Li Yuchun In Comme Des Garçons - Rebecca Wigs Launch Event

Li Yuchun joined Zhang Yuqi on the red carpet for the Rebecca Wigs launch event in Beijing, China on Tuesday.

Working yet another androgynous look, the singer wore a Comme des Garçons Fall 2013 short suit featuring a wide-lapel blazer with rosette detailing and turned-up pinstriped shorts with folds and cuts.

Keeping the styling of her complicated look simple, she added a white shirt and white lace-up brogues.

Unlike Yuqi, Yuchun opted out of wearing a wig on this occasion.

Do you like Yuchun’s styling of her look, or should she have gone for a complete runway look?

Li Yuchun in GbRT - Look 4

Li Yuchun, aka Chris Lee, came to our attention during Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. She has a fan base which eclipses Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus combined, several times over.

So it was not a surprise that when her ‘Why Me’ concert was announced, tickets sold out instantly.

Having showcased her androgynous sartorial style in Cannes, Riccardo Tisci rose to the challenge of creating five customs for the singer, an honour which has also been recently bestowed upon Rihanna and Beyonce.

From bold flame prints to the haute couture organza cape and the hand-embroidered skirt worn over tuxedo pants, the looks all referenced Tisci’s most iconic collections for Givenchy.

The looks matched his long-term obsession with the masculine–feminine contrast, which is why it was so apt that he designed this wardrobe for Li Yuchun as she embodies that contrast perfectly.

Li Yuchun In Lanvin & Versace - MTV EMAsLi Yuchun, aka Chris Lee, snagged the Best Worldwide Act award at the 2013 MTV EMAs at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The Chinese mega-star maintained her reputation for her unique, androgynous style with last night’s garb. She was once again in the no-gown-zone, as she walked on the wilder side with a Lanvin Pre-Fall 2013 leopard embellished coat, accented with floral appliqué.

Under the animal print, she packed on the sequins with a shiny black blazer, outlined in gold trim, from the Versace Resort 2014 collection, which she matched to a pair of black leather-look shorts and a white collar dress shirt.

A sparkling, star-shaped necklace was a fitting accoutrement for this pop singer and actress, whereas black thigh-high, flat Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy boots completed the spirited sartorial entrance that was equal parts rocker-boy and rebel-girl.

If anyone can handle this strong, statement look, it’s Li. Tough-luxe or just too much?

Tilda Swinton & Li Yuchun In Chanel - Chanel's 'The Little Black Jacket’ Exhibition

From Beijing to Shanghai, Chanel’s ‘The Little Black Jacket’ exhibition keeps on rolling.

On Thursday, local and international stars came out to support the event, including Tilda Swinton and mega star Li Yuchun, who I had said during Cannes Film Festival reminded me of the British actress with her androgynous style.

Tilda Swinton: Dialling down the androgyny, Tilda, who was the first person to wear a look from Chanel’s Resort 2014 collection, selected a white sequin tulle dress from that same collection. It’s been a while since we last saw her wear a dress. Even during Cannes Film Festival she wore two trousered looks. Her loose-fitted dress with an embroidered front was styled with white Chanel pumps and barely there, approaching zero makeup.

Li Yuchun: The singer, who also didn’t wear a dress during Cannes, opted for a look from Chanel’s Fall 2013 collection, donning a heavy-looking black-and-white herringbone jacket with braided trims styled with black Chanel jeans and a white high-collared shirt from the Pre-Fall 2013 collection. The final touch came via her black Chanel boots and a silver chain necklace. Is there a little too much going on, or did she pull this off? I think she pulls it off effortlessly.

Li Yuchun In Givenchy Couture - ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Li Yuchun attended the ‘All Is Lost’ Cannes Film Festival premiere held at the Palais des Festivals in France in this evening, giving us a third look at her red carpet style.

So the tulle ballgown never materialized; instead she worked a Givenchy Fall 2012 Couture look featuring a degrade gold-to-black fringed top with sparkling pants and thonged midi heels.

It another amazing look. She totally owns it, without it wearing her.

Li Yuchun is a big star in China, we can tell by the comments on her previous looks.

We’ve heard how great she is, so what do you think about tonight’s Givenchy outfit?

Li Yuchun In Roberto Cavalli - Chinese Party

Li Yuchun came to our attention yesterday wearing a Gareth Pugh Spring 2013 Chinese-red ensemble, which appears to be the marmite look of Cannes so far.

She proved she wasn’t afraid of taking a risk, wearing a bold colour and an unusual design at the Chinese Party held later that evening; she proved that she’s not afraid of prints either.
It would appear that Li Yuchun’s red carpet M.O. is of an androgynous nature.

I could be wrong and she’ll hit the red carpet later today in a tulle ballgown, but at the party she rocked another menswear-inspired look, this time from the Roberto Cavalli Fall 2013 collection.
The black-and-white look featuring a jacket with satin lapels was ripped right off the runway with the exclusion of the shoes.

Someone not so bold – unless they are Karolina Kurkova or Solange Knowles – would’ve added black pants or a black shirt to break up the prints; however, Yuchun rocked it as it was intended.

I can’t wait to see more of her style. I have a feeling she’s the Tilda Swinton of China.
