Social Events Of The Week

“Answer The Call” Charity Concert – Press Conference, New York

Beyonce Knowles looks cute and fresh faced in her all black ensemble, which includes a 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2009 zipper skirt.

I think she could have worked this look without the belt.

“Funny People” Madrid Photocall

After Leslie Mann’s previous red carpet appearance wearing a dark olive Marni dress, she lighten things up for this photocall wearing a floaty and playful Jason Wu Resort 2010 mini chiffon dress.

What a way to get back on track.

The actress paired tan sandals to match her tan belt.

The NASDAQ Closing Bell, New York

Amber Valletta enviably tall and slender frame mean she can pull off difficult shapes with ease, hence being a supermodel.

I love her colour blocked combination of her blue silk Jenni Kayne roll sleeve tank paired with Jenni Kayne black high waisted pants.

That blue is just drawing me in like a magnet.

“Late Show With David Letterman”, New York

I’m always rooting for Rumer Willis.   She often lets me down, but not on this occasion.

Her white Zac Posen cut-out dress was quite sophisticated and she looks really comfortable for a change.

She seems to be favouring Zac Posen at the moment, as this is the second dress she has worn by the designer in consecutive red carpet appearances.

Her look was paired with Sergio Rossi Marisa pumps, which also have a side cut-out detail.

NIKE And The CW Celebrate The Launch of Season 2 of “90210”, LA

All can I say about AnnaLynne McCord’s look is WHY?

This is not the AnnaLynne I know and love.

Jessica Lowndes gives us a pop of colour with bubblegum pink lipstick.

The Hollywood staple ankle boots and a little black lace dress complete the look.

“The Descent Part 2″ Premiere, London

Actress Shauna Macdonald attended her “The Descent Part 2″ premiere in London this week.

I’m the only one slight freak out by the fact that Shauna Macdonald – who is 7 months pregnant – is wearing a bandage dress?

Is that even safe? *winces*

Runway To “Funny People” Berlin Photo Call – Leslie Mann In Marni

Leslie Mann is a great actress and who has fabulous style, but on this occasion I’m not crazy about her look.

To the “Funny People” Berlin Photo Call last night, Leslie wore an olive metallic jacquard dress with a floral detail all over the dress, with black wool inserts on the short sleeves and on the front of the dress.

The problem for me isn’t the dress, but how Leslie wore it.

The runway necklace, patterned tights and shoes all add a bit of spark and interest to the look.

Leslie’s black tights and ankle boots feel so blah and lifeless with the dress.

For once she let me down.

Runway To “Shorts” LA Premiere – Leslie Mann In Oscar de la Renta

I love Leslie Mann because she so charming and she gives us a fun youthful energy to every red carpet look.

I never feel bored or tired of her choices. They always have a bit of pizazz.

To the “Shorts” LA premiere this weekend she wore an Oscar de la Renta Resort 2010 black shantung dress with a black sequins and calypso green ribbon embroidery detail.

She wore her dress without the runway belt, but with a stunning pair of Christian Louboutin python Bianca platforms.

Her make-up was kept light, with her hair styled into a low pony with a few pieces framing her face.

I adore this look. So neat and chic.

Social Events Of The Week

“Mad Men” – Season 3 Premiere

January Jones was one of the first celebs to wear Andrew GN on the red carpet during awards season earlier this year, and she has stayed loyal to the designer wearing his silk navy blue Fall 2009 dress to this red carpet event.

I love that she belted the dress to give it more shape, whilst her simple black patent Brian Atwood ‘Maniacs’ pumps, and wavy blonde locks complete this sophisticated look.

You may recognise the dress to be similar to the dress Kerry Washington wore on the Tonight Show With Conan O’Brien back in June with the diamond shapes cut into the neckline which are trimmed with leather.

Christina Hendricks looked radiant as she opted for another dress by Catherine Malandrino.

This time she wore a black asymmetrical long sleeve Malandrino Fall 2009 dress with bird embroidery detail on the bodice.  This was daring choice, but she totally made it work by keeping accessories to a minimum.

“Live! with Regis and Kelly”, New York

Leslie Mann always makes an impact on the red carpet.

When she arrived for her appearance on “Live With Regis And Kelly'” in New York, she is wearing a black diamond organza sleeveless blouse, a chiffon flutter skirt and a patent leather bow belt from the Erin Fetherston Fall 2009 collection.

This is such a cute girlie look.

Bagatelle Party, Paris

Oh to be Dita von Teese.

The star is wearing one of the day dresses from Elie Saab’s Fall 2009 collection in dove grey, which she also owns in black.

Lace peep-toes and a collection of white bangles completes her look, whilst her hair and make-up are as you would expect.

“Spread” Los Angeles Premiere

Demi Moore arrived with eye-candy Ashton Kutcher wearing a Louis Vuitton lavender dress with a draped bodice and cut-out details on the side.

She completed her look with multi-coloured Giuseppe Zanotti heels and a black clutch.

My request to Rumer Willis remains the same. Please dye your hair back to black.

The young actress wore a silver metallic strapless Karen Millen dress and Christian Louboutin heels.

Anne Heche looked very sexy wearing a black satin ruched Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress with brocade and jeweled sleeves.

This is the best she has looked this year.

22.07.09 Premiere

“Funny People” LA Premiere

Lesile Mann blossomed in a raspberry twill tiered bustier dress with a pleated skirt from the Martin Grant Fall 2009 collection.

The colour is outstanding and she stands head-and-shoulders above the other ladies who walked this red carpet.

Her look was paired with a Judith Leiber clutch, Fred Leighton jewels and Christian Louboutin Very Galaxy fuchsia peep-toes.

This is a very long step down from Elizabeth Banks’ stunning looks at Cannes Film Festival.

The usually well-turned out star was let down massively by her hair which was excessively back-combed to make it resemble a lion’s mane.

The dark roots are killing her too.

It’s a huge shame because her elegant MaxMara LBD with an asymmetrical neckline is gorgeous, as are her heels.

Anna Faris wore pale yellow dress which neither excited nor disappoints.

Toni Collette should have remembered the “Take one thing off before you leave the house rule” because those leggings are really working against her.

Again this is a shame because her chic embellished Sass & Bide dress worn with a large waist belt, is such an unexpected fabulous look for her.

Her dress was paired with a Jimmy Choo Rumer clutch and
Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony Elastic Wedge Booties

Spike TV’s 2009 “Guys Choice Awards”

All hail the return of Halle Berry’s pixie crop.

I don’t think anyone works this crop better than Halle. She totally owns this hair style. It makes her look younger, and sexier – if that were even possible.

The actress wore a black deep plunging, draped Riller & Fount halter dress, with her Camilla Skovgaard ankle boot sandals.

On anyone else, this type of dress may have been overtly sexy, or trashy, but on Halle, she just looks damn hot.

Hayden Panettiere should’ve worn this Stella McCartney sequined dress, to the MTV Movie Awards.  It fills me with the joys of summer.

I love how her dress subtly graduates in tone, and darkens to nude toward the bottom.  This sequin look featured on many pieces of Stella’s Spring 2009 collection.

I love her wavy hair, the nude lips, and the nude stone earrings.

Her neutral look is completed with a Jimmy Choo clutch, and Christian Louboutin sandals.

Leslie Mann smolders in a sleeveless periwinkle Moschino Spring 2009 satin dress with tiered skirt, which she wears with nude Gucci heels.

Malin Ackerman opted for a racy red beaded Jasmine di Milo number, which was bound to have sent a few male hearts a flutter.

This look is just OK for me,  I may have like it more if the shoes hadn’t been so plain.

Mila Kunis’ LBD is really captivating, with its tiered sculptured detail of the skirt.

A sexier strappy sandal, would have worked better for me, but overall I like this look, even though I wish she has worn something more fruity and summery like Hayden.
