Front Row @ Tory Burch Fall 2018

The front row at Tory Burch’s Fall 2018 presentation was a lovely collection of stars who showed up in support of the designer during New York Fashion Week on Friday (February 9).

Julianne Moore: As the actress favours black, this Tory Burch Pre-Fall 2018 ensemble offered a quirky remix of the hue with the colour-block pants. I love the warm tones with her auburn hair, but the dragging hem of the pants does give me pause.

Zoey Deutch: As if she was coming from another era, Zoey celebrated the best of vintage-inspired modernity with this belted trench coat. I love the inherent ladylikeness of the ensemble that balanced a delicate sense of charm with strong sophistication. The oxblood bag and shoes were likewise a compelling way to add depth and drama to the look.

Sienna Miller: With a colour palette that reflected Julianne’s pants, Sienna’s Tory Burch Pre-Fall 2018 dress was topped with a cozy, furry coat. It certainly played into her boho sensibility, especially given the slightly unkempt styling with her fringe bag and slides. I cannot fault the coat, as I’d be wearing one, too, to stay warm in NYC’s brisk temps. But I did want to see more of the dress underneath.

Calvin Klein Celebrate ‘ETERNITY CALVIN KLEIN’

It was a family affair at the Calvin Klein event celebrating the new ‘Eternity’ campaign on Thursday (October 19) in New York City. The campaign features Liya Kebede and Jake Gyllenhaal as doting parents and was shot by director Cary Fukunaga.

Liya Kebede:
The model adhered to a minimalist black and white color palette with a Calvin Klein Fall 2017 ensemble. It was all about the play of fabrics with the tough black pants, long jacket and boots contrasting the softness of the white roll neck. I would have liked to see the trousers tailored so there wasn’t all of the fabric pooling at the hems.

Maggie Gyllenhaal: Showing support for her brother, ‘The Deuce’ actress wore a black and white paisley suit which had plenty of retro flair. The vintage vibe was enhanced with the contrasting burnt orange and black circular appliqués on the jacket’s hem and top of the trousers. Some might find it dated, but I thought Maggie carried off the throwback style.

Jake Gyllenhaal: Looking very dashing, the campaign star wore a slim two-button blue suit. The actor played off the contrasting black buttons of the jacket with a black crew neck top and coordinating sleek shoes.

Liya Kebede In Paco Rabanne – ‘120 Beats Per Minute’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Liya Kebede joined a host of stars on the red carpet for the ‘120 Beats Per Minute (120 Battements Par Minute)’ premiere during the 2017 Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 20).

The model has never been a big gown girl, which is why this Paco Rabanne Fall 2017 gold mesh dress was the perfect look for her.

It stays firmly in cool-girl territory, while still oozing plenty of glamour befitting the occasion.

As always, her makeup and styling – which included Stella Luna sandals – were effortless, and very much on point.

Those with big gown fatigue will appreciate this look I’m sure.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2017 Front Row

The ladies of the Louis Vuitton Fall 2017 front row made from an impressive—and impressively cohesive—showing at the Paris Fashion Week show on Tuesday (March 7), with all donning surprisingly well-coordinated looks from the house of LV.

Michelle Williams: A power LBD if there ever was one, this look proved that there’s nothing monotonous about the sultry-sweet lines of a black leather dress edged up further by a sharp pair of booties.

Sophie Turner: Commanding a chic, warrior-princess mood, the ‘Game of Thrones’ actress was also the ultimate fashion girl in this forward look. On paper, the furry vest, gathered leather skirt, and futuristic white boots would be strange bedfellows, but it works beautifully on Sophie.

Jennifer Connelly: The actress’s LV looks can be hit and miss. But she was at the top of her game with the sleek lines of this black dress accessorised by those striking white boots and graphic clutch.

amfAR New York Gala Red Carpet Roundup

Many more models were in attendance at the 19th Annual amfAR New York Gala, honouring Donatella Versace, on Wednesday (February 8) in New York City.

Adriana Lima: Although she wasn’t dressed in Versace, the supermodel’s Zuhair Murad dressing gown-inspired design, paired with Giuseppe Zanotti sandals, brought plenty of seductive appeal. While the lace lingerie aesthetic is nothing new, there’s no denying that Adriana—and her dramatic red lip—delivered the look with smoldering allure that could easily make us forget the sheer fatigue.

Liu Wen: Compared to Adriana, the model’s Rita Vinieri black and white gown seemed mighty tame. Yet I loved the ease with which she wore this minimalistic moment that was assured of a classically sophisticated standing at the event. Giuseppe Zanotti sandals finished the look.

2015 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Roundup

2015 CFDA Fashion Awards Red Carpet Roundup

An additional chic set of lovelies were among the constellation of style stars at the 2015 CFDA Fashion Awards, hosted at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on Monday (June 1) in New York City.

Katie Holmes: I really wanted to love the actress’s one-of-a-kind Ralph Lauren Collection deep-green silk charmeuse evening dress accented with Ralph Lauren vintage jewels. Shame about the wrinkles in the dress and the long, barely-styled hair that hid the beautiful earrings.

Abigail Spencer: It was delightful to see such a bright, patterned Novis dress, where the bold colour continued with royal purple Malone Souliers Dawn Mules heels and a magenta lip. The end result was captivatingly fresh and charming, even if it appeared slightly less formal than some of the other entrances.

Gigi Hadid: This Michael Kors Resort 2016 glittery jumpsuit had a distinct Studio 54 vibe, but the model wore it so well, creating a chicly modern appeal with Michael Kors ‘Jacqueline’ sandals, a metallic Michael Kors clutch, and Atelier Swarovski jewels.

Liya Kebede In Proenza Schouler – ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Liya Kebede In Proenza Schouler - 'Mad Max Fury Road' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Liya Kebede attended the ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ premiere during the 2015 Cannes Film Festival this evening (May 14) in Cannes, France.

As good as Liya always looks in Louis Vuitton, there was a huge sigh of relief that she put her love for all things Nicolas Ghesquière on pause for one night.

She turned to her second favourite designer, Proenza Schouler, selecting a deconstructed ensemble from the Fall 2015 collection.

With that copper textural sequin-embroidery asymmetrical top she was guaranteed to effortlessly stun anew at every turn, especially since she has such an enviable figure.

Styled with PS1 sandals and a Proenza Schouler silver minaudière, she pulled the look off with ease.
