Lucy Liu In Givenchy – 63rd Annual Obie Awards

Lucy Liu joined Denise Gough for the 63rd Annual Obie Awards on Monday (May 21) in New York City, where she was a guest presenter.

The actress used the occasion to give her new summer blonde tresses their red carpet debut.

While I will let my feelings on her hair settle for a few outings, I will say I love her Givenchy Spring 2018 dress.

I know bows, especially a multitude of them, can be a hard sell on a grown woman as the look is often labelled as too twee, but if anyone can make the sweet sensibilities of this dress work in their favour it’s Lucy.

You may remember that Dakota Johnson also had a successful outing in this same frock.

Lucy Liu In Elizabeth Kennedy – 2017 Gotham Independent Film Awards

Lucy Liu presented a Dolce & Gabbana-clad James Franco with the Best Actor award for ‘The Disaster,’ at the 2017 Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday (November 27) in New York City.

As some may know Lucy is my number one girl, so it pains me to say I couldn’t get on board with her Elizabeth Kennedy Spring 2018 dress.

Had the skirt had the same finesse we can see in the look book, I perhaps I could’ve forced myself to raise a smile for this one, but I don’t find the style that flattering to begin with.

I only see someone like Erin O’Connor or Dita von Teese pulling something like this off.

Lucy Liu In Yanina Couture – The American Theatre Wing’s Centennial Gala

When it comes to red carpet queens, Lucy Liu has always been my number one girl.

I was delighted to see her glide down the red carpet for The American Theatre Wing’s Centennial Gala on Monday (September 18) in New York City, wearing look from Yanina’s Spring 2016 Couture collection.

She always looks so statuesque despite her petite frame, but I’m particularly taken back by how glamorous this tiered tulle gown with silver leaf sequin details is.

I bet it was even more mesmerizing and graceful with every step.

There are princess gowns then there is this, elegance personified.

Lucy Liu In Lanvin – Bruno Magli Presents A Taste Of Italy

Lucy Liu In Lanvin - Bruno Magli Presents A Taste Of Italy

Lucy Liu attended the Bruno Magli Presents A Taste Of Italy event on Tuesday (December 1) in New York City.

The actress wore an elegantly understated, bow-bedecked Lanvin white frock which I love, but the styling didn’t quite work for me.

The black oversized clutch is a bit of an eyesore and the Bruno Magli pumps are a tad dull with this look.

Lucy Liu In Monique Lhuillier – ‘Hamilton’ Broadway Opening Night

Lucy Liu In Monique Lhuillier - ‘Hamilton’ Broadway Opening Night

Lucy Liu joined Sarah Jessica Parker on the red carpet for the Broadway opening night performance of ‘Hamilton’ at the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Thursday (August 6) in New York City.

The actress wore a full Monique Lhuillier Resort 2016 look which consisted of a floral print coat and white lace dress, which she accessorized with a ‘Lily’ coral and gold tassel accented clutch.

Pretty as this is, my first reaction to this was this should’ve been saved for Helen Mirren.

Upon reflection, I don’t think Helen would pick a dress where the waist hits at such an unflattering point.

Had Lucy picked look 23 I would’ve been screaming BDOTW worthy.

Lucy Liu In Naeem Khan – 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner

Lucy Liu In Naeem Khan - 2015 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner

Lucy Liu was among the Hollywood elite who attended the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner last night (April 25) at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC.

Effortlessly chic from head-to-toe, the actress wore a beaded Naeem Khan Pre-Fall 2015 gown with Lorraine Schwartz diamond rose cut front back earrings.

Lucy really accomplishes a feat here, as she makes it look easy to be this chic. Long curls; red lips; the perfect black gown: She looks like she was made for this exact fashion moment.

I’m always a fan of easy glamour, and Lucy embodies that here.

Are you as taken with the look as I am?
