Lorde In Valentino – 2018 Grammy Awards

After Lorde’s back-to-back black statements on Friday, I had high hopes she would bring something different to the table at the 2018 Grammy Awards tonight (January 28) in New York City.

So, I was completely captivated by her red Valentino Pre-Fall 2018 frothy confection, which was a beautiful revelation on her.

This gown deserved a red carpet moment, but the Album of the Year nominee went straight to her Madison Square Garden seat it seems.

Did you like this ravishing moment from the singer?

Lorde In Christian Dior, Celine & 3.1 Phillip Lim – 2018 MusiCares Person Of The Year Honoring Fleetwood Mac

Lorde joined Rachel Platten at the 2018 MusiCares Person Of The Year Honoring Fleetwood Mac at Radio City Music Hall on Friday (January 26) in New York City.

Ahead of her performance onstage, she was on the red carpet in a Christian Dior Pre-Fall 2018 embellished gown with a certain darkly romantic-punk ethos that the singer often favours. However, I know eyes are rolling at another sheer Dior design.

Ironically, Lorde’s on-stage look was far less edgy, as she wore a tailored Celine tuxedo and 3.1 Phillip Lim trouser power suit. The proportions were the stylistically provocative element here, with the high waist and wide leg of the trousers. So, the nipped-and-tucked blazer and blouse were a fitting match to balance it out.

What did you make of her two black looks?

Lorde In Monique Lhuillier & Jourden x Nike VaporMax – 2017 MTV VMAs

Lorde attended the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday (August 27) , where she performed her new single, ‘Homemade Dynamite’.

Red Carpet: It’s not often Lorde gives us a princess moment, but this Monique Lhuillier Spring 2018 gown was one to behold. The look was simple and effortless and one for her hall of fame. It would’ve been easy to slip a quirk in here, as it was the VMAs, but I’m happy she didn’t disrupt the purity of the look.

Performance: Cranking things up several gears; Lorde channeled her inner Bjork for the performance wearing an Jourden x Nike VaporMax silver ruffled mullet dress paired with Nike sweats and sneakers. It may seem like an odd combo, but I will take this as a performance piece when it could’ve so easily – with a few more inches – been a red carpet look.

Lorde In Elie Saab – 2017 Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival

Lorde performed during the 2017 Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival at Golden Gate Park on Sunday (August 13) in San Francisco, California.

I never had Lorde down as an Elie Saab type of girl, but the dark romantic form of this lace Fall 2017 gown instantly feels right while telling it own story within a symphony of detail and modern femininity.

I love how she grounds the look with adidas Originals Superstar sneakers.

12th Annual CFDAVogue Fashion Fund Awards Red Carpet Roundup

There were many more celebrities who hit the red carpet for the 12th annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards held at Spring Studios on Monday (November 2) in New York City.

Lorde: While I appreciate the rare smile, I can’t get on board with these unflattering Givenchy Spring 2016 pyjamas.

Zendaya Coleman: I simply adore the autumnal mood of this Thakoon Fall 2015 embellished dress, especially when styled with those cheeky fur trimmed shoes.

Demi Moore: When I think of Zac Posen I think of sharp lines and structure. All the things that this Spring 2016 dress does not possess. I’m not sure I care for it.

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

A flurry of even more bold names descended on red carpet of the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4), where their colourful variety of looks only contributed to this year’s fashion extravaganza.

Anna Wintour
: As the gala co-host, the ‘Vogue’ editor-in-chief dressed thematically (for her, anyway) in a Chanel Spring 2015 Couture gown featuring dimensional, all-over poppy embroidery, which had been lengthened from the runway’s original shorter version. She should have maintained her signature cap sleeve, as the flower petal statement shoulders translated as a bit cumbersome, despite their inherent artistry.

Bee Shaffer: Like her mother, Bee also found inspiration in flowers, opting for a mahogany blossom gown by Alexander McQueen. I much preferred this look to Anna’s, especially with the enchantment of the beautifully embroidered Chinese cranes that alighted down the back of the dress.
