Lupita Nyong’o In Stella McCartney – LoveGold Honors Academy Award Nominee Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong'o In Stella McCartney - LoveGold Honors Academy Award Nominee Lupita Nyong'o

Lupita Nyong’o wowed on the red carpet as she was honoured by LoveGold at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles on Wednesday, (February 26).

Proving once again that this is the woman who can pull off serious colour, Lupita wore a spectacular blue Stella McCartney dress with cut-out detailing and satin waist band.

The Academy Awards Nominee opted for an on-trend all-blue look by accessorising with a pair of royal blue Christian Louboutin pumps, Elena Votsi globe drop earrings and a dark blue Rauwolf box clutch.

But the highlight of this look has to be the striking blue eyeshadow. Normally this would be an instant fail but here it makes Luptia’s eyes pop. But what do you think, is it too much or do you agree that it’s great to see such a bold make-up look?

And now that we’ve seen her try out green at the 2014 BAFTAs and pink at the Chanel party, what colour will it be for this weekend’s Oscars?

Lupita Nyong’o In Lanvin – ‘Non-Stop’ LA Premiere

Lupita Nyong'o In Lanvin - 'Non-Stop' LA Premiere

Lupita Nyong’o joined Michelle Dockery and Julianne Moore on the red carpet for the LA premiere of ‘Non-Stop’ held at the Regency Village Theatre on Monday (February 24) in Westwood, California.

Opting for a similar coppery hue to her NAACP Image Awards gown, the actress selected Lanvin on this occasion.

Her Spring 2014 shiny lamé plisse strapless dress looked slightly different to the dress which we saw on the runway, as the actress opted wear the dress with the black zipper showing to given the look a whole new dimension.

Keeping the high-shine, metallic finish theme going, she styled the look with Sergio Rossi pumps, a black Rauwolf clutch, a Solange Azagury-Partridge ring and Janis Savitt earrings.

You’ll be glad to see that she switched up the hairstyle from Saturday, giving us yet another sharp, fresh ‘do, with her makeup being the only thing that could possibly out-shine her frock.

It was a resounding nay on her Givenchy gown, so how does this look fare?

Best Dressed Of The Week – Lupita Nyong’o In Christian Dior Couture & Carina Lau In Ralph & Russo

Best Dressed Of The Week - Lupita Nyong'o In Christian Dior Couture & Carina Lau In Ralph & Russo

Lupita Nyong’o was your best dressed this week for the Christian Dior Couture gown she wore to the BAFTAs.
As much as I loved the gown and the colour against her skin, there was – much like her SAG Awards Ralph Lauren cape gown – a feeling of déjà vu.

Even without the déjà vu, I would’ve still crowned Carina Lau my favourite in her Ralph & Russo Couture pink cocktail dress, which was far more enticing and original in design. My runner up was Suki, also in Ralph & Russo.

Lupita Nyong’o In Givenchy – NAACP Image Awards 2014

Lupita Nyong'o In Givenchy - NAACP Image Awards 2014Lupita Nyong’o took home the Best Supporting Actress trophy at the NAACP Image Awards 2014, hosted Saturday (February 22) at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California.

I always look forward to the ’12 Years a Slave’ star’s red-carpet entrances. Here, she looked to the Givenchy Pre-Fall 2014 collection for inspiration, donning a ruddy, burnt-orange gown with matching Givenchy sandals and a box clutch.

The plunging bodice with harness-like detail was a structured contrast to the multi-pleated, ankle-grazing skirt, which she supplemented with an H. Stern gold cuff and long gold statement earrings.

Working with the rich desert tones, which began with the dress, she completed the effect with metallic bronze eye shadow and a mahogany-red lip—even lacquering her nails in a similar rust shade.

I’m just not sure if I’m yet on board with her new, two-sided ’do, although I appreciate the freshness of the approach.

Lupita Nyong’o In J. Mendel – Late Show with David Letterman

Lupita Nyong'o In J Mendel - Late Show with David Letterman

Lupita Nyong’o was spotted leaving the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City on Wednesday (February 19) following her guest appearance on the ‘Late Show with David Letterman’.

Going from colour and print for the DuJour party, she wore head-to-toe black on this occasion.

The actress donned a J. Mendel strapless dress featuring a leather bustier, which she styled with Christian Louboutin ‘Geotistrap’ sandals and Graziela Gems earrings.

While it’s not her usually colourful turnout, I love this look from head to toe. In fact, I think I prefer it over her Peter Pilotto outing for a refreshing change of pace.

Quietly elegant and very refined. Are you glad she didn’t wear the sheer skirt look book version?

Lupita Nyong'o In Peter Pilotto - DuJour Magazine Cover Party

DuJour Magazine hosted a party to celebrate cover girl Lupita Nyong’o in New York City on Wednesday (February 19).

The actress wore a pretty Peter Pilotto ‘Mira’ Resort 2014 green printed dress styled with Manolo Blahnik lime green pumps, a gold Michael Nelson clutch and a Joan Horing ring.

It’s been a while since I liked Lupita’s choice of shoes, but they work perfectly on this occasion.
