Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’

The list of lovelies at Harper’s BAZAAR Celebrates ‘ICONS By Carine Roitfeld’ on Friday (September 8) in New York City was seemingly unending, as a number of stars joined Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez, and Kim Kardashian.

Gigi Hadid: Her hyper-embellished Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2017 ensemble, styled with Lorraine Schwartz jewels, was so intricate and powerful of a statement that it really didn’t require the rhinestone clogs.

Kaia Gerber: Cindy Crawford’s model daughter was all grown up in a slinky Kristian Aadnevik Fall 2017 mini that had her looking like her mom more and more.

Kendall Jenner: There was little left to the imagination in this Dolce & Gabbana ruched, sheer number. Yet, ironically in spite of the see-through, I couldn’t help but still get a certain sophisticated, glam vibe with the look, which I will chalk up to its silhouette along with Kendall’s Old-Hollywood waves, Lorraine Schwartz jewels, and Jimmy Choo sandals.

2017 DVF Awards

The 2017 DVF Awards took place on Thursday (April 6) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York with plenty of stars decked out in DVF.

Kate Bosworth: Drenched in highly polished, couture-grade micro sequins, this colour-block Diane von Furstenberg Pre-Fall 2017 is utterly resplendent. The only downside was the out-of-place wooden clutch.

Tracee Ellis Ross: Had it not been for the poor fit and the creases, this DVF Spring 2017 look would’ve been a winner.

Allison Williams: Going the uber sophisticated route, the ‘Girls’ actress was my favourite of the bunch. I just love the timeless quality of her Fall 2017 look with the old Hollywood glam styling.

Models @ The Chopard Party

Models @ The Chopard Party

Models were out in force for the Chopard party during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, France on Monday (May 18).

As always, there was a lot of bling courtesy of the host Chopard, plenty of thigh-revealing frocks and of course, a high percentage of Elie Saab Couture gowns.

Lindsay Ellingson: The model wore a Sophie Theallet striped gown with thigh-high slit. I love the added flavour via her colourful leather belt and shoes from Sophie Theallet’s ‘Jamaican Dancehall’ collection which I must own.

Thairine Garcia: My jaw-dropped upon seeing the red haired model wearing this gorgeous green Elie Saab gown. Red + green = red carpet perfection.

Daniela Braga: The Brazilian model sparkled in a blue Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture gown which was similar in style to Ana Beatriz Barros’ red gown (from the same collection) who was standing right beside her.

Toni Garrn: Shunning the bling trend, the model kept things simple in a blush silk Blumarine gown.

Petra Nemcova: I expected some bling from Petra, but on this occasion that only came courtesy of her Chopard jewels.

Irina Shayk: Showing an incredible amount of restraint, the model, who’s known to wear many embellished gowns slit to the thigh, opted for a simple yet chic Misha Nonoo jumpsuit on this occasion.

Adriana Lima: The model also went down a surprisingly muted path vamping up her simple white gown with Giuseppe Zanotti accessories.

Isabeli Fontana: An any other day we would scold the Brazilian beauty for overcooking her embellished Elie Saab Couture gown with that necklace, but this was a Chopard party, excess was expected.

Vanity Fair Party 2015 Tribeca Film Festival Party

Vanity Fair Party 2015 Tribeca Film Festival Party

A crush of lovelies attended the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival’s ‘Vanity Fair’ party at the State Supreme Courthouse in New York City on Tuesday (April 14). Here, a roundup of their looks.

Ivanka Trump: Adding a sexy spin to her sophisticated style, Ivanka wore a David Koma Spring 2015 asymmetrical frock with side cutouts. Despite the statement dress, I cannot direct my gaze away from that massive silver clutch, which was much too big for this otherwise sleek, sultry look.

Lindsay Ellingson: The model gave this Valentino Fall 2013 dress with china-blue embroidery its fourth appearance, as it has previously been worn by Lea Seydoux, Charlotte Ronson, and Angelababy. Yet she wears it so well, I still cannot help but be charmed by her effortless interpretation of the precious-chic dress, styled with matching off-white pumps, a ponytail and red lip.

Joan Smalls: Oozing seductive appeal, the model channeled her inner femme fatale in a leather-look, body-con House of CB dress, sliced through with peekaboo cutouts. A rouge lip and long straight locks completed the effect.

Who Wore Wes Gordon Better…Lindsay Ellingson or Ashley Madekwe?

Who Wore Wes Gordon Better Lindsay Ellingson or Ashley Madekwe

Lindsay Ellingson attended ‘The Giver’ New York premiere wearing a nude Wes Gordon Spring 2014 halter dress accented with yellow lace inserts at the sides.

We were slightly disappointed in the styling and execution of this look, then up stepped Ashley Madekwe who brought this look to life while attending the Variety And Women In Film Emmy Nominee Celebration.

Adding gold jewels and a gold clutch plus nude Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals, this was an easy win for the British trend setter.

Lindsay Ellingson In Wes Gordon – ‘The Giver’ New York Premiere

Lindsay Ellingson In Wes Gordon - 'The Giver' New York Premiere

Lindsay Ellingson attended ‘The Giver’ premiere at the Ziegfeld Theater on Monday (August 11) in New York City, joining Taylor Swift, Odeya Rush and Katie Holmes.

The model wore a Wes Gordon Spring 2014 nude crepe halter dress with contrasting yellow lace inserts on the sides which prevent the look from feeling too one note, considering she also opted for nude sandals.

For the premiere of a movie you are not starring in, I guess this is an event-appropriate not-upstaging-the-stars look; however, I don’t find the dress appealing on Lindsay, which is strange because I love it on the runway. It falls a bit flat.
