggie is statuesque enough to pull off this length. Do you agree?
