Get The Look: Lupita Nyong’o’ MTV Movie Awards Disco-Inspired Eyes

Get The Look Lupita Nyong’o’ MTV Movie Awards Disco-Inspired EyesCelebrity makeup artist Nick Barose went with a show-stopping silver metallic eye look, with products from Lancôme, for Lupita Nyong’o at the 2014 MTV Movie Awards.

Starting with her skin, Nick used the Lancôme Teint Idole Ultra 24H in 550 Suede and concealed with the Lancôme Maquicomplet Concealer in Deep Suede.

To set the canvas, he dusted the Lancôme Dual Finish Powder in Suede over her face for long-lasting wear.

Her cheeks were brightened with the Lancôme Blush Subtil in Shimmer Tamarind and contoured with the Star Bronzer Palette (from an upcoming Summer 2014 collection).

Her gorgeous, sparkly eyes were dressed up in the Lancôme Color Design Infinite 24H in Unlimited Silver and topped with the Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in All That Glitters.

Nick then lined her eyes with the Lancôme Artliner 24H Eyeliner in Black Diamond and finished off her lashes with the Lancôme Hypnose Custom Volume Mascara in Deep Black.

Lupita’s lips were kept subtle with a touch of Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Saffron Silk and Lancôme Le Lipstique in Sheer Chocolate.

Lupita Nyong’o In Chanel – MTV Movie Awards 2014

Lupita Nyong’o In Chanel Fall 2014 – MTV Movie Awards 2014Lupita Nyong’o was among the mega stars at the MTV Movie Awards 2014, hosted at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (April 13).

I couldn’t have been more excited to see her strutting out a thrilling look from the sassy, style-forward supermarket that was Karl Lagerfeld’s Fall 2014 collection for Chanel.

Her artsy frock was itself a major confection—an indulgent feast of lollipop hues, abstractly sliced, spun and melted together like a mix of Skittles and posh Pixie Stix, and topped off by statement shoulder sleeves, embellished with jelly bean-hued paillettes.

This is my kind of Candy Land.

Instead of the runway’s tall sneaker boots, she wore another pair of her deliciously hued shoes, this time completing the dress with searing, cerulean-blue Casadei ‘Blade’ pumps.

As per usual, the flawless makeup was fully in place, including a smoky, metallic eye and apple-red lip.

J’adore.

Lupita Nyong'o In Antonio Berardi - 25th Annual GLAAD Media Awards

Lupita Nyong’o attended the 25th annual GLAAD Media Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Satuday (April 12) in Beverly Hills, California joining Jennifer Lopez.

The actress wore an Antonio Berardi Pre-Fall 2014 fitted below-the-knee dress in a green iridescent cloqué fabric enhanced with electric blue panels at the waist for a narrowing effect.

As always, the accessories and makeup tie into the look.

Along with a selection of EF collection earrings, a Leroy’s Place Grace Jones ring, her patent leather blue Christian louboutin pumps, green crystallized Judith Leiber clutch and peacock eye makeup colour coordinate perfectly with her look.

Lupita Nyong’o In Giambattista Valli Couture – Marie Claire Celebrates May Cover Stars

Lupita Nyong'o In Giambattista Valli - Marie Claire Celebrates May Cover Stars

After having a much deserved break following awards season, Lupita Nyong’o was back on the red carpet for the Marie Claire Celebrates May Cover Stars party on Tuesday (April 8) in West Hollywood, California joining Kate Mara.

Sporting yet another new ‘do, the ’12 Years a Slave’ actress donned a Giambattista Valli Fall 2013 Couture dress fine-tuned with a fit-and-flare silhouette and blue floral embroidery.

I love how the cut gives her a girlier flair and pretty poise.

This is also aided by her magenta lip colour, Louboutin pumps and Graziela Gems floral jewels.

Lupita Nyong’o for Lancôme

Lupita Nyong’o for Lancôme

Following an epic red carpet run during awards season, which saw the actress experiment with a wide array of lips colours and eye shadows thanks to her makeup artist Nick Barose, I knew it would only be a matter of time before Lupita Nyong’o was scooped up by a beauty brand.

The Oscar winner has been snapped up by French giant Lancôme, joining Julia Roberts, Penélope Cruz, Kate Winslet and Lily Collins as a celebrity ambassador for the brand this September.

Of her new appointment, the ambassadress said “I am particularly proud to represent [Lancôme’s] unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.”

Lupita will be the first woman of colour to represent the French brand since Dominican model Arlenis Sosa in 2008.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Lupita Nyong’o In Prada, Kate Hudson In Atelier Versace & Pink In Elie Saab Couture

Best Dressed Of The Week - Lupita Nyong'o In Prada, Kate Hudson In Atelier Versace & Pink In Elie Saab Couture

With so many great looks to hit the red carpet last week you had trouble picking a clear favourite, so the honour was shared between the fairytale Prada gown worn by Lupita Nyong’o and Kate Hudson’s caped creation from Atelier Versace.

I still have goosebumps from Pink’s Elie Saab Couture red embellished gown. Even though I had this on my wish list for Jessica Chastain, the singer looked outstanding in her Oscar performance look.

Which Was Your Favourite Lupita Nyong’o 2014 Awards Season Look?

Lupita Awards Season 2014

Lupita Nyong’o has been a breath of fresh air since she hit the red carpet. Her awards-season run was as expected: spectacular.

We’ve never seen so much colour from one celebrity (excpepct perhaps Elizabeth Banks), and or such a variety of hairstyles from such a short hair cut.

Trying to narrow down my favourite look is like asking a mother ‘who is your favourite child?’

My top four are Calvin Klein at the Critics’ Choice Awards, Gucci at the SAG Awards, Dior Couture at the BAFTAs and Ralph Lauren at the Globes.

Are you having a hard time narrowing your favourite to just one?
