2010 Tony Awards – Lucy Liu In Marchesa

Beautiful, Yet Not Blown Away Award
The 2010 Tony Awards took place in New York last night honoring Broadway productions and performances.

Lucy Liu is one of my favourites on the red carpet and Marchesa is one of my favourite red carpet designers, so technically I should be losing my mind but I wasn’t blown away.

Of course she looks gorgeous in her Marchesa Fall 2010 blush strapless tulle gown with sculpted hand embroidered bodice, but a part of me wishes she picked something less fussy as the colour is stunning on her.

Her look paired with a Roger Vivier clutch.

“Good Day NY” – Lucy Liu In Max Azria

Actress Lucy Liu appeared on “Good Day NY” this week to talk about her latest role in the Broadway show “God of Carnage”.

Lucy also has an upcoming movie coming out called “East Fifth Bliss”, so hopefully we will get to see more of her on the red carpet.

The star looked as stunning as ever wearing a Max Azria Resort 2010 watercolour dress with an asymmetrical neckline,

Camilla Belle wore the green version of this dress last year.

I much prefer this version as it has a fresh spring feel to it.

That feeling continues right down to her Miu Miu cutout sandals.

Does anyone agree that this should be BDOTW?

I’m asking because I tend to be biased towards Lucy as she’s one of my faves.

Who Wore Lanvin Better? Audrey Tautou or Lucy Liu

I love both of these ladies so this was always going to be a difficult one to judge.

Audrey Tautou first wore this Lanvin Fall 2009 draped detail dress to the LA premiere of “Coco Before Chanel” back in September.

The dress looks great on her and I love that she’s kept the jewelry simple.

I’m sorry to say that the hair is way too fussy for me. I like that her hair is up but I would have preferred something more sleek.

Lucy Liu wore this dress recently to the “Art Of Progress” World Premiere of the Audi A8 in Miami.

For me Lucy always looks so chic on the red carpet and here she gets it right again.

I love her choice of shoe and think the shape of the platforms work really well with the symmetry of the dress.

I would like to have seen her hair off her shoulders though.

It’s a close call but Lucy get my vote.

‘The Art of Progress’ World Premiere of the New Audi A8

Lucy Liu holds the joint 2 position in my affections alongside Thandie Newton, so it’s always a pleasure to see her on the red carpet.

On this occasion she wore a black Lanvin drape detailed belted dress which she makes look uber chic.

I love how she swept her hair to one side to show off the drape detail.

This is why I love Lucy, she thinks of the little details some – Monica Cruz – wouldn’t consider.

Her look is paired with a black clutch, and YSL heels.

This maroon dress with cut-out details could’ve been quite disastrous, but Christina Ricci makes it work as she smoulders on the red carpet.

In saying that I’m not so crazy about the shoes, but thankfully that they are not ankle boots.

Best Dressed Of The Week – Lucy Liu In Monique Lhuillier

On Monday I was pretty sure I was going to vote Cheryl Cole in Atelier Versace as my Best Dressed this week.

On Wednesday I then changed my mind and was certain Blake Lively in Marchesa was going to be my Best Dressed this week.

Then on Friday Lucy Liu swept me off my feet wearing Monique Lhuillier.

I’m sure many of you had the same late change of heart, as you voted for Lucy too.

Many said the that gown was so fabulous that it was impossible for Lucy to go wrong. I disagree because this dress could have come off looking very prom-like.

FashionLover said it best when describing Lucy as floating on cloud.

Thanks for your votes.
