Li Yuchun In Jean Paul Gaultier Couture – ‘The Little Prince’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Li Yuchun In Jean Paul Gaultier Couture - 'The Little Prince' Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Li Yuchun attended the premiere of ‘The Little Prince’ during the 68th annual Cannes Film Festival on Friday (May 22) in Cannes, France making her first appearance on the red carpet as a L’Oréal ambassador.

My reaction to this: “YES!” Finally, someone made those Jean Paul Gautier Spring 2015 Couture hybrid pieces work off the runway.

This look isn’t your typical jumpsuit; I love how the piece plays up its formal suiting while still possessing plenty of whimsical sensibility.

Keeping the styling simple and opting for the opera glove so the balance wasn’t thrown off was key to making this look work.

This will rank in my top 5 of the festival and will probably rank quite highly in my BDOTY, despite those darn creases on the trousers.

Li Yuchun In Atelier Versace – 2015 amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala

Li Yuchun In Atelier Versace - 2015 amfAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala

Li Yuchun attended amfAR’s 22nd Cinema Against AIDS Gala at Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc on Thursday (May 21) in Cap d’Antibes, France.

We’re unlikely to see the Asian megastar in a gown anytime soon – and when she wears suits this well, you’ll get no complaints from me.

Li Yuchun often wears black Givenchy – most recently at the Met Gala – but on this occasion she wore a sharp white Atelier Versace Spring 2015 suit which stands out for its wavy placket detail.

I’m not sure if those were sneakers or white pumps worn with this look, but either way she makes it work from head to toe, with a Chaumet necklace from the Lumieres-d’Eau collection rounding out the look.

2015 Met Gala Roundup

"China: Through The Looking Glass" Costume Institute Benefit Gala - Arrivals

A flurry of even more bold names descended on red carpet of the ‘China: Through the Looking Glass’ 2015 Met Gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on Monday (May 4), where their colourful variety of looks only contributed to this year’s fashion extravaganza.

Anna Wintour
: As the gala co-host, the ‘Vogue’ editor-in-chief dressed thematically (for her, anyway) in a Chanel Spring 2015 Couture gown featuring dimensional, all-over poppy embroidery, which had been lengthened from the runway’s original shorter version. She should have maintained her signature cap sleeve, as the flower petal statement shoulders translated as a bit cumbersome, despite their inherent artistry.

Bee Shaffer: Like her mother, Bee also found inspiration in flowers, opting for a mahogany blossom gown by Alexander McQueen. I much preferred this look to Anna’s, especially with the enchantment of the beautifully embroidered Chinese cranes that alighted down the back of the dress.

Chanel Fall 2015 Front Row

Chanel Fall 2015 Front Row

Chanel’s front row wasn’t as jam-packed as usual, with notable stars including Li Yuchun (aka Chris Lee), Florence Welch and Poppy Delevingne taking their seats for the French brand’s Fall 2015 show on Tuesday (March 10).

Li Yuchun: The Asian star took a typically mannish approach wearing a head-to-toe Spring 2015 look incorporating stripes. The only things I covet here are the two-tone brogues. I could’ve got on board with the blazer sans white overlay.

Florence Welch: Also shunning Chanel’s more ladylike offerings was Florence Welch, whose pink suede jacket and trousers from the Spring 2015 collection of course had a distant boho tone, especially when styled with that wide-brimmed hat.

Poppy Delevingne: The socialite showcased her best asset – her legs – wearing a Chanel Resort 2015 gold tweed tunic to which she added black lace shorts. This enabled her to perfectly style her look with black accessories, which included a Chanel Plexiglas clutch.

Li Yuchun 李宇春 In Chanel Couture – Cannes Film Festival Closing Ceremony

Li Yuchun ??? In Chanel Couture - Cannes Film Festival Closing Ceremony

Li Yuchun presented the Short Film Special Distinction award during the Closing Ceremony of the 67th Annual Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 24) in Cannes, France.

Changing out of her custom Givenchy Couture look, the Asian superstar wore a Chanel Fall 2012 Couture ensemble featuring a feathered long-sleeve top and textured wide leg pants.

Opting to go sans belt was a good idea here.

It’s great to see her in a colour other than black, however, I can imagine some vivid blues and multi-colour Peter Pilotto-style prints would look just as good on her.
