12th Annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards Red Carpet Roundup

12th Annual CFDAVogue Fashion Fund Awards Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more celebrities who hit the red carpet for the 12th annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards held at Spring Studios on Monday (November 2) in New York City.

Lorde: While I appreciate the rare smile, I can’t get on board with these unflattering Givenchy Spring 2016 pyjamas.

Zendaya Coleman: I simply adore the autumnal mood of this Thakoon Fall 2015 embellished dress, especially when styled with those cheeky fur trimmed shoes.

Demi Moore: When I think of Zac Posen I think of sharp lines and structure. All the things that this Spring 2016 dress does not possess. I’m not sure I care for it.

2015 Met Gala Roundup

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

A flurry of even more bold names descended on red carpet of the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4), where their colourful variety of looks only contributed to this year’s fashion extravaganza.

Anna Wintour
: As the gala co-host, the ‘Vogue’ editor-in-chief dressed thematically (for her, anyway) in a Chanel Spring 2015 Couture gown featuring dimensional, all-over poppy embroidery, which had been lengthened from the runway’s original shorter version. She should have maintained her signature cap sleeve, as the flower petal statement shoulders translated as a bit cumbersome, despite their inherent artistry.

Bee Shaffer: Like her mother, Bee also found inspiration in flowers, opting for a mahogany blossom gown by Alexander McQueen. I much preferred this look to Anna’s, especially with the enchantment of the beautifully embroidered Chinese cranes that alighted down the back of the dress.

Christian Dior Fall 2015 Front Row

Christian Dior Fall 2015 Front Row

Earlier today (March 6) Christian Dior presented its Fall 2015 collection during Paris Fashion Week with a front row which didn’t included the usual suspects.

Dakota Johnson: Fresh from her promo tour for ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’, the actress who has been flitting between black and white red carpet looks settled for black on this occasion. I love how the off-the-shoulder style provides a fresh, modern-cool slant for this beautifully tailored tuxedo-inspired jumpsuit with a flattering, sophisticated silhouette. The pink cuff is a head scratcher, but the rest of the styling is perfectly complementary.

Hailee Steinfeld: I didn’t recognise Hailee in this Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2015 look. In fact I thought this was Kendall Jenner. The young actress is growing up fast; ditching girlie dresses for a more grown up look which still maintains a youthful flare. Aside from the out-of-place white clutch, I covet this look from head to toe, including that frosty pink lip.

Lorde: The singer added a backpack to her modern, minimalist Pre-Fall 2015 look which ordinarily I would frown at, but she made it work adding her own brand of cool to the look.

Lorde In Narciso Rodriguez – 2015 Golden Globe Awards

Lorde In Narcisco Rodriguez – 2015 Golden Globes Awards 2

Lorde tried the tuxedo trend at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday (January 11).

With baggy ill-fitting black pants and a peekaboo transparent crop top, the singer was a renegade on the red carpet in her Narciso Rodriguez Pre-Fall 2015 pantsuit in black. Adding to the maverick style, she opted for a heavy ornate diamond and platinum Neil Lane choker.

With hair styled into a low bun, the look was even more severe. And with goth cherry red lipstick, Lorde looked dated and older.

This outfit felt more Addams Family than up-and-coming rockstar.

Salvaging this look would involve a tailor and a trip to a tween store.

Lorde In Schiaparelli – ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ – Part 1′ London Premiere

Lorde In Schiaparelli - 'The Hunger Games Mockingjay' – Part 1' London Premiere

Lorde, who personally curated the track list for the ‘The Hunger Games: Mockingjay’ – Part 1′ soundtrack – on which she makes multiple appearances alongside such names as Charli XCX, CHVRCHES, and the Chemical Brothers – attended the world premiere held at the Odeon Leicester Square on Monday (November 10).

While the leading ladies brought colour and glamour to the red carpet, the 18-year-old musician served up a mannish offering in her favourite colour: black.

I’m sure many would agree that this oversized Schiaparelli Fall 2014 Couture tuxedo with its bold shoulders, baggy trousers and large lapels perhaps would’ve worked better on the queen of androgynous dressing, Tilda Swinton; however, I do think Lorde just about pulls this off.

Placing her hands in her pockets stops the blazer from overwhelming her petite frame, and I love the red lippie to give this a touch of feminine flavour.

Lorde performed onstage during the 2014 iHeartRadio Music Festival held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday (September 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

In keeping with her favoured style of all things set in a moody dark colour palette, the singer wore a Proenza Schouler crop top accentuated with high-waist trousers, both of which are emblazoned with a bold, abstract animal print from the Fall 2014 collection.

The grungy fit was amped up with black Chelsea boots, and only onstage did she wear her signature dark-berry lip.
