Red Carpet Fashion Awards

I love Balmain. As a result I’m obsessed with anything with shoulder pads.

Thankfully the high street have embraced the bold shoulder to fuel my current addition.

I have Zara’s Balmain-esqe blazer, a few H&M’s Balmain-esqe dresses, and a few Topshop padded tops.

You would think that because of my love for Balmain, I would go gaga over Madonna wearing a Balmain Fall 2009 bejeweled dress in the video for her new single “Celebration”.

I didn’t, because frankly Madonna bores me and she has done for a long while.

The last single of hers I liked was ‘Human Nature’, and that was back in 1995.

It was a smart move for her to wear a Balmain dress to cause a stir in the fashion world as Balmain is so hot right now, but I still don’t like it on her.

Someone young and fresh like Rihanna would have been better suited to wear this dress.

Madonna’s dress is paired with Christian Louboutin Supre Fifre over-the-knee corset boots, which are the same boots Lindsay Lohan wears on the cover of the September 2009 edition of Elle UK.

I’m sure many of you will think she looks fierce, but I’m so numb to her.

They’re the biggest diva’s in entertainment and they both wore this sexy Dolce & Gabbana dress on the same day.

Someone’s head’s going to roll, if it’s not bouncing down a street already.

Whitney Houston dazzled the press at the London launch party for her new album – ‘I Look to You’ – wearing this figure-hugging leopard print Dolce & Gabbana dress.

She has finally put her troubled past behind her and is looking better than ever.

The singer wore a sparkling black choker, sheer tights and black heels to complete her comeback look.

Madonna unknowingly stole Whitney’s comeback thunder by wearing the same dress when she arrived at Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s “Gold” club after performing in Milan.

The fashion designers were happily at her side upon arrival.

She wore her dress with Christian Louboutin Lillian Mary Janes, a crucifix and a silver bracelet.

As much as I want to give this to Whitney, the choker and tights ruined the look for me so Madonna wins.

This dress is available from Luisa via Roma for £1,181.12/€1,349/$2,251.30.

Ad Between Posts

Here is a behind the scenes video of Madonna getting ready to shoot her new ad campaign for Louis Vuitton.

The great thing is you can now see the stark contrast between reality and photo-shopping, or as Marc Jacobs put it “solarization.”

For me the most interesting part of this film is hearing Marc talk about the campaign. Madonna is just being Madonna.

Here are a second set of pictures from Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2009 campaign featuring a very over photoshopped Madonna.

She’s still wearing those infamous Bunny Ears, but poses in a variety of dresses and an array of stunning bags.

The campaign is set to be featured in August fashion magazines.

I’m not liking this campaign at all. What do you think of these newer pictures?

Here is a first look at Madonna’s Fall 2009 ad campaign for Louis Vuttion as she reprises her role as the face of brand.

She’s of course wearing the bunny ears which she sported at the Costume Institute Gala plus a magenta dress with voluminous sleeves and a poufy skirt.

I don’t know about you but this picture is over photoshopped for my liking. She’s barely recognizable.

The only thing that hasn’t been retouched is the monogram bag.
