Who Wore Dior Better…Lucy Hale or Selena Gomez?

Who Wore Dior Better Lucy Hale or Selena Gomez

Lucy Hale wore a micro-mini Dior fit-and-flare dress sculpted from vibrant red duchess satin with a lustrous sheen and a plunging neckline to the 2014 Teen Choice Awards back in August styled with Brian Atwood ‘Abell’ sandals, which added a punch to this sweet offering, a MICHAEL Michael Kors clutch, and a selection of jewels.

Selena Gomez wore the same dress last week to the ‘Rudderless’ LA premiere styled with Manolo Blahnik ‘Pacha’ translucent cap-toe pumps which complemented her black VBH envelope clutch.

My overall opinion is that the dress is too short and too tight on both; however, Lucy wins for me as I like her sassier shoe choice and the lining she added to her dress.

Lucy Hale In Oscar de la Renta – 2014 MTV Video Music Awards #VMA

Never one to shy away from a fabulous fashion moment, Lucy Hale wore a second complete look after her initial walk down the red carpet at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards tonight (August 24) at The Forum in Los Angeles.

This time around, the actress wore a short and flirty Oscar de la Renta dress from the designer’s Fall 2014 collection.

The black and fuchsia print is eye-catching and fun, and the pink Brian Atwood ‘Besame’ pumps were a great way to keep the party going all the way to the floor.

Vita Fede jewelry, a bright pink lip and long, loose waves complete look number two.

So the question is, which was your favorite Lucy Hale look of the night?

Lucy Hale In Sachin + Babi & Zimmermann – 2014 MTV Video Music Awards #VMA

Lucy Hale In Sachin + Babi - 2014 MTV Video Music Awards #VMA

Lucy Hale was one of the first to hit the red carpet at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards #VMA on Sunday evening (August 24) at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

As host of the MTV VMAs pre-show, the ‘Pretty Little Liars’ kick-started the night in a flirty fuchsia and black cocktail dress, before changing into this more dramatic ensemble.

The Sachin & Babi Spring 2014 black leather-inspired halter top perpetuated the cropped trend, most recently seen at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards. But, rather than echo the runway’s sheer look, she wore a slightly sweeter, floral-printed full skirt by Zimmerman.

Of course, plenty of edge was worked into this little number, with peekaboo grommet-like seaming throughout the skirt, styled with a few knuckle rings and silver sandals.

A beautifully teased ponytail, a smoky bronze eye and sultry mauve lip rounded out her romantic, rock-star look.

Hair Trend Spotting: Messy Braided Ponytails

Hair Trend Spotting Messy Braided Ponytails

Keeping your locks under control in the humid weather has never been easy; however, Nina Dobrev, Lucy Hale and Shay Mitchell found the perfect solution for their red carpet looks at the Teen Choice Awards: braided ponytails.

Last year braids were worn as tight and as sleek as possible, whereas this spring braids are going to be the complete opposite as this trend is more laidback and relaxed, reliving the romantic medieval style.

Opting for long, chunky, messy and romantic braids shows a much more youthful approach to a classic updo.

Other stars who have championed the messy, romantic braid this year, during Cannes, include Blake Lively and Eva Longoria.

Here’s how to create the look.

Create a side part and add texture with a wide-barrel curling iron, making sure to curl from the top. Lightly tease hair at the crown, then split your hair into two sections.

Keeping your hair on the side of the part, begin to braid by pulling a bit of hair from the outside of one section over to the centre of the other section, then repeat for the other side and continue until your braid is the desired length.

Once you’ve reached the bottom, fasten the braid with an elastic. Loosen the braid by lightly tugging on outer sections throughout.

Lucy Hale In Christian Dior – 2014 Teen Choice Awards

Lucy Hale In Christian Dior - 2014 Teen Choice Awards

Lucy Hale attended the 2014 Teen Choice Awards held at The Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (August 10) in Los Angeles, California.

The actress wore a Dior fit-and-flare dress sculpted from vibrant red duchess satin with a lustrous sheen and a plunging neckline.

I can’t say her Brian Atwood ‘Abell’ sandals are my favourite, but they do punch up this sweet offering, which was also accessorized with a MICHAEL Michael Kors clutch, and a selection of jewels from EF Collection, Dana Rebecca Designs, Graziela Gems and Melinda Maria.

A braided ponytail with face-framing tendrils completed her fiery look.

Lucy Hale In Dsquared² – The Grand Ole Opry

Lucy Hale In Dsquared² - The Grand Ole Opry

Lucy Hale performed at The Grand Ole Opry on Saturday (June 21) in Nashville, Tennessee.

With hot pants the preferred performance attire for the likes of Beyonce, Rihanna, Rita Ora, JLo, and of course Miley, it’s nice to see an artist focus on her music.

Not going the nearly naked route, Lucy wore a Dsquared² Spring 2014 white leather sleeveless dress with a tiered scalloped perforated skirt.

I much prefer Lucy’s tonal look over the tri-colour look which took the runway. The runway version is too busy for my liking.

Lucy styled her ’50s-style frock with gold Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals and a Dionea Orcini ring.
