Lupita Nyong'o In Giambattista Valli - 7th Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon

Lupita Nyong’o attended the 7th annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood luncheon held at Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday (February 27) in Beverly Hills, California.

Some actresses, like Christina Ricci, who have this uncanny ability to look 6ft tall. While I didn’t think Lupita was that tall, she certainly has the ability to look very statuesque which is why I was so surprised to discover how petite she was at today’s event.

We’ve seen Lupita master every trend, but the crop top trend which she worked today wearing a Giambattista Valli Spring 2014 cream two-piece look styled with matching Sophia Webster shoes, an Elie Saab clutch and Neil Lane jewels.

Opting to keep her hair simple on this occasion, she did added a gold hair band for a delightfully dainty touch.

Lupita Nyong'o In Stella McCartney - LoveGold Honors Academy Award Nominee Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong’o wowed on the red carpet as she was honoured by LoveGold at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Wednesday, (February 26).

Proving once again that this is the woman who can pull off serious colour, Lupita wore a spectacular blue Stella McCartney dress with cut-out detailing and satin waist band.

The Academy Awards Nominee opted for an on-trend all-blue look by accessorising with a pair of royal blue Christian Louboutin pumps, Elena Votsi globe drop earrings and a dark blue Rauwolf box clutch.

But the highlight of this look has to be the striking blue eyeshadow. Normally this would be an instant fail but here it makes Luptia’s eyes pop. But what do you think, is it too much or do you agree that it’s great to see such a bold make-up look?

And now that we’ve seen her try out green at the 2014 BAFTAs and pink at the Chanel party, what colour will it be for this weekend’s Oscars?

Lupita Nyong’o joined Michelle Dockery and Julianne Moore on the red carpet for the LA premiere of ‘Non-Stop’ held at the Regency Village Theatre on Monday (February 24) in Westwood, California.

Opting for a similar coppery hue to her NAACP Image Awards gown, the actress selected Lanvin on this occasion.

Her Spring 2014 shiny lamé plisse strapless dress looked slightly different to the dress which we saw on the runway, as the actress opted wear the dress with the black zipper showing to given the look a whole new dimension.

Keeping the high-shine, metallic finish theme going, she styled the look with Sergio Rossi pumps, a black Rauwolf clutch, a Solange Azagury-Partridge ring and Janis Savitt earrings.

You’ll be glad to see that she switched up the hairstyle from Saturday, giving us yet another sharp, fresh ‘do, with her makeup being the only thing that could possibly out-shine her frock.

It was a resounding nay on her Givenchy gown, so how does this look fare?

Best Dressed Of The Week - Lupita Nyong'o In Christian Dior Couture & Carina Lau In Ralph & Russo

Lupita Nyong’o was your best dressed this week for the Christian Dior Couture gown she wore to the BAFTAs.
As much as I loved the gown and the colour against her skin, there was – much like her SAG Awards Ralph Lauren cape gown – a feeling of déjà vu.

Even without the déjà vu, I would’ve still crowned Carina Lau my favourite in her Ralph & Russo Couture pink cocktail dress, which was far more enticing and original in design. My runner up was Suki, also in Ralph & Russo.
