Maggie Gyllenhaal In Alexander McQueen – 40th Anniversary Gracies Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Alexander McQueen - 40th Anniversary Gracies Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the 40th Anniversary Gracies Awards hosted at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Tuesday (May 19) in Beverly Hills, California.

The beauty of her Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2015 gown was in the sleekly tailored silhouette magnified by the bold shoulders and the striking embellishment at the sleeves.

The dress was very much aligned to her minimally elegant style, while also conveying a dark romanticism that we don’t always see from Maggie.

A strawberry-red lip completed the simple yet powerful statement.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Roland Mouret – 2015 Met Gala

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Roland Mouret - 2015 Met Gala

Maggie Gyllenhaal also took to the 2015 Met Gala red carpet in New York City this evening (May 4).

For the grand fashion occasion, Maggie wore a Roland Mouret gown and Roland Mouret Palais Royal clutch. Bold gold earrings and few delicate bracelets and rings are the perfect accessories for the look.

The asymmetrical straps, the banded bodice, the peekaboo cut-out and the sash belt–there is so much intrigue and visual appeal to this dress that I seriously think I could stare at it for days. Maggie’s style is so down-to-earth and approachable, and this dress is the perfect option for her, because although it is so intriguing, there is an ease to it that keeps it from being too fussy.

Bold lashes, flushed cheeks and a matte red lip complete Maggie’s fabulous look.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Roland Mouret – 2015 Elle Style Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Roland Mouret - 2015 Elle Style Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the 2015 Elle Style Awards on Tuesday (February 24) in London, England.

The actress, who picked up the Best TV Actress award for ‘The Honourable Woman’, wore a Roland Mouret custom dress.

I love how this dress fuses vibrant colour with contemporary construction all while featuring the designer’s signature folded detailing.

Her Salvatore Ferragamo shoes could’ve been more exciting, but she saved the final flourish for her colourful Proenza Schouler clutch, which amped up the timeless dress.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Thakoon – 2015 SAG Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the 2015 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday (January 25) at L.A.’s Shrine Auditorium.

Maggie joined many other red carpet beauties by wearing white. Her custom Thakoon gown was glamorous, effortless, and laid-back all at the same time.

The long-sleeved design injected a 70’s vibe into the red carpet, which was unique to all the other gowns. The dress featured a plunging neckline with a sheer panel detail at the bust and soft ruching with a center slit for bonus glamour.

I love that Maggie’s makeup is simple–a bold red lip–which paired well with her gilded box clutch and gold jewels by Bvlgari and Fred Leighton.

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Miu Miu – 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal In Miu Miu - 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the 2015 Golden Globes Awards on Sunday (January 11) in Beverly Hills, California.

Maggie, who is nominated for “Best Actress in a TV Movie or Miniseries”  for her work in The Honourable Woman, picked a rosy Miu Miu column dress.

While a straight silhouette is a viable option for any red carpet attendee, this ensemble was quite dull especially for a Golden Globe nominee. Though muted pink isn’t a universally flattering color, the lack of statement accessories is what really hindered this ensemble. Note to self: a single lackluster bracelet makes an otherwise symmetrical outfit feel a bit crooked.

To look more like a nominee, the actress should’ve opted for a statement necklace or a vibrant hue.

Who Wore Burberry Prorsum Better…Maggie Gyllenhaal or Olivia Palermo?

Who Wore Burberry Prorsum Better Maggie Gyllenhaal or Olivia Palermo

Back in May, Maggie Gyllenhaal attended the New Museum Artist Dinner hosted by Burberry wearing a look from the British brand’s Fall 2014 collection.

The loose-fit keyhole hand-printed dress was matched with a rare punchy pink lip, patterned pumps and a gold clutch.

There was nothing rare about Olivia Palermo’s styling when she gave the look a second spin while attending the Chadstone’s Icons Of Style campaign event in Australia last month.

Adding the runway printed scarf, a yellow clutch and Aquazzura sandals, the look was instantly Oliviarized.

I deliberated for a while on this one: was the scarf too much on Olivia? Should I give this to Maggie because she made the look her own?

Eventually I went with the super-stylish Olivia, mostly for her addition of the yellow clutch.
